    Cake

Super disappointed in the bakery department, I ordered an frozen theme cake and I was so sad to see how it turned out. It was nothing like the picture I picked out that they had the colors were all off and there was cracks all in the cake. I feel if you're gonna have these pictures to choose from they should be really close to what you offer. I understand it can't be identical, but this was not OK and of course I was stuck with it because I needed a cake for my daughter's fifth birthday So sad, and won't be going there ágain

Better quality control needed. Shitake mushrooms with spores and mold. Health hazard.

This was the tag that wasn't in the system on 5/26. It shows that the discount is active 5/22 through 5/28.

I'm starting to have mixed feelings about the discounts here. Today I needed to run in to grab some ingredients for a meal. One of the things that I needed was cheddar cheese. I noticed the attached tag on the shelf, but when I tried to scan the barcode in the Safeway app the discount didn't appear. My other discounts were ok. The thing is, $2 / 8oz is a reasonable price for cheddar cheese, $4.49 / 8oz is really high. I interacted with three employees. The employee in the self checkout: * Did her best to help me to find the offer * Offered to void the transactions for the cheese, allowing me to complete the rest of the checkout and go to customer servcice * Was facing a line of other customers who needed help, and handled the pressure really gracefully The employee at customer service helped me to find my QR code and then went to the shelf. I noticed that he pulled a trash can over and threw away the shelf tag on his way back. He then announced that the shelf tag expired on 5/22 (today is 5/26). The thing is: I took a photo of the tag when I first had trouble (hoping to save everyone some time). It clearly shows 5/22 - 5/28. He gave me the discount on the product, but I didn't appreciate the confusion around the expiration date. A third employee came by to pick up an order. I offered to step aside to let her help other customers. She was really nice about it (I'm doing something else right now...) She also stayed for part of the dispute around the expiration dates. This all seems too complicated to me. Things are busy on the holiday weekend, and the inconsistencies in the discounts are pitting the employees against the customers. Everyone was polite, but it's a lot simpler to go to a store where the price is the price.

This review is for their drive up service. DO NOT USE THEIR DRIVE UP!! Every time I use this service at this location it's a nightmare. They make me sit in the car for like twenty mins after I've arrived. I have to call and check on them. This time I ordered for 9 am pickup. I got an email that they're working on my order at 8:17. Then at 915 another email that sorry they're delayed. I called the 800 customer service on the email to check at 935 and they're like we'll send them a message. It should be ready by 10 for sure. I had my baby with me so I drove there and park in a spot and call that number and ask them and they say oh yeah it's ready we're bringing it out. I sit in the car for fifteen mins. No notifications on my phone. Finally she comes out and asks to see my code. I'm like you didn't send anything. She's like check your card and see if you got charged. I tell her did you mark it ready in your computer?! So she says she's gonna go inside and check her computer and I should check my card to see if I got charged. I sit another ten more mins. My kid was restless so I get him out of the car seat, go inside looking for her. I couldn't find her so I ask someone and they try to call her a couple times. I told them I don't care anymore, just charge my card that's in my hand so I can get out of here. Then she says let me check with my manager. She goes to her manager and she says it's fine and they can just give me my order since the app said they charged my card. We go back to my car and I finally get out of there at 10:25!! At 10:34 I get a text, your order is ready! By this time all my frozen stuff have been out of a freezer for thirty mins... And I don't even want one of the things that they substituted, so I have to go back in and return that. The Safeway on El Camino is so much better for drive up. They're always ready quick and the lady that usually brings out my stuff is so cheerful. One time she saw my kids in their car seats and she gave me a bottle of water for free for them... But that one is not on my way from school drop off so sometimes I use this one. If you want to start out your dayity... go to this location.

Nice 4th of July display. Red White and Blue Vodka? Who knew? I must have it!

The produce section was not as extensive as those at other Asian markets, but it was still adequate. However, the store carried many unique candies and snacks that I have not seen elsewhere. Notably, sakura flavored products were especially common during my visit. There were two large sections dedicated to premade meals, including rice bowls, hand rolls, onigiri, and sushi. The rolls seemed overly heavy on the rice, with relatively little fish filling. The prices also felt somewhat high for the portion sizes. However, the store offers a 20 percent discount on sushi and bento boxes daily after 6 PM. I ordered the nigiri combination, which included salmon, tuna, and scallop. The scallop was plump, and the tuna was sliced thickly. The salmon was slightly thin but still rich and fatty. Overall, the fish quality was good. The sushi rice was above average, with a distinct vinegar flavor despite being refrigerated. The total cost for the eight pieces was close to restaurant pricing, though the convenience factor partly justified it. I would rate this market a 3.5 out of 5 but rounded up for the good sushi rice. I would recommend shopping elsewhere for produce, but this is a good place for snacks and premade meals, especially after 6 PM.

The vegetables looked fresh, vibrant, and were packaged neatly. However, I did notice there were fewer juice and smoothie options than expected. Similarly, the meat and seafood sections were on the smaller side. There were standard cuts of beef and pork alongside a few marinated options, though less commonly used cuts were noticeably absent. There were reasonably priced salmon and tuna blocks available, but the selection of other fish and crustaceans was limited. That said, the seafood on display looked fresh, fatty, and high quality. There was a wide assortment of Asian frozen products and prices were noticeably a few dollars cheaper compared to other grocery stores nearby. As a dumpling and dim sum lover, I found myself gravitating toward the frozen section for quite some time. While most brands leaned Korean, there were still a variety of different Asian cuisines represented. There was also a bakery built into the store and the cakes looked beautiful. Most whole cakes were priced around $40. Unfortunately, the fried pastries were unavailable during my visit so I was unable to try the croquettes. The packaged baked goods also were not fully stocked despite my morning visit, which was one area that could be improved. I did enjoy the roasted sweet potato station though, which gave this corner of the store a warm and inviting smell. The prepackaged meal section was easily the most impressive part of the store. Dumplings, noodle dishes, and rice bowls were mostly priced under $10 and were generously packed with proteins and toppings. The banchan selection leaned heavily vegetable based, though I would love to see more seasoned protein options in the future. There was also a fried chicken station where customers could order individual pieces. The kimchi dumplings were plump and generously filled. The japchae was simple but satisfying, though I would not have minded a heavier hand with the sesame oil. The sushi was neatly prepared and the quality honestly felt comparable to what I would expect at a restaurant. Overall, this is a great market although I would not consider it a true one stop shop. I would likely pair this visit with another grocery store for a wider fruit and protein selection. However, this will absolutely become one of my preferred stops whenever I want convenient and affordable ready made meals.
