Great drink specials and plenty of room. This is part of Cherry Island Golf Course. Limited on food but the happy hour deals help it out.

Easy to get to, the people who work there are so nice. Every time we go there they always look like they are having a good time. So....... on to the food: we have tried pretty much all of the meats there over the past several years and they are moist, flavorful and just as delicious as you'd want & expect from good bbq. In fact, they are as close to bbq you'd get in Texas without having to go there! However, with all the meats and side dishes we've had there I think the only thing neither one of us was very fond of was the Kielbasa w/jalapeño & cheese. i just didn't like the texture of it. The side dishes (and we have tried every single one of them) are fantastic!!! I love the creamed spinach and the cole slaw, which are usually my two go to's. They recently started serving their meals with the thick sliced texas toast instead of the little rolls they used to have, big 2 thumbs up! The new gal that just recently took over Dickey's is AWESOME! We could tell something was different right when we walked in last week, not that it was bad before her because we obviously wouldn't have gone there lol, it was just a good vibe if you know what I mean. They also have daily specials that are great too. "The Grocery Outlet" store is going in right nextdoor to them so after it's opened go into Dickey's first and have a meal before going into to buy your groceries..... cause they say to never shop on an empty stomach cause you'll buy too much junk food ‍‍ Just go try out Dickey's, I promise it will not disappoint

I also ordered it with pickles and onions, but there were none. I also ordered it with no sauce since I was taking it home. I got one sauce with my order, and asked for one extra sauce. This is when things got worse. The worker gave me the one extra sauce. I was walking out and another worker stopped me. She made it a point to tell me that usually I would have to pay for the one extra sauce container. Based on other reviews here I am guessing this employee was the manager. She was very rude about it, and acted as if she was giving me her first born child. If I could rate this zero stars I would. The food was not good, and the customer service was even worse.

We ordered Teri beef, bbq chicken, pork lumpia, and Mac salad amazing food great flavor. Might be the best Mac salad I have ever had. Portions sizes were excellent and more than fair for what we paid. I had multiple texts after the party asking where the food was from. They did not disappoint! Looking forward to our next visit in person to try more things and check out the ambiance.

I got the poke bowl, which was fresh and tasty, though I would've liked a little more fish and a little less rice. My mom and son ordered rice plates, and the chicken katsu was massive. Seriously, each cutlet looked like two chicken breasts in one. My wife tried the sushi burrito, which was packed, but it fell apart once she unwrapped it. Not a dealbreaker, just messy because it was loaded with food. The kids shared ramen and Spam musubi, and I ended up trying both. The ramen was surprisingly phenomenal, especially the roast pork, and the Spam musubi were huge. Overall, this is the kind of spot you go to when you're really hungry and want big portions, solid Hawaiian comfort food, and good service. Clean place, friendly staff, and definitely worth a stop. 4.5 stars

This takes me to "812 Grill" which has slowly gained a small cult following through social media since opening back in mid-2024. Located in a large outdoor strip mall on busy Watt Ave in North Highlands, 812 Grill is tucked smack dab in between Freedom Park Dr and Karl Dr. Parking was easy to find as there aren't a whole lot of businesses close to where they are located. I came here during the afternoon on Sunday 1/18/2026 at around 4:30pm. For those wondering, they are open for business Tuesday through Sunday from 11am-9pm and closed on Monday. You also have the option of placing your order online for pickup or delivery (DoorDash, Uber Eats, & Postmates). Since I did neither, I ordered my food the old fashioned way and that was at the ordering station area of the truck. I went with what was arguably their most popular item, the "Chicken Shawarma". They carry these in chicken as well as beef while you can also opt fora complete meal with fries. In addition to the Shawarma, they also specialize in a Halal-style cheeseburger as well as raptor fries (available in chicken or beef), wings, chopped cheese, and several lemonade flavors. And when my shawarma was ready, the pager they provide you sets off a chirping beep. Total time it took from when I ordered to when I got my food was about 10 minutes. After making the 15-minute drive back home, I unwrapped this thing and was ready to judge how good this was. As you can see from the photo, the size of this thing is massive as it is roughly about a foot long. And after the first bite, I enjoyed the seasoned and tender pieces of grilled chicken as they definitely did not disappoint. This wrap also included lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and the signature sauce. The only reason for a deduction in the rating is that it was a little soggy which probably tastes a LOT better as soon as it is handed to you but nonetheless, it was above average. All in all, "812 Grill" was well worth the price and at $11.99 for a ton of food, you can't go wrong. The young man that took my order was polite while the truck was easy to identify, even from busy Watt Ave. With excellent tasting food, reasonable prices, above average service, and generous hours of operation, I am giving 812 Grill a respectable four star rating.
