What a fun experience!!…read more We went to the farmer's market and walked inside the shops and loved seeing everything! Parking can be found behind the farmer's market. There is a lot where you can pay by spaces (about $2 per an hour, very affordable). There are bathrooms inside on the top floor and tables and chairs scattered throughout where you can eat lunch that can be purchased downstairs or at the farmer's market. We bought Pad Thai for $7 from Baan Phad Thai in the farmer's market and it was delicious!! We also found two amazing houseplants, Roos Rois Coffee, and fresh Apple Cider! Will definitely come back because this farmer's market and shops are fun to walk through and have unique items!

Visited here with my hubby while in town for the Michigan rivalry game with Ohio. The mall almost reminded me of the Orlando mall attached to the airport. He even got on FaceTime with my sister Overall the mall has a lot of the standard staples and a rush of people shopping that keeps it alive.

Their clothes selection could be better but I was quite pleased with their purse variety and rings…read more I spent a long time looking through all the racks for the rings. I wish they were organized with rings on one rack instead of mixed with earrings. And it would have been more helpful if it was organized fully by size. I looked at Marshall's purses, DSW's purses, and Ross' and Nordstrom Rack had the best selection! It's helpful to look at the purses in person because I was SO close to purchasing a name brand online but when I looked in person, I keep forgetting how heavy they are! I liked the brand Thatcher. It was half the price of the name brands and the material is water proof and soft. Very happy with my purchase!

This strip mall is on Ann Arbor Saline Road near I-94 exit 175. The traffic flow in and out of this…read moremall is heavy, and the driveways had to be revised after the mall was opened, with one-way roads to keep the congestion to a minimum. I usually go in the back, near Chuck E. Cheese's, off Oak Valley Drive, and use the service drive to get to my desired location. I don't like to drive close to the storefronts, because there is so much pedestrian traffic, and other drivers are sometimes much less than courteous. So I dip in from the service road to get where I'm going. As of this writing, this mall has: * Alpha Coney Island Arbor Fit Club Chuck E. Cheese's (I don't know how this survives!) Contempo Salon Famous Footwear * Joann's Fabrics & Crafts Lotus Thai Men's Wearhouse MC Sports Music Go Round * OfficeMax, plus the print shop and the furniture showroom Party City Petsmart * Sally Beauty Supply Sprint Starbucks * Target (the big draw) + pharmacy & Subway (* = my faves) I have reviewed a few of these separately. One could spend an entire afternoon here, but watch out for cars near the storefronts. I hate that so many people are in a big hurry like that while they're still in a parking lot.

On the recommendation of a friend, I recently checked out Dexter's downtown. I like shopping…read morelocally and giving my money to small independent shops instead of big national chains whenever possible, and Dexter is a good place for this. They have nice shady parks, a local history museum, and lots of independent shops, coffee houses, and restaurants. Parking is phenomenally easy-- and free. While I was here, I passed The Cookie Momster, a Victorian-themed gift shop, and a Bear Claw coffee on my way to the Dexter card shop. From there, I visited Christine's, a gift shop, and bought a butterfly finger puppet for my niece whose fourth birthday is coming up soon. From there, I strolled over to the Dexter Bakery and got a really good donut. If you're looking for somewhere cute and quaint to do some shopping or meet a friend for coffee or lunch, Dexter is an excellent choice.

The post office: Sorry, but I've had mediocre experiences with the service…read more For one, they lost TWO packages that I mailed from there via media mail. TWO PACKAGES. The first one disappeared, and then the envelope came back torn, dirty and EMPTY (minus the book that I had mailed) about a month later. The second one is still missing (along with the pricey book inside). When I called to ask about both books, they were unhelpful and apathetic and basically said there was nothing they could do about it. I've had to refund the money from both of the textbooks I sold, which was pretty upsetting. So, if you ever mail ANYTHING from here, make sure you get delivery confirmation and/or insurance. Secondly, the lines are super-long most of the time, and you will need to find your wrapping/packaging materials and do all the packaging yourself before you get up to the counter. Also, if you don't buy priority packaging, they don't have any tape that you can use, and the guy at the counter gave me a little speech about it when I tried to use some of the "Priority" tape.. So, I would advise doing all packaging before you come here - and bring your own tape. To be fair, it's a busy place, and the two women who work there generally tried to be helpful to me. Still, if I wasn't a captive audience, I would try to go somewhere else where they didn't lose my packages.

The Ann Arbor News Online reports that this small campus-area mall will be undergoing rennovations…read moreand upgrading. It's about time! Except the Post Office space at the back, the whole building has been deteriorating for years. Sometimes they don't even bother to turn the lights on. The only reason I'm in there is to mail something or buy stamps. The News article reports that "the building owners will invest at least $250,000 to upgrade the building" -- I wonder if this will be enough to make it decent. It's always appeared to me that they could take some advantage of the open space outside the back adjacent to the parking structure. Doesn't sound as if they've thought of this.

I've really liked that sometimes when I start a fitting room, I'll find additional things I hadn't picked out myself in the room as recommendations based on the other items I picked and if we talk about what I'm looking for. Got an amazing dress to wear as a wedding guest that was heavily on sale and perfectly my size this way once. I don't think it was even out on racks. Also love their beautiful home goods. Also on the pricier end but don't sleep on the sale section. Just got an absolutely adorable serving dish and plate set for a great price. This location is in a nice plaza with a lot of other retail and dining options. The same for trying to meet someone for lunch at Panera. Over on the side near Barnes and Nobles, parking is usually a little better, but there are times (usually near holidays) when there's literally not one open parking spot in the entire shopping center.

This is the strip mall on Washtenaw that serves as an appetizer to the much larger and more annoying Arborland, about .5 miles, or up to 20 minutes in heavy traffic, up the road. Its main draws are Barnes & Noble, Panera, and Whole Foods. It also has a Walgreen's, a Qdoba, a home fitness equipment store, a tanning place, a yoga place, and a video game store. There is not enough parking, and a lot of bottlenecking around the Whole Foods entrance. I have had many an altercation with annoying middle-aged ladies who think they know how to drive better than me. Maybe they do, in a Whole Foods parking lot.
