It ain't a road trip without stopping at Buc-ee's!…read more Everything is good and huge here. The brisket sandwich is to die for. They have so many good snacks to keep you munching on the road: jerky, candied pecans and nuts, Beaver Chips, soda, slushies, and all kinds of coffee to keep you hydrated and awake. The restrooms are clean and huge, especially the ladies' restroom. No need to wait in a long line! They also have souvenirs and so many other things to browse. The staff are super friendly. Everyone seems so proud and happy to work here, which makes the experience even better. The gas station has tons of pumps, so you won't have to wait long to fill up. Honestly, Buc-ee's is my favorite stop, even when I don't need gas, I'll still stop here. They have everything for everyone. Food, snacks, drinks, shopping, clean restrooms, and a fun road trip experience. Wh0 doesn't like to visit Bucc-ee's ?

Who knew a gas station could be a tourist attraction?!…read more Of all the fun things to do while visiting Austin, my son had Buc-ee's at the top of his list! Apparently, he had heard all about this legendary Southern pit stop from friends, and he was determined to experience it for himself. This place is an absolute adventure. We found the most RANDOM things! The wall of jerky was impressive, the quirky kitchen gadgets would make hilarious gifts, and the beauty aisle had me cracking up with its foodie-themed eye masks. My son spent a solid 45+ minutes debating what souvenir was worthy of making the trip home. And then there's the FOOD. Holy options! Watching the crew prepare sandwiches right in front of you was practically entertainment in itself. They have quite the operation going! We were dangerously close to grabbing a box of fudge because the deal was too good to pass up, but we didn't want to over-do-it. Instead, we shared a chopped brisket sandwich and a Cuban. Both were delicious, but that Cuban?! The dill pickle aioli was fantastic, and the sandwich was absolutely loaded with meat. We were stuffed! My only complaint? For a place with this much food, "where are the tables?" We ended up eating in the car, which turned into a deliciously messy situation. A little indoor seating would've made the experience even better. On the plus side, gas was the cheapest we saw around, restrooms were plentiful, and the sandwich deal was a steal! Less than $10 for each of our sandwiches? Buc-ee's is officially more than a gas station in my book. It's a shopping excursion, food adventure, and roadside attraction all rolled into one. We'll absolutely be making this a mandatory stop whenever we're traveling down South!

It seems the servers ALWAYS end breakfast early...sometimes they say they only have lunch items around 10 o' clock (not okay). The service is not the best, they seem very laid back & not customer friendly. No apologies for CONSTANTLY not serving breakfast up until the time they are suppose to. And it seems as if now the food quality is going down as well. Today the rice tasted a bit off & we only received ONE PIECE of fajita in both are fajita tacos....that's just unacceptable. I have contacted the main offices in regards to my experience with them because I have just had it with the horrible experience over and over again.

Plus, QTs we stopped at in Dallas had these AMAZING sugar free blue raspberry Icees... so the combo of mozz sticks AND sugar free blue raspberry icees got me to bypass Buc-ee's and cross under the highway and pull into this gas station. Unfortunately, the mozz sticks were sitting under a heat lamp... and if you know anything about mozz sticks is that they do not do well once they are pulled from the fryer. Heat lamp mozz sticks just wouldn't hit the same. Then came the $4 price tag for 4 sticks. Meh... seems steep for gas station heat lamp mozz sticks. We passed on them. But perhaps the Icee could redeem this stop??? Nope. No sugar free options, let alone a blue raspberry SF option. We used the restroom and left empty handed. Silver lining is that we didn't have to fight Buc-ee's crowds.

Tacos are $2.50 or $3.50 each, depending on the taco. The attendant who took our order translated for the cook. All the ingredients were more on the Mexican side of Tex Mex. If you ask for spicy salsa, they give you a little bit of what looks like a cool, green creamy avocado salsa. But don't get fooled by appearances. It packs a wallop! We each two tacos each and were very full. I had a mole taco and a barbacoa taco. My wife had bacon egg and cheese tacos. They were all generously filled. They're authentic enough that you really don't need to add cheese. And the bacon was the type you get at the Super Mercado, not at HEB. It's all pretty authentic, and I'm glad it's so close to home. I'm keeping my 5-star rating for this place. It's an Aim Mart now (no longer Woodies), with an Exxon out front, this Mexican place, Hunt Brothers Pizza, clean restrooms and a beer cave inside. They have nice 70% dark chocolate bars (several to choose from), and your standard convenience store items. Each has pump has a squeegee with soapy water.
