I purchased a Groupon to get 3 rooms done. Because I got a cheaper deal through groupon, this review will be focused on the work and quality of the cleaners. The cleaners arrived within their window and I like that they update you within 30 min of their arrival. Both of the men were very nice and polite, I believe his name was Sam. I don't have any pets but I needed two rooms done due to some bathroom pipe breakage that occurred while I was on vacation which left my beautiful carpets horribly stained. When they were finished, the carpets looked brand new and you couldn't even tell that any water damage had occurred in the carpets. I did upgrade to the deep cleaning which I feel was totally worth it. They even got out stains that other methods would not get out, and Sam even offered to do a large area rug for me (for FREE!) since he noticed there were some food stains on it. Now my rug looks completely brand new. That was a nice thing to throw in for me and I appreciated it! We also have hardwood floors so the areas where the carpet transitions to the wood flooring got slightly wet, but the crew made sure to completely dry it. I'm not sure if I was just an outlier or if this is how they treat their potential customers. I called Chem Dry to come out to clean my two bathroom tiles. I made an appointment a week prior. The day before the appointment I get a call from their office lady saying that the equipment is broken and needs to be fixed. I understood. She moved me to the next day. I get a call later that day from the same lady saying she double booked me. I understood. She moved me to the end of the week because I was only able to meet at 9 am (like the two original appointments) due to work. At 855am, I get a call from their technician saying that the equipment broke and he'll be coming half an hour to fourty five minutes late "due to traffic". I personally think he just overslept and didn't make the appointment on time. How can you fix the equipment while your driving? I decided to cancel this appointment. I called the office lady and told her how dissatisfied and what a waste of time this has all been. She said the manager would call me....the manager never called me. What a terrible experience. I love writing reviews and I try and post them as accurately as possible. I like to give 5 stars if I believe service is good. In this case, I need to note here that I've been a customer of Chem Dry for many years.. They used to come down to my Cerritos home I rented. I used to use penny's aver coupons or I would get them in the mail reminding me that my tan carpets needed a good cleaning. We had dogs at the time so our carpets were pretty dirty most of the time or maybe just cause our carpets were light in shade? Either way, I usually paid for a deep clean which was about 140 for a living room, den and 2 bedrooms. The cleaners always arrived on time and even called me to let me know they were on their way. After I moved from that home to a much smaller apartment I tried cleaning my own rugs with one of those rentals from grocery stores since my apartment doesn't get too dirty. So, I called Chem Dry to help out 6 weeks ago...Service was excellent, I believe the same receptionist answered. Carpets were looking great and my cleaner was friendly. I got a Groupon for 3-room carpet cleaning and was able to scheduled it rather easily with Yvette at the 1-800 number. They also called to confirm the appointment the day before. My technician was running the late the day of: I was scheduled for noon-3pm, but he didn't arrive until just after 4pm. I had to call a couple of time to check on the status, but customer service were nice about it and gave me updates when they have them. When Garrett arrived, he was really friendly and cleaned my 2 bedrooms plus closets and a rug and just charged a tiny bit extra ($5/each) for the closets and rug. The cleaning itself took about 45 minutes, and while my carpets weren't really that dirty, it was nice to get them cleaned and Garrett fluffed them also so they look newer. If you don't have super dirty carpets, the Groupon is a great deal, but if you need some serious cleaning, they'll likely recommend the deep clean (extra charge) upon arrival and a quick assessment of the carpet conditions. read more

I am giving 3 stars because it was okay... the guy showed up on time, worked quickly... but my carpets were not as clean as they usually are after other companies have cleaned them. I have a dog and she can be messy sometimes... I still saw some of her stains and spots after the cleaning... that never happens with the other companies. I have a Bissell carpet cleaner and usually clean my own carpets, but I was moving out of my apartment and the lease required professional carpet cleaning upon move-out. I called in to the call center before I purchased the Groupon to ask about availability and additional pricing (for stairs) and the woman I spoke with was polite and helpful. Ended up purchasing the deal, though I was really nervous because I've heard a lot of negative things about these types of services. After purchasing, I called in and added $25.00 for the stairs (which I thought was super reasonable) and paid for everything up front. I was actually out of town on the day they came to clean, but my roommate, who was there said that they were on time and really fast. They never called or showed. Sunday left a message on machine how they never called or showed. Today (Monday) called in morning explain that they never showed, was told appointment was for today between 1-4. At4:30 called company and was told I had no appointment. UPDATE: Got a hold of Mark who is the manager. He immediately supported his employee's disrespect and bad attitude because he claims he's never had negative complaints against Garret. This company's values clearly do not put the customer first. I've never had such a bad experience with a service company in my life. Absolutely terrible service by Garret who was very rude and disrespectful. I first asked him if he had booties as soon as he entered and he said no with lots of attitude. I offered him to grab my own booties and while I was going to grab them he threatened to cancel the appointment. He gave a bunch of snark comments like "I step on clean carpets all day." He obviously was not having a good day and didn't want to work. I did not feel comfortable with someone who would disrespect me in my own house within 1 minute of entering to clean my carpets. I had my carpets cleaned with Miguel a few weeks ago. I would give 5 stars b/c of his professionalism, promptness, friendliness, and he moved small furniture items out of the way. He came right on time, there was only a 30 min window for arrival and he came at the start of the window. I have a small 2 bedroom condo. I bought a groupon for 3 rooms and I had him do two bedrooms and the small hallway. I paid $25 more for stairs, which was the going rate for the companies on Groupon as I shopped around. My carpets look good, but I'm not too sure about their dirt extraction methods and that's why I'm giving overall 4 stars; seems like they sprayed chemical cleansing solution (non-toxic) and then rubbed it in with their big spinning machine with a cloth mop on the end of it. I think something that sucks the dirt out with a vacuum method would be better. I'm not sure how much dirt was removed, but I had not cleaned my carpets in 4 years from when I purchased new. I walk with no shoes on carpet there were no stains to begin with, just routine dust removal. In short, Miguel was a win, and I'm not sure about the type of carpet cleaning they provide but I'm glad I went for it. All in all, I paid $89 total. read more

Moved into a new apartment recently; two of the rooms had carpets that were once white (I assume). I've been sleeping in the living room so I don't have to touch that nasty ish. I needed a carpet clean, fast, so I went to Groupon and found these guys. Called them the first day a bit too late (I'm a night owl) and left a message with my name and info. No callback by 4PM the next day. Called them again to book an appointment and spoke to a nice woman who told me she would call back. She never did... Called the NEXT day around 2:30PM to book an appointment and spoke to a very terse man, was told my voucher was only for surface cleaning, not carpet. The voucher states, as follows: "three rooms of carpet cleaning (spin-bonnet method) with deodorizer, up to 750 sqft" Soooo.... as you can imagine, I'm over here scratchin' my head. He told me that my voucher could not be used for my home and gave me a quotes for similar services... Even though the voucher clearly states the service as carpet cleaning, and spin-bonnet cleaning can be used on pretty much any surface, aaand the two rooms I need cleaned are less than 400sq ft combined. I'm very confused and disappointed, as they are the only carpet cleaners on Groupon who come to Harbor City, and unemployment+moving costs has left me with no other options but to spend a week on the floor, scrubbing away at splotchy grey carpets and hoping for a better customer experience some day. I called Mark, because I've used his services before, and they have always done a great job! I had some carpet cleaning scheduled for last Saturday. For a deep clean. The tech was early, polite and professional. When the tech went to do the deep clean the equipment wasn't working, and he told me that he was going to do the basic package at no charge, and If we still needed the deep cleaning they would come back next week which I confirmed I would be charged for the deep cleaning fee. The basic cleaning met our needs and I told Mark they didn't need to come back out. Mark told me he would be charging me for a basic cleaning, which caught me off guard because I was told it was at no charge by the tech the day of the cleaning, as well as speaking with Mark that day and him not mentioning paying for the basic cleaning either. After a discussion with him today, Mark agreed not to bill me for the basic service based upon what I was told. At no time did the tech complete a new invoice showing the charges for the basic cleaning, or I would have paid him on the spot (we were paying cash for the deep clean that was originally suppose to be done) or have waited to get the deep cleaning done. When I asked Mark for something in writing stating I would not be billed he wouldn't provide me with anything and stated that he was going to write on the invoice and account "no charge". I had Chem Dry June of 2018 clean several rooms, stairs and hallway that resulted in spot stains forming on carpet which are permanent. After numerous calls and a second technician coming out stating he observed the spots too and was unable to resolve the issue. Branch owner chose to block my phone calls and; has failed to follow up to date. The term of limited water used is an understatement, my carpet remained wet for several weeks. Other rooms carpet untouched by Chem Dry looks better than supposedly cleaned areas. What is most disturbing is, the lack of accountability by this branch and it's continued ignorance of this unresolved situation as though it never occurred.... it now almost October of 2018 and have not been contacted by the owner. read more

Lying, cheating scumbags. We got hosed by these bozos three years ago. Classic bait and switch. Under quoted then showed up with much higher rates. We made the mistake of calling them again and ........same thing. Ridiculously priced but we were desperate to get the carpets done. They promised they would be here at 8:30am. We rearranged our schedules, moved the furniture around and waited. They call us a 9am to say they had truck problems and would not be here until 10:30. Same bull story as last time. Same truck problems. They obviously had no intention of showing up at 8:30. After demanding an additional discount for our inconvenience, they agreed. I bought a groupon deal to clean my couches. Had to pay extra for each extra foot after 12 feet which I was aware of, the price was still reasonable. My couch is 16 feet so it cost me extra 60$ plus extra 10$ because I live in a building so my total was about 160$ for L shaped couch. The tech was very thorough and my whole couch was soaking wet so looked like he covered every single spot. I was aware that some spots won't come off but to be honest my couch looks just the same, not only all the dirty spots were there after the couch was dry but the fabric is now tough and not soft and it doesn't look like it was cleaned, basically looks like it was just soaked in water. I've taken off the pillows apart before and washed it myself and it looked better. I think it wasn't worth the price. Really sad it doesn't look cleaner. read more
