We was…read moreimpressed with his architectural vision from the beginning and after 10 in-person meetings ( 3 in person and 6 via zoom ) we had a fully developed architectural 3D model that we give you from all sides. Daniel was very generous with his time and since we have quite a few impressive views we wanted to capture all of the views perfeand all of the Hill Country ambiance

5 star Architect for a reason!…read more Daniel has an architectural approach that I believe people will find very rare and refreshing these days. He is very giving of his time, knowledge, and is the most collaborative of the 3 Architects we have used on the 2 other custom homes we have built. As an example, even before we signed a contract he made multiple site visits to give us his friendly professional insight about several lots we were considering before we selected the property we ultimately purchased. He was extremely accommodating and friendly throughout the entire process. Collaboration is his priority from the beginning and he made it very convenient through the use of screen share as we designed the home together. We were really impressed with the architectural 3D model that Daniel created. It was amazing that we were able to have a computer-generated 3D model to visualize the complete exterior as well as the outdoor entertaining, outdoor kitchen, and the pool and spa area. We were able to have the majority of our meetings in the evenings after we got off work and we even did a screen share to collaborate on our laptop while we were out of town visiting family. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about both the architectural and contractual aspects of building, but he seems to have a great instinct for what the client is looking achieve. He also had the desire to study alternatives and create several layouts that might make the most sense for the lifestyle we described. Our custom home is amazing and we would definitely recommend him to our friends. We enjoyed the process of the architectural design of our custom home and even more surprisingly we enjoyed the building process that is often stressful. Instrumental in our smooth building process was Daniel's custom home building budget that he accurately laid out from the beginning giving us many options and associated costs. Daniel's project management and selection of the builder really took confusion out of the process and stress off of our lap. Other critical details that made build successful was his guidance and assistance with the interior design, kitchen, and bath design, and selection of all of our interior finishes and fixtures. Our kitchen and bathrooms really stand out with exceptional design and we are very grateful for that. All in all the 3% that he charged to be a complete steward of our project was an easy decision. We will definitely be using him in the future and so will our friends that are very impressed with our the result as well as our highly detailed and accurate design and building process.

We found their gorgeous home in Central Austin when looking at another one of their listings and even though it was still under construction, it just had that WOW FACTOR when we walked in! My husband and I just had to have the home and were so excited that we put in an offer before it was even listed for sale! Chester, Macon, and Keith were so kind and so wonderful to work with. My husband and I had some issues with our lender who kept trying to move the close date around and we were so grateful that Greater Austin Builders were so willing to work with us during such a stressful time. When we did our walkthrough, Chester and Macon were so wonderful to point out all of the amazing details that we didn't even realize our house had. They really have an outstanding high quality build and make use of every space possible. From the details of only using high quality paint, to using the more expensive finishes to make the house really pop, to even building a gorgeous deck and staining it close to 5 times so it would look perfect, as well as thinking of every detail we might want such as areas to wire in surround sound, soft close cabinets, top of the line appliances, epoxy on the floor of the garage, shelving in the garage, hardi plank siding, painting every tiny smudge and being more critical than we were, as well as putting in the best sod (most expensive) and even letting us pick our trees....these guys were AMAZING!! If we ever decide to move, you bet that I will be calling Greater Austin Builders to help build our next home. I highly recommend them!! Thanks again GAB Team!!

I'll be happy to change my review when Lennar upholds their promises and fixes my yard…read more Evidently, there is a wide spread problem with flooding and the grading of people's properties throughout the community. Not only myself, but more than a dozen of my neighbors have standing water for more than 72 hours after a rain. In a heavy rain, parts of my back yard and front yard are under more than 3 inches of water. The water has no way to make it out to the street for runoff. I saw there was obvious problems with the grading of the yard at time of purchase. The lot is hard clay and there is not a proper angle from the back, out to the street. The grading is not smooth and has many, many low spots. Despite my better judgement, I trusted the construction manager on his word that he would fix the issues post purchase. I was told they had problems with the contractors they used for the landscaping and were working on getting another. Eventually, the construction manager stopped answering my texts and I filed an official warranty request. It's been more than a month since that happened. I never get an update on what the status is on that until I ask for it, and then I am told about paperwork, and how it's gonna be soon, week after week. Meanwhile, I have to wait to stain my fence for fear it is going to get torn up, and I have to wait to do any gardening, while Spring time passes me by. The rest of the house is nice. I loved the layout, the tile, and the cabinets, for the price. The area is mostly quiet, except for the occasional train (which they never told me about). They've been good about fixing all the very minor things until now. Be ware, you are likely to run into the same issues. Just ask the current residents, as you walk the neighborhood.

Avi was an absolutely delight. Fast, clear communication before the initial meeting. Very thoughtful approach in our initial meeting. So many images from their highly impressive portfolio to help us think through options. Excellent examples of communication and workflow from previous projects. Instantly ready to share previous customers we could reach out to for references. A really good balance between sharing his ideas for our project, but also really listening to our feedback on what we wanted/invisoned. All the right insights for how to keep us in budget, and very generous with (we can add this/that for little/no extra costs since we're already doing XYZ). We mainly requested a bid on two projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were very impressed with how realistic, but also open-minded he was with what portion of our "bonus" projects we could fit in. The formal quote came in fast after our initial meeting, was easy to follow, and fairly priced. Found the proposed timeline to be very well balanced for efficiency vs realism. Appreciated the suggestions provided for if we should/could "live-in" during the remodel vs. a timeline that would allow the bulk of the work to overlap with a time that we were going to be out of town already. Also insights on what it would be worth "buying in advance" to take advantage of sales, even if the actual work was delayed. We got a few quotes and would have felt confident moving forward with any of them when the time came, but the quality of their portfolio and Avi's attentive listening definitely put Teamwork Home Designs at the top of the list. Can't wait to work with them in the future.

The team appeared comfortable working on bathroom renovations; however, the shower diverter was not installed correctly, which caused the handle to be improperly aligned. We later hired a licensed plumber to inspect and correct the issue. Overall, the quality of work did not meet our expectations. Some aspects of the workmanship appeared rushed, and based on our experience, I would recommend exercising caution with detail-oriented tasks such as wood staining, drywall, painting, or door hardware installation. This project did not go as smoothly as anticipated, and I would not choose to work with this company again.

Tilson Homes - The Driftwood Model Home

    Tilson Homes

    (8 reviews)

As a real estate professional for over 14 yrs, I've worked with many builders in town -- from semi…read moreto fully custom -- but this was my first time with Tilson. Let me start by saying: building a house is a lot. With any builder. Homes are made of thousands of parts, so it's never a question of if something won't go as planned -- it's a question of how your builder responds when it happens. There were some hiccups during my 8 mo build with Tilson. Most came down to my understanding of what I'd ordered not being relayed to construction exactly as I intended. Here's what I learned -- and what I'd recommend to anyone building a custom home: 1 Document everything. Take notes during every sales appointment and send them to your salesperson to confirm. Include pictures, sketches, and written recaps. Tilson allows an incredible amount of customization (I was shocked by how much I could personalize), but with that flexibility comes room for miscommunication. My salesperson, Sarah, handled what was probably a record number of change orders with patience and grace -- and in the end, we worked through every hiccup. 2 Review your final plans in detail. Don't rush this step. Ask to sit down with your builder to go through everything together before signing off. 3 Keep perspective. Not every small issue is the end of the world. I had to remind myself of this often. Our builder, Dustin, was the real deal -- one of those "do the right thing even when no one's watching" kind of people. The kind they mean when they say, "Are there any good men out there?" His construction supervisor, Chance, was cut from the same cloth. Dustin took our calls and texts morning, night -- probably everything short of bathtime. Most importantly, both Dustin and Chance always made us feel heard. They cared not just about the job, but about us -- and that's a rare thing in construction. After closing, David, the warranty rep, came out to take care of a small touch-up and was pleasant and professional. There's still one window item that Tilson will be taking care of, but we're posting our review now because we trust that they'll make it right and follow through. Was it 8 months of pure bliss? Nope. Were there bumps along the way? Yep. But when bumps happened, Tilson did the right thing -- and that's what matters most to us. The reason for our five stars isn't that everything went perfectly... it didn't -- it's because of the way Tilson worked with us to make things right. That's what we'll remember most about our build. Now, thanks to my amazing designer and Tilson Custom Homes, we're waking up in our stunning new home -- surrounded by land, critters, sunsets, and peace -- and I couldn't be more grateful that God's plan had us ending up right here. This home has been a long-awaited dream, and I'm thankful every day for it.
