The food is so so so good and fresh! Portions are large. Service is top notch! A big THANK YOU to Heather for her fantastic service. I ordered through Uber Eats and they did not send my order to Chex and I could not cancel my order without being charged. They made the food quickly and did not charge me. Great establishment! read more

First off this place is not what you'd think. It's not a traditional restaurant setting. You do have sitting as it reminds me of a Chinese take out. Now the food. Keep in mind you will be waiting for your order. They have a lot of different flavors for their wings. I had the hot raspberry and the Hawaiian flavors. They are very good. I wouldn't order fries as they will get soggy. read more

In the pursuit of excellence, one must often look past the surface to find the substance. At Chex's, the surface is undeniably polished. The establishment boasts an aesthetically chic interior, anchored by "marble" tables that, while regrettably small, contribute to an atmosphere of modern cleanliness. This commitment to hygiene is not merely a feeling; it is a matter of public record, as evidenced by their impeccable 100.0 sanitation rating. However, a critic knows that a clean house does not always guarantee a feast. The kitchen was manned by a skeleton crew of only two workers, while a third handled the front register--a staffing reality that telegraphed an inevitable wait from the moment of entry. While waiting, my gaze was frequently drawn to the refrigerator behind the counter, where large, tempting slices of red velvet cake stood like alluring sirens. The meal itself was a study in contradictions. The fries were a standout: fried to a structural crisp and dusted with a unique seasoning that provided a sophisticated "tang". Unfortunately, the Mozzarella Sticks failed to reach such heights... $7.99 for six, they were decidedly mediocre and hardly worth the price point, accompanied by a measly two-ounce cup of marinara sauce. The true tragedy, however, lay in the wings. While the portion sizes were undeniably generous, boasting an impressive amount of flats, the sauce was a disappointment. As the visual evidence confirms, the sauce lacked emulsification, leaving the wing to languish in a pool of separated oil. This scarcity extended to the condiments: I was provided only a single two-ounce cup of ranch to split between seven wings, a mountain of fries, and six pieces of celery. The Verdict: Chex's Grill & Wings is a place of diligent effort: I observed the front-counter worker spending their downtime meticulously tidying the lobby. Yet, for all its cleanliness and five large-screen distractions, the culinary execution remains inconsistent. It is a masterclass in visual presentation, but it requires more depth in the sauce and a bit more generosity in the portioning of its sauces. Rating: 3/5 Stars read more

The Gastonia Chex decided that the best way they could provide great customer service was to steal money from the customer tonight. They gave the me the wrong sandwich order. This was discovered when I got home. Tried to call the restraunt but they didn't answer. Drove the 15 minutes back to the restraunt to exchange for the correct order. They refused to replace the order because they had quit making food over 10 minutes before close. They refused to refund the money because I didn't take back the wings since they were right. I only wanted the correct order or the sandwich refunded. They offered absolutely nothing to make the issue right. Chex should be embarrassed to deliver this horrible level of customer service. read more

Food is OUTSTANDING! Try the Pesto sub sandwich! My Mom had the Philly! She loved it. The beer battered FF are so good! I thought I wouldn't be able to eat them because the sandwich was so filling, but the I tried a ff. Then it was over for me! Soooo good and the young lady who helped us at the register was very kind and helpful! read more

Fast forward to 2024. The customer service wasn't very good. I am very specific about things and made sure to ask the young lady if they could add Italian dressing to the meat while it was cooking. Now, if it wasn't feasible, I would have understood. Remember, Italian dressing is basically vinegar because originally, I asked for vinegar but was told they didn't have any . The young lady seemed a little bothered by me asking for something as simple as that. Don't get me wrong, when I ate my cheesesteak, it wasn't bad, but I could tell the dressing was just drizzled on the lettuce and tomato, which had an odd placement under the meat. Again, I'm from a state known for its heroes/hoagies, and usually, you see lettuce and tomato on top, but that isn't a dealbreaker. But what is, is the customer service, and while she tried to smile, I could tell that apparently, I was a bothersome customer. As I told her, I am legally blind, so what I don't have in sight, I have elsewhere, and oh, especially my taste buds. With that said, I will not return. read more

Never miss on the wet lemon pepper wings. I don't try too much else as far as burger and salads but the wing on point.

Canceled my order after I was already waiting for 20 mins outside of the establishment for no reason at all or without no explanation.

The customer service is ok. The food is just ok. I love that they have so many different offers of sauces. That was cool. Hate their prices so I'm good. I've had better wings at a pizza joint. N I'm not talking Domino or pizza hut. read more

I placed my order over the phone and it was fast and easy. The customer service was very good and my food was ready and hot.

Great place to get wings! A lot of different choices for the sauces. You can't go wrong with the Chicken Philly. The House salad with grilled chicken was fantastic. The menu choices are plentiful and the food is always hot. Make sure you stop by and enjoy the food. Khalid greeted us at the door and the service was wonderful. The wait time was short and the food was prepared exactly how I wanted it. Good atmosphere you can sit and enjoy or take it out. read more

Will not be disappointed! I tried three flavors: strawberry hot, garlic parmesan, and lemon pepper. Did not disappoint. The strawberry hot was more hot than strawberry flavored like she said. Pretty sure it was more color but either way it was delicious. The garlic parmesan was buttery and not creamy like Buffalo Wild Wings which me personally can be a bit much sometimes. Will be back to try other flavors! read more

From the beginning of the shutdown, but I'm finally making this review 1.5 years later. Haven't been back. Hair was in a wing. Didn't even eat it. read more

I feel unfair leaving negative reviews for restaurants right now that everyone is short-staffed. But this was definitely a first and last time coming for us. My husband was craving wings, and rather than go to the corporate Buffalo Wild Wings we decided to try a local small restaurant. Mom and pop shops typically have some pretty good wings from our experience. This was not the case here. The menu was limited and the tables were dirty (bathrooms were worse), but I was hungry and we had yet to try the wings. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Wrap, my husband ordered 15 wings, and we ordered our son a kids chicken nugget meal. We also added 2 fountain drinks and a side of fries. The total was over $40. It took over 20 minutes to get our food even though there was no one in the restaurant when we arrived, and I held my baby on my lap because they had no high chairs or boosters. When the food finally came it was served in to-go containers and bagged. Everything inside was either packed in a brown paper bag or foil. My chicken wrap was cut in half with pieces of foil inside the wrap. The wrap itself was greasy with large chunks of croutons stuck together. I wasn't fond of the chicken seasoning either, not sure what it was. My husband said his wings weren't great, and my son only ate a small pack of celery that we were given, which is saying a lot because he loves chicken nuggets and fries. We ate what we could and left disappointed. For over 40 bucks, we would've definitely gone to BWW instead. read more

Great food, wonderful staff! Strawberry Hot me please! Chex has the best combination of flavors.

I usually go for honey hot, but strawberry hot is my new fav! Wings cooked to perfection; not too big, not too small.

Wings were great but fries in a bag not so much! Lemonade was AMAZING as well might try again just for a drink and wings.

So this was the first time I have ever eaten at this restaurant or this location, I've been in there multiple times but I have never physically ate there. I will say this, that was the best cheesesteak sub I have ever tasted in my entire life. And I eat those at any location that I go to that I've never been because that is the easiest thing to make if it's made well. And this was made perfectly well. I'm not a fan of french fries, but their french fries were not bad, they weren't too overly cooked and they were not too thick that you felt like you were biting a potato read more

You don't need to go anywhere else for wings, honestly. I've been to so many places that people have told me, "Oh you have to get those wings" and then they are sub-par or just okay. Chex is the real deal. A ton of sauce options, and the wings are enormous. Absolutely worth the price. Try the cajun ranch. Hands down, best wings in Gastonia. No question. No contest. read more

Wings were a good size and they didn't skimp on the sauce like a lot of places. I'd give them 5 stars if they could make them crispier. Will be back. read more
