Such a wonderful bookstore and tearoom! The tearoom is so cute and they have such a great selection of of teas! I stopped in for a coworking moment and ordered a pot of jasmine tea along with an order of their hummus. Service was very friendly and staff was super knowledgeable about their teas. Ambiance is super relaxing and great for getting work done with a nice view of Main Street! The tea was soo delicious; flavor was perfectly strong! Excited to come back!

Got this because dragon flies is my animal. Owl was EBS. Other stuff will help with my healing.

I have not been here for almost two years when I found a spiritual Meetup that meets here every Friday evening and since I had the day off I decided to drive out. Even better than I remembered. Mainly a book store that carries books on spiritual growth no matter your beliefs. Candles, jewerly, statues, tarot cards, and other items that bring beauty and joy into your world. For downtown Ann Arbor, the price are reasonable and even less than some other stores like this I have been. With a tea room upstairs, you can look through books in a relaxing peaceful way. Some salads, sandwichs and desserts served. Also upstairs is a meeting room that is used for classes, author book signings, and other informational purposes. While I was there, a person was doing card readings. Of course, being in downtown, parking is tight, but a public parking garage is a block away that only charges $1.20 an hour, which is cheap for the area. With many other interesting shops around and too many places to eat, a visit will take a few hours. Hope to come back. Customer service is good. Other customers friendly. Pleasant place to recharge.

I knew I'd LOVE this bookstore. There were so many things I wanted to purchase, but I'll have to pace myself. LOL! I was worried that parking would be a headache. Main Street in Ann Arbor is a super popular/populated area. However, I visited on a Sunday afternoon and was able to park right across the street (metered parking). I fell in love with the variety of tarot cards and books. I found aura crystals that I'd been searching for high and low. On my next visit, I'll have tea and treats. Only drawback...the reader area isn't private. I wanted a reading but decided not to because of the lack of privacy. For this, I held back a star.

Got a London fog that was mixed with some lavender; pretty delicious and reasonable sized portion, but there weren't prices listed for certain items (such as this one) and surprised when it was $4.40. About a dollar more expensive than Espresso Royale, but I will say better quality product. The inside is super cozy and a quiet and relaxing place to work or read a good book.

Yes, we have experienced better. Yes, they had a decent book selection and eastern sculptures, incense and so on. However if your going for that reason (which we were) this store falls short. We were expecting a bigger selection with less of a mark up. It seemed this store is trying to create it's own unique ambiance, but lacks the cozy small town charm. The tea shop was also lacking. Of course it was cozy... it has large windows and comfy chairs. However, it really felt like a small piece of Barnes and Noble (not saying that's bad, but not what we were expecting).

Great spot for studying or just winding down with a pot of tea. I sipped on the apricot earl for a few hours while I worked from my laptop. The truffle Mac and cheese needs some major truffle. Not only did it not taste like truffle it didn't even smell like it at all. It's all premade and the barista just heats it up when you order it. Stick to the teas! Don't forget to check in for 10% off!

I love to purchase the shelves and find something new, although I found the layout slightly confusing, and I found various books and multiple locations. The little tags that talk about unique aspects of the book are a really nice touch. I did find it to be slightly biased politically, but I'm not sure what you can expect in downtown Ann Arbor. They did have a beautiful special version of a book that my best friend from Australia loves, so I was able to pick up that copy. I can't wait to send it to her. When I told her about it, she cried. The book is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much Literati for stocking such lovely products! Sidenote - this bookstore used to have delicious oat milk, lattes and unfortunately, they do not the café upstairs anymore. I do like that they got rid of all the tables where people would sit for hours on their computer computers. Now there is more room for books and I enjoy their selection of YA, cookbooks, and other genres. This is the same bookstore. We brought our Canadian friends too to browse, and it was very fun also. Thank you so much Indie bookstores. We love to stop in!

Used bookstores on the other hand, were where you'd go digging for treasure among aged tomes and other peoples' cast offs. Perhaps that's what's keeping West Side Book Shop around. The space isn't large, really more of a living room transformed by wall to wall shelves and mini mountains on the central surfaces and displays. Here you too can own a piece of history or simply extend the life of a book or periodical. Sometimes you can find a rare edition or obscure title. Past times I've been there I haven't had much interaction with the staff though they were pleasant when checking out. The shop is located in downtown Ann Arbor so parking can be a pain, though if you're not too picky and prefer not to pay, you can always park a little further in the more residential areas and walk over. There are plenty of structures and lots too. They'll be celebrating 50 years in 2025. Hope they continue to be celebrated in Ann Arbor for years to come!
