I walked inside the store asking if he could come out and take a look at my tire, get a second opinion if it was driveable or not. After a few minutes of repeating myself and pointing outside where my car was and pointing back at the surveillance camera, he understood it as I needed the air turned on and he did just that, flipped the switch. With his thick Indian accent he also kept repeating "no mechanic today". I also kept telling him I wasn't looking for a damn mechanic. So I go back to my car, hoping another citizen would come by. It was slow that morning. The cashier comes out to survey my car, but doesn't even come near when I motion for him to help my way. His dad or something is nearby and he is just sending glances in my direction. Another minority parks next to me to get some air in his tires. When asked, he was able to give a quick glance at my front tire and concludes that my tire was ok and safe to drive to dealership (and he was right!). Whoever this stranger was, he came at the right time and place. I am grateful. Great corner location and a couple of exits from the 101 freeway off Matilda and San Aleso. But the sour experience or lack of customer service had this day, dampens what could've been a positive review. Then again, there's a reason why I'm a loyal patron of 76 gas, (just happened to pop in this Chevron location because it was a long the way). If you happen to come to this location, don't expect communication from the cashier.

I'm not big into conspiracy theories, but I truly do believe that they've tampered with their gas pumps to make them charge for more gas than you actually get. I know my car. When I was younger, I used to get gas whenever my tank went under half full, but now that I'm older and wiser (and more miserly), I drive way less than I used to, and I know that gas prices fluctuate over time, so I don't fill up until I have to, which is usually every other month, unless I'm driving to or from SoCal. My tank is pretty small, so when I do fill up, it's usually around 8 gallons or so. I've only seen the low-fuel light blink twice on my car, and both those times, I got about 9.1 gallons. When I came to this gas station, I needed gas, but not desperately. I wasn't even down to a single bar, which means the most gas I should have gotten was about 8 gallons. So you can bet that I was surprised when the pump shut off and I had supposedly filled my car with 9.3 gallons of gasoline. That had never happened before, and I don't believe it happened this time.
