Firstly, the reservation process is really annoying as you have to wait for the staff to confirm the date which took 2 days. Once it was confirmed I couldn't adjust the time so had to email the restaurant. The food was ok as the Butter Chicken was really amazing but the briyani was overdone including the chicken being dry. Overall the ambience and service was good.

Delicious! The flavors of the spices blend perfectly. Beef is very tender, with specially yoghurt.

Mayfair Garden is a fancy Indian / Pakistani restaurant. Will caveat this review by saying I'm vegetarian so my comments may not apply for all diners. Overall my experience was fine but I didn't walk away thinking that I wanted to come back. Food 3.5/5: Certain dishes were good/great and most were only ok. Samosa chaat 2/5: The presentation is amazing but the taste didn't match the presentation. Paneer buns 5/5: Must order dish. The flavors and sauce were amazing. I'm still trying to figure out what they put in it! Truffle and cheese naan 4/5: If you like cheese you'll like it. The poppy seeds are a nice touch. Spinach with cutlet 4/5: The spinach was fine but the cutlet was well cooked and well flavored Dal 3/5: Average, nothing notable Mixed Vegetables 3:5: Average, nothing notable Service 3/5: Service was fine, if a bit curt. For a restaurant like this it was average at best

Paris has some of the most refined, elegant Indian food I've ever had and Mayfair Gardens is on the top of that list. The Vegetable Samosa was almost too beautiful to eat. They put the spice on the side - the French don't love spicy so it's a clever way to do it. Beautiful ambience, great service and reasonable prices. I LOVE trying Indian food in different countries, you get to try the different regions - I highly recommend this restaurant.

If you are looking for delicious elevated Indian food you must come here. This spot was a recommendation from a friend and I am thrilled to be in the neighborhood to try it out. You can smell all the goodness when you walk in through the door. There is quiet chatter and Indian music playing in the background. We picked a selection from appetizers and each dish brought out was a work of Art. The colors on the plate and presentation just added even more to the delicious tasting bites. Everything we ordered was amazing and we def left full and happy not to mention our plates were almost licked clean. Stop in and try out some amazing Indian food in Paris!!

Not only the food was excellent , this is one of the best service in Paris. We ordered lamb and it was a bit spicy so the waiter replaced it by another dish and did not make us pay for it. Clean restaurant, excellent Indian food and special service .

What a great experience! We came to Paris and wanted to try a diverse food selection, so this came on our radar. The Chicken Biryani, Lamb Nihari, and Buttered Chicken were all splendid dishes. We visited here twice because one just wasn't enough on our 9 day trip in Paris. The owner and waiters were all very welcoming, and the speed of the kitchen was on point. My wife and I thank you for making us feel welcome in your beautiful restaurant.

I was tired of seeing food options with bread and cheese during my visit to Paris. Upon searching, Mayfair Garden was the closest Indian restaurant to where I was staying. When I walked in, only 1 table was occupied - they had just opened for dinner. The kitchen is in the basement and there was a staff of 2 upstairs to take orders, run down to pick up food, serve it and handle payments. The staff was polite, helpful and made recommendations on food. By the time I left, several more tables had filled up and the staff was looking overwhelmed with orders. Service - 5 star Food - 3 star Their pricing is higher than the other Indian restaurant in the area, I went to. The food wasn't bad, but I feel the pricing was high for the taste.

Paneer tikka, daal mix, chapati, jeera rice. Onions, hot chilis and pickled mango were complimentary.

After visiting the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees, we ate dinner at Mayfair Garden which is in the same area. The food was tasty and creatively presented, which was refreshing after seeing and eating at so many Indian restaurants that always serve the same things the same way. Mayfair Garden put their own subtle twist on traditional dishes and combinations of ingredients, bringing a contemporary flair and flavor to the food. The staff was very nice, and the waiter made some good suggestions to us. We are vegetarians, so we enjoyed the fried okra appetizer, then Daal mix and paneer tikka masala with jeera rice, garlic naan and chapati for the main course. All great and recommended!

We arrived before they opened, but they still let us in due to the cold. Very friendly staff, very good food. Bread and rice, chicken karahi and chicken coconut curry were both excellent. Very glad that we stopped by and a good break from the typical French restaurants.

On Yelp, we had found Le Palais de Raja Maharaja and it was one of the best decisions I made in France. Actually, I believe that it is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in my life. If you don't speak French, they are very accommodating. When we walked in the restaurant, we were greeted and sat right away. The host and the owner was very friendly and inviting. He made some great recommendations on the menu. For a free starter, we were offered some papadum with some nice chutneys. It was all very tasty and fresh. We ended up ordering some vegetable samosas, butter chicken, and a lentil chicken soup. The samosas were fresh and crispy with nice flavors! Be careful, these things come out hot. The butter chicken did not have overcooked chicken which is a huge plus! It was savory, rich, and creamy. Sometimes, excess oil is a problem in butter chicken. But, not here! This dish was great. I have no complaints about the lentil soup, but it is pretty standard. Although it was quite good, it definitely wasn't the star of the meal. To end the night, we ordered halva dessert. It is a very sweet, dense confection dessert. It was absolutely delicious and will fulfill any sweet tooth. If you are looking to take a break from all of the French food in France, this would be a great option. Especially if you are staying at a nearby hotel.

We are a family from California so we are spoiled with really good Indian food, and although Taj Mahal isn't exactly what we are accustomed to, overall it was really enjoyable. I had the Pulet Tikka Massala (Chicken Tikka Massala). We also had the Poulet Tandori (Tandoori Chicken) and, Legumes Maison (veggies). Overall the quality was great, the tandoori chicken was cooked very well, and had really good flavor without being too spicy (as the person who got it, didn't want very spicy), my CTM was really good as well! My only drawback was that the sauce was a little sweet, which I am not a fan of. The veggies were tasty as well, especially with naan. As for the naan, I was really surprised with how good it was! Not too thick or over done. Was a great compliment to our plates. I can't say too much about service other than it was quick, we had our food delivered so we didn't get to experience the restaurant ambiance or service in that way, but either way, we were pleased. If you want something to eat aside from everything Paris has to offer, I think the Taj Mahal can you give you that little break from the usual. Will it blow you away? No. But is it a nice change from bread and cheese.. I think it's worth a shot.

Not a good place to eat, especially if you're wanting authentic Indian food, expecting good…read moreservice, or even expecting decency. Also, the restaurant doesn't look like anything in the photos you see, they are fake. As we entered the restaurant, the guy confirmed that we needed a table for 4. To my absolute horror, he took a couple of empty two seaters and joined them at the table of a family of 4 who are still dining. I have never experienced a restaurateur combining two tables to merge perfect strangers, unless of course the food being served is at a wedding, funeral or a birthday party - and you are getting it for free. When I asked how this is even a thing, he argued that it isn't a problem and pointed at two seaters joined to form tables of 6 and 8, saying that he can't seat us there. I look around and see 2 people sitting at the other 4 and 6 conjoined tables, but of course they aren't the same color as us. This is a classic case of reverse racism and stereotyping. I was about to walk out, but the kids hungered and we stayed. I asked the family who was still eating if they are ok with this, and they politely said yes. Feeling uncomfortable invading their privacy, we waited until they were done, and sat at the table of 8, with nobody to show up for the rest of the hour that we were there. So obviously, the claim that he cannot give us a table of 6 or 8, was proven wrong. Next, the food. The quantity is small, which was expected. Are two dishes enough for a couple? No. We ordered 3 dishes, and still fell short. Kids accommodated themselves in a single dish, but even the other two were not enough for adults. When asked if he has Daal, the guy jumps to Daal Tadka. I said Makhani, and he says they make it as Chana Daal, so we have to take Tadka. Have you ever heard of a Chana Daal Makhani? This is basically deception. The food arrives. Zero salt in everything. When we protested, he claims that this is how the French like to eat. Instead of accepting the cook's mistake, the guy argues back to unnecessarily defend the mistake. Every French restaurant we have eaten at, has had more salt than the tasteless food here. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice probably took off, because there were basically 2 or 3 small pieces in all. This was not even worth arguing because once again, this was also going to be blamed on the French. Just that, we don't look like French, and we were certainly not treated like the French couples who sat on 4 and 6 conjoined tables, while we were made to sit "bhandara" style. Last, the rose Lassi was bad too, with as little Lassi as possible in a glass of water. Bottom line, this is a bad restaurant. Do not go.
