I've been told many times if you see a Buc-ee's you have to stop in, and that was sound advice…read more This is like the Disneyland of gas stations - if that can even be described as a thing. So many things happening in this place - people making fudge, candied nuts, all kinds of jerkee; a huge BBQ station where employees shout out every time they either make or sell a sandwich? All kinds of fun merchandise - from clothes to shoes, to toys - a full gift shoppe. Employees are amazing - engaged, kind, energetic - definitely seem to care about what they do. Management salaries are posted out front for hiring purposes - pay is real high which is great, but even better, seems like those managers are doing a great job leading employees for that $$$ So, if you ever see a Buc-ee's I recommend you go in and see it - it's pretty hard to explain but it is quite something.

Visiting friends in Austin, they told me my trip wouldn't be complete without a stop at Buc-ee's…read more Naturally, I asked them to describe it. Their explanation? "It's a BIG gas station that sells EVERYTHING." And if I was lucky, I might even see Buc-ee in the flesh. Lmao. I'm always down to try something new, so off we went. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. First of all, this is not just a gas station it's a full-blown destination! Lol. I've never seen so many gas pumps in my life! Then you walk inside and it's absolute sensory overload in the best way possible. There's a whole brisket situation happening, fresh-made tortillas, a gazillion candies and snacks, fresh fudge, corn pops, an entire wall of jerky, and yes... a Buc-ee's clothing line. Ahahahhaha. Hoodies, pajamas, mugs, seriously, the beaver is everywhere!!! This place is massive! Like Costco massive. Lol. But the true star of the show was the Buc-ee mascot himself because I was lucky enough to meet him and get a photo-op. Iconic! That alone made the stop worth it! I walked out with several snacks and zero regrets. If you're visiting Texas for the first time, it's a must-stop experience. I was genuinely entertained which is not a feeling I normally associate with walking into a regular gas station in California. Lol.

I've NEVER had anything but great experiences. The service is great! They have a little bit of everything you may want to snack on, the atmosphere is and always has been friendly and inviting. I recently requested they buy a certain type adult beverage and a few days later, they were kind enough to start carrying it. Not to mention, they fly the flags of our Armed Services, even when threatened by the HOA! Keep up the good work my friends, y'all are amazing!

This is our neighborhood convenience store. My husband and I went in on Saturday to buy charcoal,…read morelighter fluid, and beer, and ended up getting very bad/rude customer service. When we sat everything up on the counter, the cashier asked to see ID. I asked if she needed to see both (he drove, so luckily I brought my wallet), and she said "I'm sure he's buying it, but since you touched the beer, I need to see yours too." We both provided our IDs. (By the way, why was she sure he was buying it? Some women are actually allowed to have their own money/make purchases for themselves these days!) I had never heard about a "touching" related rule for buying alcoholic beverages, so I asked whether it was a different law for convenience stores than it was for grocery stores, or what, and the cashier became visibly angry and would only repeat over and over that she "worked there" and refused to answer any questions, asking why I wanted to know since she was letting us buy the beer. I told her that I'm a person who is interested in learning things, but that didn't seem to help. Anyway, I don't think that "anyone who is accompanying a person buying alcohol, and who touches the drink in question, must provide valid ID" would work as a store policy. What about people who bring in their 10 year old children? If a kid helps their parent carry stuff to the register does that mean the parent can't buy alcohol? I used to shop at a grocery store in Abilene near the conservative religious university that I attended for graduate school, and I was used to both my husband and I being carded there (so if this cashier had said "yes" when I asked whether she needed to see both of our IDs, rather than giving a nonsensical explanation related to "touching," I wouldn't have pursued it any further), but that had nothing to do with whether someone "touched" the alcoholic beverage and everything to do with the fact that the store was near a college campus, and one belonging to the Church of Christ, at that. So I'm a little put off by that cashier's attitude. Before this point I'd come in a few times at the beginning of my morning commute, to buy breakfast tacos or biscuits, and they tasted okay (not great) and the two women working in the morning were quite pleasant and willing to engage in conversation. I can't say that I won't hesitate to come to this store in the future, but I'm sure I'll be back eventually. Hopefully this experience was an anomaly for one reason or another.

I used to really like this little hole-in-the-wall convenience store--I don't drink, so I've never…read morebeen to the liquor store side, but the convenience store side has a bunch of little trinkets and stuff including several items that most smoke shops in bastrop don't have. I've only ever seen one woman working, and she has always been nice & kind. UNTIL TODAY. I know they close at 8. I have had a long day working at home, and it takes me 20 min to drive into town, and today I'm doing it purely to come here because I like them, and they conveniently carry stuff I need. But wouldn't you know, I pull up at 7:48 and they are walking out. I think that's odd, they're closing almost 15 min early which is pretty crappy business practice, but regardless oh great I've caught them just in time. How foolish of me to think so...I wave to the woman, who surely recognizes me as a regular customer at this point, and say oh I'm just in time I only need one thing! and she looks at the older man who presumably runs the liquor shop and he starts shaking his head saying "no no no no, 8 o'clock we out of here!" Mind you, THE TIME IS NOW 7:50, and I pulled up several minutes ago. But they do not have one care, and lock their damn doors in my face. The trouble actually started yesterday (Sunday; the above happened on a Monday)--their hours on every online map & resource say the convenience store side is open on Sundays from 3-8pm. So I drive that damn 20 min to show up at 3:30-no one. Their barely legible hand scrawled hours on the door say closed on Sundays, of course. The liquor part yes, but why the store part? Alright whatever, great, perfect y'all, please make sure your freaking hours are updated on the internet, it's not that difficult! So that was another however many gallons of gas wasted two days in a row. Mostly I was just really let down & disappointed because I thought I'd found a perfect little place to make my new shop, but after this evening, having the door locked in my face 10+ min before closing time, it left me feeling really unvalued as a customer--like they don't give a crap, they just want to leave ASAP. Which also says something about the sort of establishment this probably is and what it's like to work at. Needless to say, I won't be returning:( and am back on the hunt again for a smoke shop with a decent selection & price range that doesn't require me to drive 45 min into Austin. Ugh.

My friend who is purchasing comes outside and we wait about 1 minute for the friend using the restroom. Once that individual was in the car we stayed and were chatting for maybe 4-5 minutes to figure out what our plans were next. I get an angry glare from an employee with longer white hair. So I make confused face and she comes outside. Her first words were "can I help you" which of course rubs me the wrong way considering yes you did just help us actually inside when purchases an item from you store.... Then her next words are... "Well I can call The police" ....EXCUSE ME?!?!?!?!?!? Where was I wrong here folks? My honest opinion is because we are all in our mid 20's she was assuming we were up to something???? I'm not sure what her reasoning was.. So I politely pulled away when she said she would call the police ( for no reason ). I wanted to get an explanation because it's not fair for anyone to treat someone that way. I called up to the store to only communicate with the same immature woman. She wouldn't give me her name, the only info she would give me was the managers name and what time she came in the next day. She was rude. Yelling. She hung up in my face more than three times so of course I tried to call back and she wouldn't even answer. HOW DOES THIS PERSON HAVE A JOB IN CUSTOMER SERVICE???? I was getting no where with her so I waited until the next morning to talk to the manger... She first told me she hadn't heard about the situation and then after I explained my side she quickly responds "that's not what I heard" wow.... So you did know what happened....?! She clearly wasn't interested in making me happy, calm me down , or try and explain Its a manager in customer service I find that COMPLETELY unacceptable. I asked her to watch the cameras and she rudely replied she had a lot of stuff to do (at a gas station) and didn't know when she would have time. All I wanted was an apology.. And it's now a week and a half later and her "promised" call never came..... Nor an apology. Claps for Martha
