The smaller portioned Chicken Tikka Massala was decent tasting, but Kirane's expensive. If considering that the Basmati rice cost you 5 euros extra. Almost 20 for both! I'll say that it's spice and flavor could also have been a bit better. The service was fairly attentive, but ignoring slow at times, and forgetful on the cafe crème. I had to ask for the variety of several samples to top onto the papadam. Otherwise, I don't think they would have given them to me. The Garlic naan is fresh and hot. A friend and I decided to pop over to Paris to go Christmas shopping and enjoy some food. I've been several times and enjoy the atmosphere, and cuisine. We had chosen this area to stay this time as my friend had a family acquaintance in the area. After visiting a Christmas market, Marche Noel, we decided to head back to our oasis. There are many choices for food in the area and we decided on Indian. The decor seemed very cozy, but decadent. We were welcomed warmly by the host staff. I'm so sorry to say in contrast our waiter was the polar opposite. He was a mid life gentlemen, with a condescending scowl and an elite air about him. He was cold and discriminate. Very little suggestion was made and we felt like we were causing him disgust. It was very unfortunate because the food selection was amazing. The other staff were pleasant though they seemed awkward following after our server seeming embarrassed. After our supper he tossed the bill at us onto the table in an ornate silver box to the point it bounced onto the table while he rolled his eyes. He was careful and not dramatic however the message was revived clearly; Americans are not welcome. We left quickly. If you're visiting and not a local I would very much avoid unless you like this sort of treatment. We were one of 3 tables in the whole of the restaurant at dinner time. I came here on a work trip; this was my first Indian food experience and let me just say. It made SUCH an impression that I immediately began planning what Indian restaurant in Houston I was going to take my friends to ASAP when I got home. Indian is now one of my favorite cuisines! Worst Indian restaurant that I ever tried. I love Indian food, and learned to appreciate the various dishes. I went to Kirane's last night with an Indian co-worker and mine and she agreed with me - this place is no good. 1. Service - even in Paris standards, the service was horrible. Took them 40min to serve us with drinks (even water), the sauces plate arrived with the Kabob appetizer (3 small for 10 euro), but was taken from us right after we finished the appetizer. They never brought it back even though we asked 3 times. We told the waiter but he could care less, and didn't even respond (he spoke perfect English). 2. Food was tasteless, it is Indian food!! it is hard to make it tasteless but they did it! We got the chicken tikka. First bit, bone in the chicken! I looked at the chicken and some pieces were full of fat. Considering that it is not a cheap place, I would expect them to do some quality control. 3. Price - not cheap at all, I figured that if we choose a 30 euro per person Indian meal, we will got something decent, but not at all. Don't waste your time or money - you can do better. The management here is very friendly and service is fast! Food was very tasty. Got to try the chicken saag, muttar paneer, daal Tardka and shahi korma! For a family of 4 that was more than enough food, probably could have ordered one less dish. All the meals were served with complimentary papard, achar and chutneys and a onion salad! I found this place while taking a walk near my hotel in Paris (Concorde La Fayette). I went in and asked if they'd make food without onions and garlic. They said they'd be able to make a few things. Over the next few days, I ate there at least 4 or 5 times. The ambience is like that of a typical Indian restaurant. The service was OK. The food was reasonably good. Nothing to write home about. Their parathas are better than their rotis. Skip the gulab jamuns. They were bad. As I was later to find out, the taste of Indian food at almost every restaurant in Paris is identical (or at least all of the places I went to). I ate at 3 places and all had a nearly identical menu for the vegetarian section and the choices of rice and bread. read more

My husband and I went to this restaurant on our last day of vacation in Paris. We did not end up eating here because the server was very rude to us(strong suspicion, which was confirmed after reading other reviews, because we are Indians) . He tried to force us into ordering more items on the menu, both my husband and I wanted to grab a quick bite as we had plans to walk a lot after that hence wanted to eat a light meal. There are plenty of amazing Indian food places in Paris with warm and welcoming staff. Better avoid Kirane's!! The food here was delicious but limited in quantity. Between four of us we needed to order five dishes plus naan and rice and it was only just enough. Although the bowls the food is presented in look big enough, they are only half full. My colleagues complained the "hot" dishes weren't hot enough, even the vindaloo, but my lamb saag was fine. The service is a bit patchy with some food coming and some not and required lots of follow up. Four of us came on a Monday night and the restaurant did fill up while we were there and began to feel a little cramped - the tables are quite close together. If you are craving a good curry, go, but if you're just looking for something to eat not specifically curry, go elsewhere. read more

If you are an Indian, you should not be visiting this place. To start with, you are not welcomed. Both the owner/wife and their waiters are very rude to Indians. They talk nicely with a smiling face to the local people and people from other countries, but not to Indians. It was the same experience to most of my other Indian colleagues. I would never go back to this place. Food taste I would give 4.5 out of 5. All the food we ordered was good. Portions are small, but not really small as others have mentioned. Service was prompt, waiters spoke English & French very well. Servers were helpful, kind, and attentive. Had menus in English & French. I had garlic naan, chicken masala, basmati rice, the chutneys & papadam, 2 kingfishers (nice & cold) all very good! Portions were slightly smaller than I am used to. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I was so excited to try this place as I love Indian food. I have a very dangerous nut allergy and asked the waiter if there were any nuts in the paneer masala. "Pas du tout"/"not at all" was his response. When the food was brought out, another waiter brought the "poulet (chicken) masala". I informed politely that I am a vegetarian and ordered the paneer (cheese). The first waiter came out and apologized, saying that he actually heard paneer but his writing may have been messy when he gave the ticket to the chef. No problem. About 4 bites in of the bowl of paneer masala, I begin to have a rather severe allergic reaction. I self-medicate at the table to curb the side effects and inform the waiter, asking if there was any room for error. He replied, "not at all, theres no nuts", starts yelling and saying that I'm lying. At the end of the meal, I was forced to pay for the entire bowl of food, which I physically could not eat because it would literally would have killed me. I felt it absolutely necessary to say that there is a high chance of cross contamination at this particular restaurant or that they are so desperate to sell the food, that they will lie to paying customers and force them to buy food that we can't eat. One of the lower level waiters was extremely apologetic, but his superior was absolutely unprofessional and rude. My friends were furious for me, but were scared to speak up because of his hostile attitude. Service terrible. J'ai une allergie grave au fruits à coque. We came to Paris and decided to eat here. If I could choose zero stars I would. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Way over priced for the amount and quality of the food. Firstly, our waiter was really rude and tried pushing us to get more food than we wanted and talked to us with serious attitude, and secondly, the food was watered down like crazy and didn't even have taste. Thirdly, the portions are way too small. I paid 15£ for chicken tikka masala and €5 for rice on the side. My masala only had 4 tiny tiny pieces of meat in it and very little sauce. We all left very unhappy and when we told the waiter how the food was watered down, overpriced, and low quality over all, he rudely disregarded everything we said. Will never come here again. We are vacationing in Paris and were craving for Indian food. We asked outlet concierge at LE Meridian and they recommended Kirane's. The moment we entered the restaurant I could feel it was uninviting and unfriendly. The owner was the rudest business owner I have met in my entire life. I travel extensively for business and eat at top restaurants in the world. Food service and ambience are the qualities you look for in a restaurant. The ambience was below average and the rudeness of the owner just shocked me. She told us because we were of Indian origin she was doing us a favor by seating us. The restaurant was 80% empty. She tried rushing us into ordering food. After such a bad welcome we tried to walk out of the restaurant and she started yelling and calling names. What a bad business practice and when you are in the hospitality business please try to learn some. I wonder how others feel. I checked the trip advisor reviews and there were a few which had the same experience. We ended up going to santoor near champ de élysées and a great experience with good food. read more
