Got to sample their wines and that was fun! I ended up using my $10 birthday coupon for their Omaamaayan wine that is sweet and has different notes of fruit. I can't wait to drink it!! The employee who helped us was nice and helpful! Gotta love Cherry Republic! read more

If you happen to be in Mi, a cherry lover then you must try this place everything but cherry, candy -drinks - jam- food. The soda/ water is pretty good , not to powering. Their dining has good delicious food from salad - burgers- soup . Their pie/ ice cream are a hit . Our waiter was a one man show handling all orders and distributing the meals. Kudos to him, reminded me of Timothee Chalamet . read more

Overdue for an update now that they've expanded into the space next door. Hard to believe but it's even better! The new space houses a wine tasting counter and a place for their beverages and a few other products. This lets the whole space breathe a bit more and gives for more elbow room during peak shopping times when it gets nice and crowded in there. High five for still offering plentiful samples. Right now we're big fans of the amaretto cherries in this house. Also the extra dark cherries! But honestly I don't think I've ever had anything here I didn't like. Proud to have them based here in MI! read more

I always enjoyed going here and I always make sure to stop by when showing a new friend around the area. The always have free samples for people to try (including free samples of their wine of the week) and really beautiful merchandise. In general, I would definitely recommend stopping in if you want to try some yummy cherry flavors and see some Michigan gear. My favorite is the cherry sour patch gummies and any of their chocolate selections. They make great gifts for the holidays. The only reason why I put 4/5 stars is because I recently went and one of the dark haired employees kept watching me and her expression seemed a bit rude but I could have been misunderstanding and generally most of the workers are very kind. read more

Holy moly... if you haven't tried their sour cherry patch candy, you are seriously missing out! They're delicious! Perfectly sized, great flavor, and a nice sour kick. They have many other wonderful cherry delights to explore. I also picked up some cherry jam and cherry salsa, though I haven't tasted those yet. I'm excited to try them though! A fun shop to explore. It is a bit expensive, but worth an occasional splurge for sure. read more

I walked into Cherry Republic with one mission and one mission only: real chocolate covered cherries. You know the kind. Thick chocolate shell, gooey center, filling that actually runs. A full commitment to messiness. And then... they didn't have them. Like... WHAT?! A cherry place. No classic gooey chocolate cherries. I stood there mentally buffering. The prices were also a little wild, but honestly, it's Ann Arbor and I'm sure the rent requires a second mortgage, so I get it. No hard feelings there. That said, the staff was great. Friendly, helpful, and probably very used to people walking in with intense cherry-based expectations. I didn't end up buying anything because my heart was set on those cherries and I'm loyal when I crave something. Still giving four stars because it's a fun shop, the people were lovely, and if they ever bring back the OG chocolate covered cherries with the dramatic, runny centers... I'll be back immediately. read more

I happened upon Cherry Republic while walking the streets and was glad to stop in on the recommendation of a friend. They have so many cherry offerings, and they also have samples! I gotta say, the sample are a great move - they're what convinced me to buy two bags of chocolate-covered cherries (one exquisite and one amaretto). They've also got nut mixes, gift boxes, wines, swag, etc. Super friendly service as well. read more

I was on a date and came into this cherry Republic store when I saw some sour cherry balls in the window. I'm a sucker for sour cherry things and so I had to go in to see if they had a sample since Christmas is just around the corner . I saw the product which was a bit expensive but understandable for a downtown Ann Arbor boutique type store, but I didn't wanna purchase it if it wasn't good. I went up to the employees which were plentiful and they directed me to a few few sample stands, which I was overjoyed that the allergens were limited, and I was able to try the item. The sour cherry balls were delicious and I found out they have a lot of other products that looked really good, but I wasn't able to try them due to allergies . I had no idea. They also have a wine bar in the store. It's not really my thing, but I can see a lot of people enjoy enjoying the experience with some girlfriends as they're walking downtown . Thank you so much Cherry Republic for the lovely little find & your wonderful and helpful employees! read more

A sample without even asking for one? Yes, please! So many food samples to try. It worked, I ended up buying two things I tried. The staff were all pleasant and I enjoyed the holiday bustle on a Saturday night two weeks before Christmas. read more

I used to spend summers at Interlochen National Music Camp near Traverse City, and Michigan cherries just bring out the best childhood memories for me. In town to see Michigan pummel Northwestern on the gridiron, it was still a fun time because Ann Arbor is such a nice college town. Cherry wine, chocolate covered cherries and cherry preserves were my best souvenirs. Friendly, sunny store, I highly recommend a stop for gifts, souvenirs, or snacks. read more

It's Moodlight Madness! The first Friday of December, you HAVE to hit Cherry Republic for stocking stuffers and gift boxes. The whole store is 20% off! It's packed so bring your patience. I preplanned our hit, by making lists of their items and what we needed to get. Having a game plan is always the best. Samples galore, gifts for everyone and super helpful staff. Don't skip the wine. Very clean stores. Excellent products! Great gifts. Would be very happy to see politics left out of the workplace.

My favorite part about walking into this store is how it instantly transports me to "up north". Maybe because I associate cherries with the Traverse City area, but something about the vibes of the store make me feel like I'm on the mini-est of vacations. You'll find cherry EVERYTHING here. My favorites are the tart cherry juice (much more expensive than the grocery store version, but you can taste the difference in quality and it's 100% Michigan cherries), the cherry sour candies, and chocolate covered cherries. They also have cream sodas, wines, BBQ sauces, the list goes on. Of course, don't miss the samples! Great shop for treats for myself or specialty gifts for friends, family, heck even professional gifts for clients/vendors/etc at work. One of the best places to gift something that's "from Ann Arbor" as well. They have cute options for pre-boxed gift sets, and ship! read more

I was so happy to have found Cherry Republic! As a person who loves all things Cherry I was curious to all that I could pick up! If you're just browsing you'll see they offer chocolate, candy, jams, pie and even more. The white chocolate covered cherries are some of my favorites. The staff here lets you try free samples so I would take advantage of it. They sell wine as well but I'm not 100% sure if you're able to sample, but I will be asking during my next visit haha. Also while this is there Ann Arbor location, being as this is a chain, they're stores Frankenmuth, Traverse City, and Glen Arbor. A must-visit for those Cherry lovers ! read more

We went here after climbing Sleeping Bear Dunes. We were mostly going for the wine tasting, but after smelling the delicious food, we decided to get lunch. I'm so glad we did. Everyone was great and the place was packed! The only reason for four stars is that the fries weren't very good. read more

Cherry Republic just needs to rearrange their shipping process and to make it smoother clear and much more efficient and faster in their AI chat is not good. It gave me the wrong answer three days in a row. read more

The jury's still out, as I'm told my case has been sent up the chain, but my online gift ordering experience wasn't good. In exchange for contact information I was told I'd get a 15% discount on my order. It didn't materialize, so I contacted the company online and interacted either with a human using a pseudonym or an AI doing what AIs do. My order was abruptly canceled without explanation and the charge remains on my credit card. Presumably my $204.95 will be credited back. The invoice is so lacking in detail that it would be impossible to tell whether or not I got a discount (but if my arithmetic is correct, I didn't). read more

A Favorite store to visit in Ann Arbor and a favorite business for ordering gifts. They have a wide variety of cherry products-ALL DELICIOUS! Candies, coffees, wines, trail mixes, jams, pie fillings, etc. There are free tasting stations for the candies inside. There are paid wine-tastings also. My personal favorite =the dark chocolate covered cherries, but friends like the milk chocolate ones, the red candy covered ones, or the white chocolate covered ones. When we order gifts in person or online the products are packaged attractively & uniquely in shredded brown paper. Currently it looks like the store is being expanded. read more

I love Cherry Republic so much. We are definitely their customers. There are so many products that we love. For the kids I often buy the cherry sour balls, so good, they burst in your mouth. I love their chunky cookies. The spicy horseradish mustard is the best. When they have their peanut butter, it is a must purchase for us. I often buy their sausage and beef sticks as gifts. I am also a big fan of their sodas and wines. I was so happy to see they have planned an expansion with a larger wine counter and soda counter. I can't wait to visit once it is complete. This is some of the best tourist treats and I will always come to buy them as a foodie tourist. read more

Place: This place is my favorite. I have been coming here since I was in undergrad. This place is perfect for gift giving. Service: The service here is so nice and precovid they had samples. Food/price: They literally have it all: they got salsas, almond butter, drinks, wines etc. It is all cherry themed lol. The price is kinda worth and the packaging that it comes in also makes it so pretty and aesthetically pleasing. My favorite is the sour candies and dark chocolate cherries. Audience: Great for families & friends. Recommend/tips? I would recommend this place. They have fun activities as they are having a scavenger hunt that is going on right now. read more

Went here for a wine tasting VERY inexpensive to try 6 different wines. Only $5 per person. They have a great variety of dry and sweet cherry wines that you can choose what to taste. I did end up leaving feeling a little loose due to each taste being about 1.5 oz of wine so you end up drinking a full glass and they are all about 10-11%. The employee that serviced us for the wines was very polite and nice. The store itself has a bunch of everything cherry flavored so if you do love cherries I would suggest coming here! read more

Stay away from Cherry Republic. I ordered 7 gift packages for my client over the holidays and they only shipped 1. The client thought they were supposed to share a single gift package among 7 people. How embarrassing. I wouldn't have even known if I didn't ask my client for confirmation that the packages arrived. Also, it took hours and multiple attempts to reach Cherry Republic before a live representative would even take my call. What a terrible experience. Will never buy anything from them again. read more

My brother and sister-in-law used to live in AA and now live in Canton, and they love this place! So, it was necessary to bring Jenbert here. Mind you, the setup is a lot like any other specialty store, but man, the stuff here is good! When you walk in, you are introduced with a sample of spicy cherry sausage and an assortment of cherry salsas. I will admit, I was tempted to eat the rest of the chips and salsa there. I'm not a coffee drinker. Neither is my brother, but both of us loved the dark chocolate cherry coffee beans. I like Trader Joe's and Sprouts dark chocolate espresso beans, but I liked these chocolate cherry beans even better! Cherry just enhances the flavor. They even had samples of cherry peanut butter, yes, cherry peanut butter and cherry jam to go with it. My brother ended up getting some dark chocolate covered cherries and some cherry s'mores. Fun place to check out. Worth the extra pennies for the quality. Plus they make fun gifts. read more

Come to try the free samples, end up wanting to buy a product. Beware of the chocolate (milk, two kinds of dark, white) covered cherries - they're dangerous. Also on the sampling menu: Salsa (mild, medium, hot) Peanut butter Jams/preserves Honey Dried cherries both alone and in trail mix Did you know Michigan is the country's largest producer of cherries? Me neither. The people who work here know their stuff about their product, so feel free to pick their brains. Of course the stuff is on the pricier end, but you really are paying for quality here. Michigan is ubiquitous with cherries. In fact the state is the number one producer of tart cherries in the nation! So, it's no surprise that Cherry Republic is conveniently located on a busy intersection in Ann Arbor. Like I said, it's on a busy street corner, and if the quaint exterior doesn't draw your eye, the sign for free samples every day will! I visited recently on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon and will definitely plan to be back on my next visit. Just because the samples are free doesn't mean they're chintzy or not worth your while. Try several varieties of cherry salsa, cherry gummies, chocolate covered cherries, and more! There is also cherry wine for sale and a variety of accoutrements to go with your cherry deliciousness. I walked out with some dark chocolate covered cherries (which I've been rationing to help me enjoy them longer), and will look forward to replenishing this stash the next time that I'm in Ann Arbor! read more

This is my go-to spot for easy gift giving. It started with family out of state who love all things Michigan cherries... but then I realized in-state folks also love all things Michigan cherries.
