Because it is a sports bar, I was expecting mediocre food, but they surprised me. The meat was juicy and they were generous with the toppings. The fries weren't too crispy or too soft--they were just right. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals as well. The place has a nice, relaxing vibe. There's a good amount of seating and the lighting is nice. There were about 12 other people in there when we showed up, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. One of the things that I love about dive bars is the various demographics that usually frequent them (along with their interesting conversations). For our second round we ordered a "Manmosa (yes I know that sounds ridiculously machismo in 2024)" that Ronny insisted on putting a fruity spin on. Not only were we thankful for his suggestion, but his version was GOOD! In real dive bar-like fashion, Ronny provided us both with an extra cup to house the remainder of the Manmosa that could not fit into our glasses (another dive bar perk). As we sat at the bar, my wife and chatted while lightly watching the movie Step Brothers on one of the televisions. Although it was a fairly slow Saturday afternoon, I can imagine that this place gets pretty lively in the latter part of the night though. Amanda asked if I wanted to include tip, I said yes. I did not realize she would specify the amount. I get my receipt and saw tip on receipt. Most establishments let u write in a tip amount or slam an ipad in ur face and u specify the amount. I asked about it, she said she specified 18% instead of 20% and acted like she did me a favor. Amanda became somewhat argumentative and said she could reverse the tip, I stated I should be the one to specify the amount, again she stated she could reverse it with some sarcasm, I just left it at that. Additionally tip is calculated after tax. We live in a tipping culture where it is expected or taken for granted. People put cupcakes or bagels in a bag and u r prompted for a tip. Establishments with essentially no service prompt u with suggested tips of 18% or 20%.
