This shop is great for finding sparkly treasures in - my teenage daughter and I love poring over the baubles! There are so many pieces of jewelry to look at, I always feel like a little girl playing with my mom's costume jewelry. The difference is that these pieces are very chic and current in style. Every corner has goodies tucked into them...from jewelry and bath products, to handbags and books, to clothing and accessories. They even carry shoes! They also carry a great selection of Made In Detroit gear. This is the store I go to when I need to buy a "girlfriend" gift. And they giftwrap too! Did I mention the sparkles? read more

It's unfortunate that my first trip to Gigi's mode will also be my last. I received a gift for my daughter that I wanted to exchange for something else. When I went in to make this exchange I was told that the item was now on clearance and Final Sale. I said I understood and was not looking for any money back and in fact was willing to spend quite a bit more in the little store, I simply wanted to get something that was useful for my daughter or myself (or both). The owner Amanda, told me there was nothing she could do to help me and that I should either "re-gift" the item (which was a $24 onesie) or sell it on eBay. This was an awfully rude way to treat a first time customer that had never made a purchase in the store before and had absolutely no idea of the return/exchange policy. It's really unfortunate that I will not be able to support a small independent such as Gigi's mode, as a small business owner myself I know the importance of trying to compete with the big chain stores. Until Amanda learns a little thing called "customer service", I believe she'll continue to lose a lot of business. If she were to stop and think about the fact that she lost a potential large sale over a $24 onesie, perhaps that's exactly the kind of lesson she needs. read more
