Croissants and scone
Janine W.

Definitely worth going to. A friend took me here and they have good coffee and a great selection of teas to choose from. Their pastries are good as well and not too expensive! I ordered 6 and an Americano and it cost me $21!! That's a great price. I got 2 plain croissant, 1 Gruyère croissant, 1 chocolate croissant, 1 almond croissant and the blueberry lemon scone. My kid wants more!

Cherry Bomb is a well-known coffee shop at the base of Ronces (a.k.a Roncesvalles Avenue) that quickly became a favourite amongst locals when it opened in 2005. While the quaint, hole-in-the-wall shop is only open for take away during this stage of the pandemic, it's certainly no reason to skip out on their exceptional espresso-based drinks. With all beverages made from their own beans that are lovingly roasted in Prince Edward County, you can also purchase them in store or online. Unlike many of the city's coffee shops, the mouthwatering baked goods are made in house. Hint: run fast if you want to score a buttery croissant, a raspberry and cream scone, or an earl grey and orange muffin (flavours change daily). Take my word for it: you'll be back for more than just a coffee!

Going to downgrade this cause the barista not only screwed up my request but he didn't care either. It didn't taste very good with it being more watery and unbalanced with the milk. I don't care for latte art if the taste is great and this place ... definitely worse. I don't even think he looked at me once. It doesn't help that the cafe has this pretty cold draft and in the middle of this deep freeze, it's pretty uninviting. So save your cash (they only take cash here) and head onto Queen St for some good coffee and service.

Hands down, the best croissants in town. I've tried many pastry establishments, but CBC just gets it right - filling, fluffiness, texture. A variety of croissants too - butter, almond, gruyere. Their iced lattes are done with integrity. The spot is kid friendly, and their outdoor seating during summer is a dream - lake views included. You won't miss the big cherry bomb (literally) if you're walking by.

I thought this place was ok. Not much interaction with the barista. I just gave him my order, he made it, collected my money, then went back to doing whatever he was doing before, behind the counter. Despite the larger front of the café, the inside was pretty much empty. Only a coupla long counters and some stools. No patrons, but then again, it was a gorgeous day out! Without any dairy, I found the Americano quite acidic. It had a bite to it! However, after adding my splash of cream/milk, it was much smoother.

Cherry Bomb Coffee - Toronto. On the counter only at the moment. Coffee was really good. Croissant was ok.

Ladies with big strollers? This is your place to get coffee. There's loads of room for you to back that buggy right on up to the counter. As for loafing? Not so much. The room is rimmed with chairs, but they're backless, and therefore incapable of truly relaxing in. But the atmosphere is warm, my chamomile tea was proper and hot, but I will say this: I bought one of their macaroon "balls" and it was the driest macaroon I've ever eaten, actually, I didn't eat it...I took one bite and gave up it was so hard and dry, and I never ever turn down the chance to get some sugar....wait...that came out wrong...

Hot chocolate and chocolate croissant.

They only take cash, and I never carry any. It's a cashless society. Really disappointed I never got to try the coffee.

Insanely good almond milk latte. Unfortunately no place to sit and work or I'd go there all the time despite the distance.

Great grab-and-go croissants. Had the gruyere and the almond. Both equally delicious in their own way! Highly recommend.

The restaurant is In what is popularly called Little Tibet. The place is small, about 8-10 tables, and the largest seating is for 6 people. Neat, bright, and cosy interiors are welcoming. The staff is friendly, always smiling, so easy to speak to. The food is simply amazing. The flavours, scents and colours are irresistible. We've tried the momos (both steamed and fried, veg/chicken/beef), fried noodles, pork... each dish is better than the other. The salted Himalayan butter tea was a lovely surprise and I can't get enough of it. The food can be spicy, I love it, but do let them know in advance based on your tolerance. First time trying Tibetan & Himalayan cuisine, and it was a really interesting experience. I usually lean more toward other Asian and Southeast Asian flavours, so this was a nice change of pace rather than my usual go-to. Overall, the food and vibe made for a solid visit--unpretentious, authentic, and clearly a place that puts care into what they do. Glad I checked it out and would recommend it if you're looking to try something different.

To be honest, the store and decor are so much better than the original store. Maybe because there's usually more traffic in the PATH, so it takes more time for them to keep up? Anyways, the store was cozy and clean and I felt extra welcomed as soon as I stepped in. I got my usual flat white and of course it came with latte art :) They sell more beans and merchandise than the original store, so definitely check it out if you have a chance!

Left with a lighter wallet and mixed feelings…read more I get that matcha prices in Toronto have gotten a bit out of hand lately, and that's more of a city-wide problem than something specific to The Brick Room. But $12 for a small drink that's mostly ice is a tough sell. Two drinks and a breakfast sandwich came to $36, which stung a little more when we sat down for a full lunch for two people right after for a similar amount. To put it in perspective: a venti matcha latte with milk alternatives at Starbucks run under $8. When did Starbucks become the budget option? The cafe itself is cute and the staff were genuinely friendly, which counts for something. But there weren't any proper tables to actually sit and enjoy your drinks, which felt like a bit of an oversight for a cafe experience. The drinks were fine. Mine had a sparkling milk in it, which was a fun and unique touch. But in terms of taste, nothing really wowed me or made me want to order it again. The breakfast sandwich was a letdown too. Honestly, a McMuffin would've been more satisfying. Cute spot with good energy, but the value just isn't there. Hard to justify coming back when so many other cafes in the city deliver more for less.
