He is very giving of his time, knowledge, and is the most collaborative of the 3 Architects we have used on the 2 other custom homes we have built. As an example, even before we signed a contract he made multiple site visits to give us his friendly professional insight about several lots we were considering before we selected the property we ultimately purchased. He was extremely accommodating and friendly throughout the entire process. Collaboration is his priority from the beginning and he made it very convenient through the use of screen share as we designed the home together. We were really impressed with the architectural 3D model that Daniel created. It was amazing that we were able to have a computer-generated 3D model to visualize the complete exterior as well as the outdoor entertaining, outdoor kitchen, and the pool and spa area. We were able to have the majority of our meetings in the evenings after we got off work and we even did a screen share to collaborate on our laptop while we were out of town visiting family. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about both the architectural and contractual aspects of building, but he seems to have a great instinct for what the client is looking achieve. He also had the desire to study alternatives and create several layouts that might make the most sense for the lifestyle we described. Our custom home is amazing and we would definitely recommend him to our friends. We enjoyed the process of the architectural design of our custom home and even more surprisingly we enjoyed the building process that is often stressful. Instrumental in our smooth building process was Daniel's custom home building budget that he accurately laid out from the beginning giving us many options and associated costs. Daniel's project management and selection of the builder really took confusion out of the process and stress off of our lap. Other critical details that made build successful was his guidance and assistance with the interior design, kitchen, and bath design, and selection of all of our interior finishes and fixtures. Our kitchen and bathrooms really stand out with exceptional design and we are very grateful for that. All in all the 3% that he charged to be a complete steward of our project was an easy decision. We started our build back in December of 2020 and our home was done in exactly six months, in June of 2021. We had two home inspections done by an independent inspector, and although no major concerns came back they were very prompt and attentive to our warranty requests. Even after our home was finished the on-site manager kept in touch with us and kept communication open. A few minor issues came around (nothing major, just some caulk fill-ins and paint touches) and they were always very quick to respond. Fast forward to today, when I discovered that I had a leak on my water main. Within ten minutes they had sent someone out to fix it up, and even though it was technically out of warranty they still took care of it because it might not have been installed absolutely correctly. In this day and age of houses being thrown up every hour and subpar standards and practices, I'm so thankful that we've gotten so lucky these past few years. I can't recommend Brightland enough, and I hope that everyone has an experience as pleasant as ours!

Ant infestations, cracked foundations, gardens full of rocks and trash and soda cans that no landscaping would survive in after planted, visibly literal wavy drywall hallways, nails popping out everywhere, walls cracking across entire rooms, the entire house plumbing flooded our first night in our house when someone tried to shower. Water came from tubs and toilets and flooded the house. Light fixtures werent hung evenly over bathroom mirrors, tried to open a window and spring popped out and almost cut my finger completely off!! Ants infested our house from day 1 until we moved out. Was told the community pool would be put in the summer we moved in and it still wasnt put in 7 years later. The project manager of the community lived in the neighborhood when we moved in and he built his house completely to obviously better standards and even took landscaping plants and trees from other properties to put in his own yard. The houses started falling apart so bad people were showing up at his house and he moved completely from the neighborhood because of it. They were giving loans through bank of america to people who shouldnt have qualified and kept these people approving move in nspection walk thrus aggressively threatening to pull out your approval if you didnt!!! Stay far away from these people, they changed their name but cant hide from the internet, look up Gehan homes especially Stone Creek Ranch in Fort Worth Tx

Not only myself, but more than a dozen of my neighbors have standing water for more than 72 hours after a rain. In a heavy rain, parts of my back yard and front yard are under more than 3 inches of water. The water has no way to make it out to the street for runoff. I saw there was obvious problems with the grading of the yard at time of purchase. The lot is hard clay and there is not a proper angle from the back, out to the street. The grading is not smooth and has many, many low spots. Despite my better judgement, I trusted the construction manager on his word that he would fix the issues post purchase. I was told they had problems with the contractors they used for the landscaping and were working on getting another. Eventually, the construction manager stopped answering my texts and I filed an official warranty request. It's been more than a month since that happened. I never get an update on what the status is on that until I ask for it, and then I am told about paperwork, and how it's gonna be soon, week after week. Meanwhile, I have to wait to stain my fence for fear it is going to get torn up, and I have to wait to do any gardening, while Spring time passes me by. The rest of the house is nice. I loved the layout, the tile, and the cabinets, for the price. The area is mostly quiet, except for the occasional train (which they never told me about). They've been good about fixing all the very minor things until now. Be ware, you are likely to run into the same issues. Just ask the current residents, as you walk the neighborhood.

In addition to the under cabinet lighting they threw in completely new can lights as well. The final result looks phenomenal, and our only regret is not hiring them earlier! There are so many horror stories about kitchen remodels out there but I can say that none of them were true here. Let me start by saying: building a house is a lot. With any builder. Homes are made of thousands of parts, so it's never a question of if something won't go as planned -- it's a question of how your builder responds when it happens. There were some hiccups during my 8 mo build with Tilson. Most came down to my understanding of what I'd ordered not being relayed to construction exactly as I intended. Here's what I learned -- and what I'd recommend to anyone building a custom home: 1 Document everything. Take notes during every sales appointment and send them to your salesperson to confirm. Include pictures, sketches, and written recaps. Tilson allows an incredible amount of customization (I was shocked by how much I could personalize), but with that flexibility comes room for miscommunication. My salesperson, Sarah, handled what was probably a record number of change orders with patience and grace -- and in the end, we worked through every hiccup. 2 Review your final plans in detail. Don't rush this step. Ask to sit down with your builder to go through everything together before signing off. 3 Keep perspective. Not every small issue is the end of the world. I had to remind myself of this often. Our builder, Dustin, was the real deal -- one of those "do the right thing even when no one's watching" kind of people. The kind they mean when they say, "Are there any good men out there?" His construction supervisor, Chance, was cut from the same cloth. Dustin took our calls and texts morning, night -- probably everything short of bathtime. Most importantly, both Dustin and Chance always made us feel heard. They cared not just about the job, but about us -- and that's a rare thing in construction. After closing, David, the warranty rep, came out to take care of a small touch-up and was pleasant and professional. There's still one window item that Tilson will be taking care of, but we're posting our review now because we trust that they'll make it right and follow through. Was it 8 months of pure bliss? Nope. Were there bumps along the way? Yep. But when bumps happened, Tilson did the right thing -- and that's what matters most to us. The reason for our five stars isn't that everything went perfectly... it didn't -- it's because of the way Tilson worked with us to make things right. That's what we'll remember most about our build. Now, thanks to my amazing designer and Tilson Custom Homes, we're waking up in our stunning new home -- surrounded by land, critters, sunsets, and peace -- and I couldn't be more grateful that God's plan had us ending up right here. I was out working in Presidential Meadows curb painting an address for a customer and I noticed a…read moregiant, jacked up pickup going too fast down the street. I drove a couple houses down to do another job and it happened to be across from said truck. I noticed the truck had a stupid ass Uncle Sam/Bald Eagle wrap around the bottom. I guess taste is subjective. Guy comes out of the builder home and I say hey and he grunts and speeds off as I finish the job. Turns out he works for KB HOMES. One of his co-workers on the job confirmed it. I drove away and the elderly lady I did the job for called me almost in tears that the big truck that was across the street came back and ruined the job. She gets medication in the mail and was hoping the delivery people would be able to find her home easier. This big stupid looking Chet motherfucker pulled up onto her curb and ran his tires along the curb to smear the paint. I'm not certain it was intentional but man if I drove a 100k penis I'd be a little more careful how I mess up my tires. I redid her paint and she parked her car in front of it so he didn't do it again. Either way FUCK THAT DUDE- have fun getting the paint off your tires Chet. There's a picture of his truck below.
