THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!!! First of all the "free" vacuum they offer, if you use their car wash, comes in the form of a token that conveniently DOES NOT WORK in any of their vacuum machines. You don't find that out until you have paid for your car wash. 2nd... when you use you debit card to then pay for the vacuum that should have been free, they load your card with unauthorized charges... AND nobody ever answers the phone... be very leary of this owner. I am now in the process of having my credit card company reverse my charges because it is impossible to contact the owner. read more

I have always had a good experience and thought that the automatic car wash did a great job on my car. If there was ever an issue the owners were quick to respond and make sure I was satisfied with the resolution they provided. [TLDR: Didn't clean the car, go somewhere else.] I paid for the top $12 wash in the soft-touch automatic car wash. The wash itself seemed pretty rough on my small car, and was extremely short for the long list of features the top wash had. I received 2 tokens for the vacuums (for use on the vacuums along the back wall). The vacuums could be a little stronger and last a little longer. My main complaint is that my whole car didn't even get clean. My wheels are all dirty, and there's a big dirt spot on both sides of my car (pictures), as well as dirt still on the back, and there was still bird poop on the window. This wasn't worth the money AT ALL. I haven't had this trouble with other automatic washes in the past, even the little gas station ones seem to get my entire car clean (and my car isn't that big). I'd recommend going elsewhere to get your car washed. read more

This place really has some problems. There is never an attendant and you can bet something is always going to go wrong. I went last week and went through the automatic car wash and my car came out looking like it wasn't even washed. That was a waste of $12 and no recourse. Then today my husband tried to use the automatic bay and it was blocked off. So he went to one of the self wash bays and got his car all soaped up, added more money to rinse and NOTHING!!! So he had to go to yet another bay to get his car rinsed off. I say skip this place and go somewhere else. read more

I've been washing my vehicles here for years!! The only issue I had was a quarter getting stuck in the machine and I called and there was a service tech that came in less than 5 minutes and fixed the issue plus gave me 20 minutes of run time on the clock for the trouble!! Washed my car twice and the water pressure wasn't strong enough to clean my car. I called the number on the window and it's out of service, so I called the second number and it too was out of service. This has got to be the worst car wash I have ever been to. I wish I could leave 0 stars. Over expensive. Advertises free vacuums and you have to pay. The automatic car wash is terrible and the hand wash sprayer is so weak all it does is get your car wet. Went to Brite & Shiny Carwash over there by the Sears in Bastrop. Usually I have no problem at all with this car wash and have used it many times without any real problems. This week I went in and wanted to vacuum out my truck. I noticed a new set of vacuums across the back wall and decided to give them a shot. I unloaded the kids car seats, all the mats and everything else that gets in the way when you vacuum out your vehicle. Then I put a dollar in the machine, and nothing happened, so I put in another dollar thinking maybe because they are new they cost more, but "maybe work better?" Nothing happens so I start reading the front of the machine to see if there is an on button or something. The sign said, "Push Button to start" but there was no button at all. The sign above the machines said "Free Vacuum". I figured I got a machine that was not working but decided not to risk it as I was then unclear if any of the new machines were working at all. I started looking for a number to call as there was no attendant there at all at the time. I could not find any number to call. I used the old set of vacuums and they worked fine. Fast forward a few days to Saturday Sept 12 2015. I was driving by and saw there was an attendant. I decided to stop and explain what happened. The attendant, Andrew acted like he did not really care that I lost my money at all and actually told me he thought I should have known those vacuums were not working because the sign in front of the car-wash said "free vacuum coming soon" (which I never even noticed before) The point I made to him was that while they might have still been in the process of getting the new vacuum system on line they should have posted signs that said "out of order" or put some tape over the quarter hole or a sign on the vacuum itself saying that you shouldn't put any money in it. He didn't want to give me my money back and acted like "how dare I even ask him for a refund". I asked for a number where I could speak to a manager or owner etc. He would not give me the number but called the owner instead, told her I was "attacking his character" because I told him that it seems like he does not care at all that the machine took my money. He finally put her on the phone with me and she jumped down my throat because of what he said to her. I explained to her what happened and after a little back and forth she finally agreed to give me the $2 back, however it was like pulling teeth. I explained to her that it was not the money at all. 1.My main complaint was the misleading nature of the vacuums. 2. There should be a more clear number to reach someone if there is a problem. (what if they had a water leak or something? Someone cant report it if there is no number to contact anyone.) The owner said she specifically does not post the number because she wants to avoid solicitation calls. 3. It should have not been like pulling teeth to get my $2 back once I finally did reach an attendant. 4. (and this is not just a brite and shiny issue) There should be better explanations about how your credit card will be billed when you use the credit card system. In conclusion I will not use this car wash to clean my vehicles any longer. With so many other options in town, I will just use a car wash that is a little more attentive to their customers. read more

If you want to waste $12, take your vehicle through the car wash and come out of the car wash with the same dirt on your vehicle... Then this is the car wash for you!!! I'm pretty sure my shower at home has better water pressure than this car wash. read more

Normally I have no problems and like this car wash. However, I purchased a car wash ($10) and it only rinsed my car as I went in and then flashed me to exit. I've tried to contact someone and not only do they not answer phones but you can't leave a message and the contact on the website is bogus. Won't be back and I frequent this place. Save your money. After a $12 manual wash, my truck was still as dirty as when I got there with bugs and dirt still on it. I spent my first $2 washing out the bay of mud, leaves, trash and moss. The place is NEVER manned to address the cleanliness of the wash bays, my vacuum took the money and never even came on this time. In 20 years of stopping here off and on with who knows how many owner changes, the place is still a dump. One of these days, I hope these Austin area car washes figure out that the cleaning power is in the soap, not the pressure. Run your water through the softener first and you'll have 100% spot free water and it will save the rest of your equipment in the long run. In a previous visit, the auto wash ripped off a wiper blade. This place has gotten my last quarter!!! read more

I drove my car through and did not get a proper wash. My car was still dirty. I chose the silver wash which was suppose to give me a rinse, presoak, wash, rinse, clear coat. All it did was give me a 30 second fine mist rinse, a very short supposedly wash with the long sponges, and then a rinse. It did not give me the under wash nor the clear coat. My car was still dirty in spots all around the car. Very disappointed. I will never use this car wash again. I tried repeatedly to call, but no one ever answered the phone. Find something better. I've used this wash for a Fales years now and it has done nothing but get worse. The brushless wash doesn't provide the services paid for. The self service wash bays are poorly maintained and many features barely work. read more

Came to Bright & shiny car wash on old Austin Hwy in Bastrop to wash my single cab Silverado and had to spend $ 21.00 to wash my truck that wasn't really dirty. I was I bay #2 and it kept shutting off while I was washing and trying to rinse off the soap. But the time didn't stop in fact it even jumped time while I was trying to get it to start up again. The tech said he knew there was a problem with it and a service tech was on his way from Buda. Couldn't use spot rinse because no water would even come out of it when you pushed the button. Again the tech offered no help other then to tell me he knew and a service tech was on his way. Should have washed my truck at home. Not sure I will use them again. Have had trouble here before but the tech was always willing to help resolve the issue. This tech wouldn't even offer to let me spot rinse my truck in a different bay even after his seeing the time jump 2.5 minutes while we were looking at it. Dryer blower was not long enough to keep vehicle from spotting. Lots of water spots. There were signs everywhere stating that the vacuums were free if you washed your car. We had the $10 wash. We couldn't find any that did not require coins to operate. There was no explanation of how to get a free vacuum. read more

This car wash is AWFUL!! My first mistake....I bought the $12.00 premium wash!! With the $12.00 wash I was suppose to get 2 tokens dispensed for free vacuum service. Well, surprise...no tokens....and YES, I followed the instructions and pushed the button on the screen AND then pushed the "done" button, so I did as instructed...and zilch! Next, there was NOTHING premium about the wash. It was a quick, basic at best, wash. The instructions when entering the wash state to turn on your windshield wipers. I did this and immediately turned them off when instructed. About 15 seconds after turning off my wipers, the car wash "sponges" literally pulled up my left wiper blade in a full upright position. Obviously, I couldn't do anything about it while the wash was going. It stayed up until I exited and fortunately it was not damaged and I was able to get it back down. If you are using this bay, it may be smart to just not turn on your wipers regardless of the instructions! Next, I pull into the "free vacuum" area and locate a "car wash vendor" working in one of the bays. He was able to give me 2 tokens out of his truck, although he did not work at the car wash. This was the ONLY positive experience I had at this car wash! I then took my 2 tokens over to the vacuum machine, which proceeded to immediately "eat" my first token and the vacuum didn't turn on (why should this be a surprise?!?!). I then move my car over to the next vacuum bay and my other token managed to get the vacuum to work. The vacuum stayed on for a brief period so I had to feed it $1.00 in coins to complete my vacuum. As I was vacuuming, I noticed a gazillion wood screws, bolts and nuts all around the immediate area. It is a wonder I didn't also get a flat tire. I picked up as many of these as I could, hoping to prevent someone else from getting a flat. I'm sure I didn't get them all, so be careful of loose screws on the pavement if you go to this location. All in all....my experience at this car wash was dreadful. There is NO WAY I would recommend this place to anyone and I will never return to it. I bought my "ticket" for this wash at the Murphy USA gas station next to Walmart. If Walmart management had any sense (okay...I'm not even going there on THAT subject!!) they would stop sending their customers to this awful car wash!! read more
