Most of the employees are great, some really go above and beyond and are woefully underpaid. My…read moreissue is with how they're (corporate) running the pharmacy now- no human can be bothered to answer the phone and you have to jump through hoops with some ai robot who is hell bent on making sure you do not get to even leave a message asking for your meds. I am disabled. I can't drive a half an hour just to ask for my prescriptions. Another half an hour home. However many hours or days later they decide to fill it, trek out and back again. Thats ridiculous. When I call a store- ESPECIALLY A PHARMACY needing medication or with a question about my medication, I should be able to access a qualified human being, not a cashier. (No disrespect to cashiers, we need you. But not when I'm calling the pharmacy to speak to a PHARMACIST or refill my and my spouses life saving medications.) it should not be this difficult. It didn't used to be. I had to call SEVEN times to get past the robot to leave a message. Each time it asks do you want someone to call you back about your meds. I always say yes. I have only ever gotten one callback and it's when I specifically asked that they call my spouses number ‍. Additional gripe, this store doesn't even have a drive through window for disabled persons convenience like every other cvs I've ever seen in 50 years. CVS, whatever you're trying to do, it's not working. It's needlessly complicated and stressful. I have always filled my and my spouses Rx from my phone without issue, now suddenly that's impossible. Even though we're on the same account. It's no problem for me to PAY for the meds, but it's near impossible to actually access the meds. Cool business model For the love of all things, get rid of the robot. Simplify and streamline. I'm about to switch pharmacies altogether, preferably to one that delivers.

I can't figure out how or why the employees at the pharmacy are qualified to even work there if…read morethey can't explain how to use a medical device . They seem so Clueless about much of anything wasn't very helpful in any way it could be a life or death situation and I'm sure if you go to them for help they'll look dumb and uneducated on the situation.

This pharmacy cannot keep track of prescriptions, its automated system does not properly track…read morethem, and it is generally poor at communicating. Twice now, I have gone to pick up prescriptions and was asked to pay full price because the medication is "popular." I called my insurance company and learned that Charlesmeade Pharmacy never ran my insurance. The last time I went, I tried to explain that they had not run my insurance, but they insisted that I needed to pay full price. I asked why this had not been communicated to me beforehand, especially since I had spoken with someone on the phone earlier that day. They then attempted to bargain with me to pay less than the original amount they quoted. This seems absolutely wrong--they are refusing to run prescriptions through insurance and are instead negotiating prescription prices.

I transferred my scripts here after getting fed up with the nightmare that is Walgreens. How many…read moreproblems does that place have? Too many to list: orders constantly getting canceled with no explanation, corporate website constantly going down, standing on line for 40 minutes to talk to a real person about a problem because no one picks up the phone, being turned away at the counter because the pharmacy's system "went down again due to the weather". (Not kidding, Walgreens hasn't updated their pharmacy system since the 90s.) I tell you all that because if you're dealing with similar headaches at any of the big name corporate pharmacies, it's time to try an independent pharmacy that actually knows how to run itself competently. Charlesmead does that well and comes as a breath of fresh air after all the corporate BS. At Charlesmead, you can easily fill prescriptions over the phone with an automated system from this century. Prescriptions get filled within hours, and someone will call to let you know it's ready. If you have questions, a real person will actually answer the phone. They even do same-day deliveries, if you can't make it to the store. I wish more mom and pop shops like Charlesmead were still around. You can tell they actually give a damn about their customers and pride themselves on doing a good job. I can't tell you how much more smoothly my experience is since I transferred here months ago. I will never leave this place. An important note: You may notice *some* prescription prices here are a little higher. That's because independent pharmacies don't benefit from Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) who negotiate discounts for corporate pharmacies. If you're not sure if your medication will be affected, ask the pharmacy. If price is a dealbreaker for you, fine. Personally, I will happily eat any extra cost if I don't have to jump through hoops every month just to get my medications. You can't put a price on your sanity.
