Over the years, we have worked closely with Luis, and a few qualities have consistently stood out: he is always punctual, offers fair pricing, and delivers remarkable results. This time, we decided to move forward with a project Luis recommended: refinishing one of the wood laminate kitchen countertops in our rental unit. Initially, I expected the result to look like a simple repaint, especially considering how worn and faded the laminate surface had become. However, once I saw the finished work, I could hardly believe my eyes. It genuinely looked as though we had replaced the countertop with granite. The finish appeared solid, durable, and waterproof. Luis and his team did an outstanding job. I was truly blown away by both the quality of the workmanship and the final result. I only wish I had taken before-and-after photos, but judging by the many client photos already available, you can clearly see the level of quality they consistently deliver. Would I use Always Refinishing again and highly recommend their work? Absolutely: 100%.

The yep was really nice and overall I think he did a good job (the smell is a lot so I didn't get to really inspect yet) But before he left I pointed out that paint was removed from the walls. I took photos of the few that I could see before he sealed the room. When I called the company they said in the fine print there is a note that they are not responsible for any damage to the walls. I just had this bath redone so it's not an old paint issue! So now I'm going to pay $400 for a small bathtub to be reglazed and have to hire a painter to come out and smooth and repaint the walls. Needless to say shit customer service!!

I didn't love that they initially tried to charge me…read morejust to come and evaluate the scope of work for the piece, especially when I knew the pricing was probably going to be costly (and it was). Thankfully they waived the fee. I trusted that they would do a good job based on their portfolio. They were accurate in their timeline for the completion of the project and the resulting hutch looks fantastic, I have no complaints there. The main reason I am giving this business two stars is because their communication leaves A LOT to be desired. I asked for progress photos as they were working on the piece in their shop. They never sent pictures until I had to follow up and ask for them. They knew ahead of time that they were going to need to deliver my piece urgently because they were going to need all the space in their shop for their next project. Yet, they did not communicate this with me until the very last minute, what were they going to do with my piece if I was unavailable for delivery when they needed it gone? That seemed like poor planning to me. Upon the initial quoting of the piece, I specifically asked them to not only have the main mirror replaced by their third party, but also have the antique locks repaired. I provided them with a key that fit the lock to aid in this process. They returned my piece to me with not only the lock issue not addressed, but also with one of the cabinet doors not fully functional (which is not how it was when they took the piece at the beginning). I had to report this issue after they had already left. It was only then that he recommended I contact his third party locksmith to resolve the issue. His recommended locksmith (Sav-Mor Lock & Key) has been completely unresponsive, and I can't find other locksmiths who specialize in antique locks. I then asked Haer where is the key that I gave them when they picked up the hutch, and it was only THEN that they told me they tried to test the key in one of the locks and a piece of the key broke off and is STILL currently stuck in one of the locks (they also didn't specify which lock they tested either). I am extremely disappointed and frustrated because I clearly specified all my needs before they accepted the project, and now I received an incomplete service. They have also stopped responding to my communications completely, which I find outrageous and irresponsible. I also got the impression that working on my project was a chore for them, as if I didn't pay top dollar for them to give me their best work. Again, in terms of their actual craftsmanship, Jose (who I believe did most of the work) did a great job. However, communication is a huge factor in determining who I award my business to, and based on my experience I wouldn't feel comfortable trusting them with another one of my projects.

We did feel 12 bags of self leveling concrete was excessive when it looked like it was only used on a few corners of the room in a job less than 900 sq feet. Unfortunately one of the stair nosing broke within a couple weeks of install. Rafi was responsive in redoing the stairs stating it was a manufacturing defect and that the new version is stronger. Unfortunately the second team quality of work was very poor. They left holes in our walls that were patched poorly with plaster. Worst of all the stairs were apparently nailed to the subfloor and after a few weeks they started to rise leaving little holes and nails protruding from the floor. A few of the stair noses are loose as well. At this point, Rafi became unresponsive to have the flooring fixed. We ended up getting some of our money back through our credit card after months went by but the majority of the payment was by check. Basically we will need to replace the stairs again on our own dime. Buyer beware! Lifetime warranty doesn't mean anything if the installer ghosts you.

1/21/26 Downstairs floor replacement project…read more Our downstairs flooring only lasted 4 years due to high humidity and no underlayment. When we first installed, the manufacture did not recommend an additional underlayment but the humidity simply killed our vinyl planks. We tried glue, filler and then clear tape. Nothing worked and it was simply terrible in appearance. I reached out to Alan end of last year to report the need of new flooring. He came to check out the areas and agreed it was due to humidity. We chose a new flooring only lasted color and type since our current one was discontinued. We opted for a new water resistant laminate that requires an underlayment which was needed in our case. We got the floors redone 1/21/26. The guys finished in 4.5 days. Good team and workmanship. I felt really bad that we were supposed to move all the little things beforehand and it completely slipped my mind. I thought they would move the furniture from one side of the room to the side but they ended up moving everything out in the garage. Due to all the cutting dust, everything brought out was covered in a layer of dust. I had to clean everything off upon the move back in which was tedious. I wish they would have recommended me to buy some plastic coverings. The half day on Sunday, the guys helped move the pool table back, completed last minute touch ups and re-installed my quartz on the vanity to fit under the mirror. They did a fantastic job and considering they had to reuse my old baseboards, it was nicely preserved for reinstall after the new floors were laid. Despite of the small hiccup with lots of dust on furniture, I was very satisfied with the crew's install. It's so nice to have flat and smooth floors again. As always, Alan visited in person daily to ensure progress, and address any concerns we had. We have been loyal to Alan for many years. I appreciate his continued transparency in business practice. The headboard's material was peeling and there were tears in the bench. I delivered both to the company's shop in Santa Ana. Both pieces were reupholstered as I waited. They have a variety of materials. I used an industrial vinyl for the headboard and leather (they had a scrap piece which fit perfectly!) for the bench. Each choice and reason for using one material vs another type was thoroughly explained so I felt comfortable with my choice. I also saw and understood why the original material on the headboard peeled, thus guiding my choice to the industrial vinyl (which is beautiful). I had the bench reupholstered a few years back. Upon removal of the original materials, it was found that two different colors of vinyl were used. There were also two different pieces of foam which were not glued properly and caused a dip to be created over time in the middle of the bench. Craftsmanship and materials were important for me on this project because I plan on keeping these pieces. I'm very happy with my experience, the value and price paid.
