Great Yelp reviews and a craving for Indian cuisine led me to 'Ravi' on a cold Parisian night. Ravi is small, cozy and dimly lit, with the restaurant barely able to seat 20 people, and that would be pushing it. The waiter was very professional and ran the entire dining room himself with another two gentleman running the kitchen. The decor and atmosphere throughout was very detailed and impressive from the wood trim on the walls to the tableware and candles. The Indian background music was also a nice touch and at the perfect volume level. Chicken Tika Masala and Lamb Madras were the entrees we ordered, passing on any starters or naan on this night. Both dishes were delicious, hot, fresh and exploding with flavors. We were also served a large plate of basmati rice to accompany our dishes which in itself was tasty. Unfortunately the extremely dim lighting made pictures hard to take and I wasn't able to get any good ones of the food. Despite my lack of pictures though, please trust me, this place is well worth a try!

In Paris for 3 days and found one of the best Indian restaurants. We went in on a Monday night around 8:00pm. The place seats about 40 people. The atmosphere was clean and casual. It had dim lighting, Indian music playing softly in the background and candle lit tables. We started off with a Kingfisher and vegetable samosas. The samosas were AMAZING!! WE ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and rice. The dishes were creamy and flavorful. I also ordered a mango lassi to go, which was of perfect consistency and tasty! The waiter was polite and professional. They served the cracker and chutney while we waited for our food. Overall best Indian place in Paris!

Food was really good! We squeezed in last minute. The place is tiny but super cute. It is different from American style Indian food, but if you like that you'll like this.

On Yelp, we had found Le Palais de Raja Maharaja and it was one of the best decisions I made in France. Actually, I believe that it is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in my life. If you don't speak French, they are very accommodating. When we walked in the restaurant, we were greeted and sat right away. The host and the owner was very friendly and inviting. He made some great recommendations on the menu. For a free starter, we were offered some papadum with some nice chutneys. It was all very tasty and fresh. We ended up ordering some vegetable samosas, butter chicken, and a lentil chicken soup. The samosas were fresh and crispy with nice flavors! Be careful, these things come out hot. The butter chicken did not have overcooked chicken which is a huge plus! It was savory, rich, and creamy. Sometimes, excess oil is a problem in butter chicken. But, not here! This dish was great. I have no complaints about the lentil soup, but it is pretty standard. Although it was quite good, it definitely wasn't the star of the meal. To end the night, we ordered halva dessert. It is a very sweet, dense confection dessert. It was absolutely delicious and will fulfill any sweet tooth. If you are looking to take a break from all of the French food in France, this would be a great option. Especially if you are staying at a nearby hotel.

We are a family from California so we are spoiled with really good Indian food, and although Taj Mahal isn't exactly what we are accustomed to, overall it was really enjoyable. I had the Pulet Tikka Massala (Chicken Tikka Massala). We also had the Poulet Tandori (Tandoori Chicken) and, Legumes Maison (veggies). Overall the quality was great, the tandoori chicken was cooked very well, and had really good flavor without being too spicy (as the person who got it, didn't want very spicy), my CTM was really good as well! My only drawback was that the sauce was a little sweet, which I am not a fan of. The veggies were tasty as well, especially with naan. As for the naan, I was really surprised with how good it was! Not too thick or over done. Was a great compliment to our plates. I can't say too much about service other than it was quick, we had our food delivered so we didn't get to experience the restaurant ambiance or service in that way, but either way, we were pleased. If you want something to eat aside from everything Paris has to offer, I think the Taj Mahal can you give you that little break from the usual. Will it blow you away? No. But is it a nice change from bread and cheese.. I think it's worth a shot.

Not a good place to eat, especially if you're wanting authentic Indian food, expecting good…read moreservice, or even expecting decency. Also, the restaurant doesn't look like anything in the photos you see, they are fake. As we entered the restaurant, the guy confirmed that we needed a table for 4. To my absolute horror, he took a couple of empty two seaters and joined them at the table of a family of 4 who are still dining. I have never experienced a restaurateur combining two tables to merge perfect strangers, unless of course the food being served is at a wedding, funeral or a birthday party - and you are getting it for free. When I asked how this is even a thing, he argued that it isn't a problem and pointed at two seaters joined to form tables of 6 and 8, saying that he can't seat us there. I look around and see 2 people sitting at the other 4 and 6 conjoined tables, but of course they aren't the same color as us. This is a classic case of reverse racism and stereotyping. I was about to walk out, but the kids hungered and we stayed. I asked the family who was still eating if they are ok with this, and they politely said yes. Feeling uncomfortable invading their privacy, we waited until they were done, and sat at the table of 8, with nobody to show up for the rest of the hour that we were there. So obviously, the claim that he cannot give us a table of 6 or 8, was proven wrong. Next, the food. The quantity is small, which was expected. Are two dishes enough for a couple? No. We ordered 3 dishes, and still fell short. Kids accommodated themselves in a single dish, but even the other two were not enough for adults. When asked if he has Daal, the guy jumps to Daal Tadka. I said Makhani, and he says they make it as Chana Daal, so we have to take Tadka. Have you ever heard of a Chana Daal Makhani? This is basically deception. The food arrives. Zero salt in everything. When we protested, he claims that this is how the French like to eat. Instead of accepting the cook's mistake, the guy argues back to unnecessarily defend the mistake. Every French restaurant we have eaten at, has had more salt than the tasteless food here. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice probably took off, because there were basically 2 or 3 small pieces in all. This was not even worth arguing because once again, this was also going to be blamed on the French. Just that, we don't look like French, and we were certainly not treated like the French couples who sat on 4 and 6 conjoined tables, while we were made to sit "bhandara" style. Last, the rose Lassi was bad too, with as little Lassi as possible in a glass of water. Bottom line, this is a bad restaurant. Do not go.
