This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. I have never had a bad meal until tonight. There wonton soup is delicious. The eggplant dish great. Orange beef was tasty. Tonight was just off I ordered the spicy crispy chicken and the chef special crispy beef. Chicken was ordered mild and the beef medium. There probably is nothing wrong with the chicken dish I just don't care for the taste. It was Luke warm. The broccoli was good. The real issue is the beef. It was overcooked. It's not spicy at all. Not sure if the chef didn't pay attention but just plain awful. Total waste. Now I need to cook eggs for dinner. read more

I got food delivered! I really like their mapo tofu. It's delish. I got mild. The honey glazed walnut shrimp is just ok; too much batter for my taste and not sweet enough. I also got shrimp with veggies which could have used a smidge more stock or salt, still good. And they gave me firm/fried tofu with veggies instead of mapo tofu the second time I ordered. It was okay. But I am not a fan of tofu with the skin on it. I also did not like the selection of mixed veggies that came with it and whatever brown sauce they used. I love Chinese food, which is obvious since my profile pic is of a dim sum spread. This place is very typical hole in the wall Chinese restaurants. It caught my eye cause they were having some dishes as BOGO on Uber eats. I got the chicken in black bean sauce. It didn't hit as hard as black bean dishes at other place, but it was good. Lots of chicken and fresh veggies. I got the salty and spicy (salt and pepper) chicken wings. One. Comment on here said they were greasy and salty. Well it's in the name and these were delicious. They us big wings/drumsticks. Nice crunchy exterior. Delicious salty batter bits with fresh jalapeño, green onion and garlic. I also got the combination chow fun. Nice chew to the noodles. Shrimp, beef and chicken all tasted great. I think if I ordered again from the BOGO options I'd get the kung pao chicken instead. We've been going to Chef Ming's as long as they've been here. Since it's one of our closest places for Chinese takeout that's the reason. We haven't ordered from them for a long time and I noticed they added a lot more items to their menu. I decided to get the Mu Shu Duck, Hot & Crispy Shrimp, Vegetable Fried Rice and Sauteed String Beans. They had a Summer special when you order over $75 you get to choose one of four free appetizers. I chose the potstickers. I didn't realize I ordered that much but that was okay. We have leftovers. The orders were pretty sizeable and was way too much food for two people. Starting from the best to worst - Mu Shu Duck was very tasty but the hoisin sauce was a little runny for my taste. I ordered the string beans cooked in black bean sauce. Very tasty and crunchy. The rice was also delicious, hard to ruin that. The shrimp was not crispy at all. It seem like they deep fry them with batter and cover them with a sauce that's like ketchup. Not what I was expecting. Lastly, the potstickers tasted like they were baked - soft, spongy and cold. We threw them out. Overall, there food is fresh and I've never had a problem with the quality of dishes but you have to know which ones are the best. After all these years you think I would know by now. read more

I ordered the Shrimp Chow Fun and it does not disappoint. We also ordered the Chow Mein and Beef and Broccoli and I must say the quality is fantastic for everything. My biggest gripe with this place is the prices. The beef and broccoli comes wth steamed rice and when we asked to upgrade that to fried rice, they said it would be $6. We did not upgrade. The garlic fried rice in my opinion was way too salty to eat and the black bean chicken was so-so. Good selection on an easy to read menu wall. Choose from 30 lunch specials from Mon-Sat 11-3:30. I had the Chicken Sautéed with Vegetables. That was a lot of food. They have hot Chinese mustard but you need to ask for it. Disappointed when Chinese restaurants only have duck sauce. Some of us want more heat and this mustard sauce might burn your nostrils if you're not careful. I noticed some Thai items like Pad Thai and Tom Yum Soup. Service is good and while all orders are to go there are a few inside seats and outside tables. Eating outside is relaxing because the parking lot is between you and busy Olympic. If you're used to the typical MSG-laden, overly salty and oily American Chinese food, and that's what you come here expecting, you won't like it here. For someone like me who prefers fresh food with no MSG, natural ingredients and moderate sodium, which basically rules out 99% of all Chinese restaurants, this is a gem. The flavors are good and the food is well cooked without being too oily or salty. I just moved to this area and I'm vegetarian so when I found that this spot was just down the street...I figured it was too good to be true! It's true and it's super good! I ordered Togo and they took the time to package everything up nice and neat so there's not sauce all in the bottom of the bag. Huge portion sizes for a great price! I've had better food at Panda Express :/ I order the pork/shrimp shumai and sesame chicken lunch special. Chicken was chewy and didn't taste good, fried rice it came with was so brown I thought it was brown rice. The shumai was the worst, leaking a weird white substance from one of the pieces, tasted chewy and dry in the middle so I assume they're from frozen.
