Lining a street adjacent to Paris' Gare du Nord train station are a huge selection of Indian restaurants, markets, and stores. The perfect place to stop for food in between trains! Chennai Dosa offered a large menu of curries, dosas, and more, but my pick was the North Indian Thali, which came with a sampling of 10 ramekins of dishes, along with two chapatti flatbreads and a papad cracker. The dishes included chana masala (chickpea curry); a decadent paneer butter masala; yellow dal; spicy potatoes; a mixed vegetable dish of potatoes, peas, and carrots; and two different mixed rice dishes (a slightly sweet rice and a more heavily spiced brown-colored rice). The thali also came with sides of raita, a yellow sweet made of semolina, and sliced cucumbers/carrots/onions to round it all out. This restaurant was definitely a hole-in-the-wall, but the service, flavors, and prices were all on point! read more
