Everything is bigger in Texas, and Buc-ee's may be the poster child for that saying. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, the scale is impressive. Rows upon rows of gas pumps stretch across multiple sections, making it feel more like a fueling complex than a gas station. OMG!!! Step inside, and the experience gets even bigger. The place is enormous, with bright lighting, oversized signage, and enough merchandise to keep you wandering through the store for hours. Buc-ee's branding is everywhere, from water bottles and tumblers to outdoor furniture and clothing. One of the first things you'll notice is how incredibly clean everything is, especially the restrooms. My favorite feature? The red and green occupancy lights above each stall, eliminating the awkward lean-and-peek maneuver to check for availability. The food selection is a major highlight and far beyond what you'd expect from a typical travel stop. Fresh barbecue, brisket tacos, sandwiches, and the famous Beaver Nuggets are at your fingertips. There is also an astonishing selection of jerky, both packaged and freshly sliced, along with endless snacks, sweets, and drinks. And yes, they even have an in-store tortilla station. I definitely wasn't expecting that. Buc-ee's stands out for its sheer variety. Beyond the food, you'll find clothing for adults and children, swimwear, home goods, souvenirs, gifts, and enough Texas-themed merchandise to outfit an entire ranch. It feels like a travel center, gift shop, convenience store, and mini department store all rolled into one-stop shopping. Needless to say, Buc-ee's is a whole vibe. What started as a quick gas stop turned into an unexpectedly entertaining detour, and I thoroughly enjoyed my swing through.

I hope they keep their prices competitive, but I'm seeing more competition around them, so I might start trying other places. Ultimately, price is the most important factor for me.

We each two tacos each and were very full. I had a mole taco and a barbacoa taco. My wife had bacon egg and cheese tacos. They were all generously filled. They're authentic enough that you really don't need to add cheese. And the bacon was the type you get at the Super Mercado, not at HEB. It's all pretty authentic, and I'm glad it's so close to home. I'm keeping my 5-star rating for this place. It's an Aim Mart now (no longer Woodies), with an Exxon out front, this Mexican place, Hunt Brothers Pizza, clean restrooms and a beer cave inside. My friend who is purchasing comes outside and we wait about 1 minute for the friend using the restroom. Once that individual was in the car we stayed and were chatting for maybe 4-5 minutes to figure out what our plans were next. I get an angry glare from an employee with longer white hair. So I make confused face and she comes outside. Her first words were "can I help you" which of course rubs me the wrong way considering yes you did just help us actually inside when purchases an item from you store.... Then her next words are... It seems the servers ALWAYS end breakfast early...sometimes they say they only have lunch items around 10 o' clock (not okay). The service is not the best, they seem very laid back & not customer friendly. No apologies for CONSTANTLY not serving breakfast up until the time they are suppose to. And it seems as if now the food quality is going down as well. Today the rice tasted a bit off & we only received ONE PIECE of fajita in both are fajita tacos....that's just unacceptable. Mind you, THE TIME IS NOW 7:50, and I pulled up several minutes ago. But they do not have one care, and lock their damn doors in my face. The trouble actually started yesterday (Sunday; the above happened on a Monday)--their hours on every online map & resource say the convenience store side is open on Sundays from 3-8pm. So I drive that damn 20 min to show up at 3:30-no one. Their barely legible hand scrawled hours on the door say closed on Sundays, of course. The liquor part yes, but why the store part? Alright whatever, great, perfect y'all, please make sure your freaking hours are updated on the internet, it's not that difficult! So that was another however many gallons of gas wasted two days in a row. Mostly I was just really let down & disappointed because I thought I'd found a perfect little place to make my new shop, but after this evening, having the door locked in my face 10+ min before closing time, it left me feeling really unvalued as a customer--like they don't give a crap, they just want to leave ASAP.
