Love stopping in here on my way to Laughlin & Lake Havasu and of course on the way back home to Vegas. Has a cute little casino attached to it, clean bathrooms with maybe like 6 stales & McDonalds attached to it too. They sell some cute stuff inside the gas station. Souvenirs, blankets, kids toys, t-shirts, jackets, glasses, nick nacks, drinks, alcohol, chips, candy/snacks & some healthy food options too. If you get gas you can get a free fountain soda. Just let them know when your being rung up. Definitely a place worth checking on when driving thru. read more

Watch your credit card at the pumps! My wife used her CC at one of the pumps at this station and within hours I was notified of multiple fraudulent CC charges on the account totalling over $5,000. (We got them removed and a new card sent out.) I called the station to let them know and followed up to see if the employee had by chance discovered a credit card skimmer. She said no but of course I didn't think she'd admit it since the station could be liable. read more

This Terrible Herbst, aka Terrible's to the locals, is the casino in Searchlight, Nevada. Driving up US 95 from California to Las Vegas has little to do or see for many miles. So when Terrible's pops up you are happy to stop and stretch and look around a bit. Terrible's has a casino, convenience store, gas station, and a McDonald's in it. The casino is small and smoky that reminds you of the old days in Vegas. I peeked in once which was enough for me just to see what's going on. The convenience store has a good selection of souvenirs and food options-with good coffee selections, soft drinks, snacks, fruit, and Krispy Kreme donuts. It's fun to look at the souvenirs and travel items. The McDonald's is perfect to grab breakfast or lunch before making the last 65 miles to Las Vegas. While I wouldn't say this Terrible Herbst would be my first choice of casino if it was closer to town but we always stop on our drive. It is a wonderful sight after sitting for hours on a drive. read more

It's the gas station, what else is there to say. price can be expensive or reasonable.

I love taking trips to Laughlin because the wide open road between there and Vegas is so much fun to drive, especially in my sports car! Whenever I'm going down for a little time spent by the Colorado River, I usually make a pit stop at this Terrible's for a potty break, a cold soda, and sometimes gas. This is one of the only games in town in the teeny desert "oasis" of Searchlight, and it's a solid place. There's a McDonald's attached in case you want some cheap coffee and an Egg McMuffin or salty fries. Tourists looking for souvenirs can pick up some Nevada themed tchotchkes, too. The restrooms are usually surprisingly clean. Gas is expensive, but what would you expect? This location has a wide assortment of drinks and snacks, including healthy options like fresh fruit and cheeses. It's attached to a crappy casino, so the unpleasant cigar smoke wafts into the convenience store. But this is usually a quick in and out stop, so it doesn't really bother me. It's a decent place to stretch your legs after sitting in the car. read more

I'm a little perplexed by the number of stars this "gas station" receives on YELP. Terrible Herbst in Searchlight, NV, certainly isn't a real casino by any stretch of the imagination. It's nothing more than a layover filling station between Las Vegas and Laughlin, NV, and points beyond. As such, I highly recommend that you fill-up in Las Vegas when heading west and bypass the prohibitive gas prices you'll find at this glorified gas station. Even the gas prices in Laughlin are lower than you'll find here. Laughlin is only about fifty miles further west, by the way. Yes, Terrible Herbst has some travel facilities, like an unclean McDonald's, a tiny un-manned gaming room, dirty bathrooms, and an overpriced convenience store that charges exorbitant prices such as $3.00 for a banana and $2.00 for an apple. The McDonald's food here is atrocious, and they also demand more than other McD's elsewhere. Maybe it's the nature of this sleepy little town, but the employees don't so much as look at you when they take your money or answer your simple questions. When your business is contingent on travelers, you would think the staff would appreciate your business just a little bit? For my rating, I offer two-stars simply because if you're running low on gas, this is the only chance you have heading toward Laughlin or Las Vegas. read more

If you travel from Vegas to Laughlin you have probably passed this place and likely even stopped. Although it's just your run of the mill gas station with a McDonalds inside, it does have a few slot machines and clean bathrooms. You can get your run of the mill gas station drinks and snacks or pick something up from McDonald's. There is plenty of parking, it's easy in and out and the Main Street traffic speed is 25mph so you don't have a problem pulling out. read more

The McDonald's here has THE BEST fish sandwich I have ever had. The bun was toasted, the cheese to tartar sauce ratio was on point and I've been eating the fish sandwich for a long time and this one was the best. Good job! read more

On our way to Fort Mohave from Vegas to visit family, we always stop here to use the restroom. Since there is a small casino area inside, it smells like cigarette smoke. So glad I can get in and out of there quickly so as not to end up smelling like smoke. It is a Terrible's, so they have all of the same deals with drinks that you would find at the other locations. Bathrooms are decent, not the best. But this place is really busy, so they are fine. My last visit there was a woman cleaning the sink who looked miserable. She asked that I use another sink, and that was fine. I felt badly for her, as she looked overwhelmed. I got out of there quickly. Gas pumps are always busy, and allows for very large vehicles to get gas. Decent area to stop and get some snacks. With the McDonald's inside, there is that option as well. read more

I stop every time on my trips to Laughlin mostly for coffee at the McDonald's inside they also have a small casino with a bar. The gas is expensive and the restrooms went that clean but the place is always packed with travelers read more

I thought I had reviewed this Terrible's in Searchlight but it popped up as being my first check in. This is my restroom break whenever I've gone to Laughlin and for the year plus that our team volunteered for the National Park Service, we always stopped here for a quick break--restroom and soda or coffee. It's an easy turn off the highway and getting back on because Searchlight is the king of speed traps so people generally are going very slowly when they're in this area. That makes getting in and out quite easy. read more

Combo Casino Restaurant Gas Station McDonalds and Souvenir Shop with High Kitch Factor We stopped by for gas and restrooms. I. was surprised to find not only sparkling bathrooms, but an amusingly themed old West casino with McDonald's attached. I imagine this is the type of place locals could have a lot of fun playing slot machines until they are starving, then enjoy some McDoubles and keep right on going. I did not notice if they offered cocktails, but it would odd if they did since many of their customers are driving up to buy gas. read more

Beware of getting your credit card compromised! While driving btw Laughlin & Las Vegas, we stopped at this store for ice. My husband used his debit card (for the 1st time in 3+ months) to make the purchase. A week after our return we received notice of a charge attempt which we were able to block. However, 3 other charges totaling almost $250 were processed. read more

Who's house? I felt obligated to write a review of a gas station because I am the temporary Duke of this place. This Terrible's is located in the lovely town of Searchlight Nevada and when passing through, I always make sure I make a stop here. Main reasons for a quick visit is for gas, rest rooms, and a quick snack. But there's more. This Terrible's also has a gift shop, casino, and McDonalds. Terrible's in Searchlight has been a lifesaver, literally. Countless times making the trip between Las Vegas and Laughlin. And, countless times having to stop at Terrible's for a quick shot of caffeine. With that boost, I may not be Yay! I'm a fan. But seems like I gots no choice since this is the only highlight in Searchlight. read more

EVERYTHING YOU NEED AND THEN SOME. I love stoppin here not just because of necessity, but it's just a nice place to hang out and kick back for little bit. Besides getting gas as the obvious reason, their actual convenience store is what comes as a pleasant surprise. Like my first sentence, they have everything and more. I usually get my usual 5 hour energy and snacks. That's all I need for the road. But since this is the halfway point going to Laughlin from Vegas, they have so much more eye candy (literally) than your basic convenience store. They have Krispy Kreme donuts, various flavors of hot coffee not to mention different flavors of creamers. Did I mention they have fruit? Yes, they got bananas, apples, and oranges. I mean, how often do you see that in a middle of a nowhere gas station/convenience store? As if all that wasnt ridiculous enough, their store is connected to a McDonald's and a casino! Those two mentioned deserve their own review so im gonna leave that alone. So if it wasnt for this Terrible's, the town of Searchlight (refer to my review) would not be even a thought in most people's minds. read more

Their gas prices are over$0.20 per gallon higher than the ones right down the street. They had a sign clean restrooms. Well I can assure you the men's restroom was filthy when I was there. Paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor, one of the sinks ran continuously the entire time I was in there. On a bright spot the ladies at the counter were both pleasant. And on a bright note there is a McDonald's attached if your hungry. They also have lots of snack options. read more

Stopped here on a recent trip back from Cali and the restrooms are surprisingly clean! It really is in the middle of nowhere so I didn't have high expectations. Beware if you're actually heading to this place...speed limit is 25 mph on the highway directly in front of here and also on Nipton Rd, which is a major road that leads here. All I really came for was restroom use, but after cruising the aisles, I couldn't just walk by the Krispy Kreme display with mini french crullers (5 for $2). The little market inside has souvenirs as well--Tshirts, Keychains, lucky rabbit feet, etc. They even have produce here. Wow. I will definitely make sure I stop at this place whenever I am travelling to/from Vegas-Laughlin. I might as well stop, since I'm not allowed to drive any faster than a snail's pace while passing by. read more

I never thought I would review a gas station, but I stop here often. This place is fast, clean and friendly. Inexpensive water and snacks. Always fresh hot coffee so no need to even bother with the line at the McDonald's indoors. They also have some freshly prepared food. The only thing I think needs improvement is the bathroom maintenance. I imagine that they get a lot traffic so it's understandable that they get beat up throughout the day, but there is always a bit of mess. Other than that, this place is great. read more

Pump authorized for balance available on my card and then wouldn't dispense referring me to see a cashier. Find it interesting that it was their pump that created the issue and yet no one is either empowered to correct the issue or they don't care. Either way I suggest not using your card at this establishment unless you have a backup and don't mind waiting for your funds to be returned to you in 7-10 days. read more

Stopped in to get gas on the way home and the keypad wouldn't work at the pump. I went inside and there were 2 registers; there was a woman standing at one and there was no clerk and there was another clerk and there we maybe 4-5 people waiting for her. The male clerk came to the register, helped her and then motioned for the man in the other line to come over to his register. The gentleman motioned for me to go and Mr. Man Bun clerk shook his head "NO" motioned for the man to come over to his register. Never said a word to me. If he thought I was cutting in line he could have said "the line is over there" but to brush me off the way he did was very unprofessional and I will be calling corporate on Monday. read more

Very dumpy place that's almost impossible to get diesel at. The pumps are all sun faded and worn out none of the buttons are properly labeled. If you can find somewhere else to get your fuel I would recommend it. read more

Get your gas here if you're headed back to California! Service is good, station and restrooms are clean and they have a lower price than the station right down the street. It's a tight squeeze for gas but if you need diesel drive to the other side of the Chevron for roomier diesel pumps. read more

We stop here for gas often when commuting from Las Vegas to California or Arizona. We've never had a problem until our last stop to get gas. My boyfriend tried to get gas and after grabbing the nozzle on the pump gas starting spraying from the top of the hose which caused the nozzle to fly around spraying gas all over him and the ground. When we went inside to tell the female attendant working at the register she gave no sort of an apology and rudely said that they didn't give refunds for gas, then made a remark about my boyfriend smelling like gas. We thought that was that. After using the restroom and getting cleaned up a bit, a gentlemen named Ray, also a cashier at the stop, found us was very kind, apologetic and got us our refund. Not only did he take care of the pump issue he insisted that my boyfriend change his clothes since he smelled so strongly of gas. Ray actually ran to his house nearby and grabbed him some of his own clothes for him to keep and wear home for our trip back to Las Vegas. I don't generally take time to write my opinions but I want to give a huge shout out to Ray and let him know that his kindness was so greatly appreciated! It's not often you get the privilege to meet such a genuinely caring person like him. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! As for the rude female attendant at the register, she needs to a take note from Ray on how to treat people especially being in a position where you deal regularly customers. Her attitude toward the situation and her, I couldn't care less, mentality were less than acceptable which is why I only gave a 3 star rating. read more
