It's definitely pricey, which prevents me from shopping for the dudes in my life here often, but the styles and offerings are nice, well-crafted goods that seem worth the price point if you can afford it. They carry a variety of shirts, sweaters, hats, outerwear, sportswear, suits, scarves, etc. They even have a shoe shop across the way with beautiful looking leather loafers and the like. I admittedly haven't had a ton of experience with their service (haven't really had the need) so I can't comment on that, but it's nice to have this option in town if you need a fancy gift for a fashionable fella in your life.

This store strikes me as a place where you could find a unique gift of clothing for a very…read moreparticular type of woman. Perhaps a professor or academic of some sort who is also a mother? Perhaps a slightly up-scale psychologist, counselor or social worker? Perhaps a woman who likes linen dresses in the summer, and likes interesting (but not fussy) clothing? In any of these cases, I'm picturing the ideal customer as between the age of 35 and 70. My mom falls somewhat into this category, and so I can see myself returning here to find something for her. The prices are a bit high, but honestly fairly reasonable when you look more carefully at the quality construction of the clothing and the more unique cuts/styles on offer. Ther's also a good selection of jewelry and some accessories -- hats, rather nice scarves, as well. So, even though it's not a place I would regularly pick up anything for myself -- it could be just the ticket for finding a special jacket, sweater, or accessory for a gift.

To the person who asked about the socks: CWorks sells a very colorful, imaginative brand of socks called Ozone. The socks also seem to wear well so they are worth the high price (compared to socks from Target).

Unfortunately I was not greeted when I came in nor when I was browsing, which I feel is such a small thing that can really make a difference when shopping. The person at the counter was with another customer, but even just a quick, "hi, welcome in!" can be so nice. That said, I would come back in the future just to check out what they have in stock.

Located in Kerrytown across the street from Detroit Street Filling Station, this woman-owned business is stocked full of so many unique and thoughtfully curated and sourced items. You want to come here for all the most unique and gorgeous looking goodies to gift to yourself and your loved ones and make sure to stop by often as they have a rotating selection of goodies throughout the seasons and months as well! They always have gorgeous window displays, the employees are always so happy to see you and the service is wonderful, and this shop is just so dreamy! Things are definitely on the pricey side here, but everything is really high quality and they feature a ton of local artisans in the area as well. There's nothing I love more than an intentional shop and you can truly feel how intentional Thistle & Bess is in every detail their store contains. Absolutely lovely and always worth a peruse whenever you find yourself in the Ann Arbor area!
