super underrated spot the portions were huge, flavorful and high quality for a late night order. We got the beef pat see you and the yellow curry and both are amazing. Recommended!! the service was super nice and accommodating ! They made our meals as quick as possible, and was the best possible thing we could've gotten for dinner tonight The ambience was great with plenty of seating. They have many fans to try to keep a cool during this crazy heat wave. thank you melanee thai read more

Randomly found this spot when I was looking for late night food. Not only was the food fire, the portions were very generous! 10/10 recommend. And the service was great too. read more

No AC when we went here. It was super hot inside so we got our food to go. The portions are massive but the food isn't very good. Not very flavorful. Noodle dishes were over cooked so noodles were super soggy. read more

Great food! Service was great too! Very hospitable! Ambiance is good. Price is just right.

Highly solid late night thai option if that's what you're in the mood for. Very generous with the portions and always reliable. The only critique I'd have is the dishes seem to be heavy on the oil so come prepared for that if it's not your jam. Otherwise super solid. Go here fam. read more

We were starving after we were done at the MagiQ Escape Room. This place was very close and we LOVE Thai food. Parking was challenging, but we got lucky when we found ONE open spot on the street very near to the restaurant. My brother on the other hand had a little bit of a walk. They were not busy, so we got seated right away. The place looked neat and clean. There were six of us in a booth, so it was a little tight. The table was also a little too small to hold all the food that we ordered. The food was so good, but Thai food isn't that cheap. The service definitely could have been better. He didn't check up on us nor give us water unless we called for him. Come on!! The restaurant wasn't busy!!! Stop watching TV!!! read more

Quiet Wednesday dinner at this mom and pop diner. Feels like your visiting kun yay's house, the aroma of vintage furniture and freshly made home cooking invading your senses. The guy manning the front is friendly and quick. Ordered pad sew and orange chicken with pad thai. Thai tea delicious, not too sweet. Pad see ew was buttery in the mouth with a balanced flavor of sweet and spicy. Orange chicken was crispy and just enough sweetness, kept coming back for more. Pad thai tasted just like home. Also flat buttery noodles that is both savory and slightly sweet. Servings were large, plentiful, and great for sharing. read more

I had called 30 minutes prior to their late closing time and the gentlemen was really nice and said come straight in and order. I had the intention of dining in and when I got there he said it was for pick-up only because of the closing time, but he accommodated us and said for us to go ahead and eat there. The food was decent, good flavoring, I liked the crunchy egg rolls and Pad Thai noodles. Since it is one of the Thai places open late, I would go back. It's just a distance from me but reasonable. Prices are a little bit higher than most Thai places and I think that's due to location. Very old style, hole in the wall feel but very warm and cozy inside. The owner was really nice. read more

This place is a gem and I was shocked not to see anyone else in the restaurant with us on a Friday night, though thrilled that my friend and I had it to ourselves. I love the decor and the food was impeccable. I ordered Daniel's Special and it was great. Add a couple of Singhas into the mix and some good company: magic! Come check it out; you'll be glad you did! read more

It's been quite some time since I had an opportunity to post a review (this year!! Ugh!! Right??!). But I would be remiss if I didn't make time to include MELANEE THAI. This is a local restaurant which specializes in Asian/thai cuisine. It's owned by a lovely husband and wife. I have eaten there many many times over the past couple of years but especially this year. What is great: Their hours. They are almost always open. According to the owner they need to be open late to survive. Recommend: Some of their specialty dishes like their traditional Thai noodles are both abundant in portion and delicious. The vibe: Pretty low key and basically empty so you feel like you are in the restaurant by yourself. What's not so great: I had one of their chicken and rice dishes - NEVER AGAIN (I'm not sure how you screw up chicken but ugh). Their wonton soup: a very lackluster amount of stuff in the soup.. and I felt pretty queasy after eating it (2X) so NEVER AGAIN. Especially for like $18. Their prices: For the quality of the food, this restaurant is overpriced. Especially compared to their competitors. Service: Extremely slow. Only go here when you have PLENTY of time. Seriously, for a restaurant that is usually looking to ramp up business, this place is really slow. I am always TRYING to support local businesses. So go to MELANEE THAI, and judge for yourself. I give them an E for effort. And a slow hand clap for their noodle dishes. But beyond its Omni-availability, it's not especially noteworthy. HIT AND MISS - eat at your own risk.. read more

I just tried thier pad thai and pad seu this Saturday and it was amazing!!! Ive been passing by this place for decades and never tried it! I will be a regular here now! Stopped by with a group of friends on Wednesday night. It was empty and quiet when we arrived. We were seated right away, and they turned on the music for us which was nice. We ordered steamed dumplings to share, and I ordered Pad See Ew for myself. The food was great. A little pricey but reasonable with the large portion sizes. Everyone had leftovers to bring home! The service was fine - he stopped by our table for refills once. We waited a while for the check so one of my friends ended up having to go up and ask for it Overall, we had a great experience. The food was delicious, and the staff was kind. I would recommend and would likely order takeout from here soon :) Parking: Plenty of metered street parking available nearby read more

Do not waste your money. High prices for minimal ingredients and bland taste. The pad see ew had only a stem of broccoli in what was just noodles and bits of chicken without the usual flavor of pad see ew. The green curry was a dull tan color, tasted watered down, and only had chicken and a few pieces of old-tasting eggplant. Even the white rice was terrible--cooked with too much water and had stringy brown stuff throughout. read more

Friends and I were hungry after late night tennis and couldn't find anywhere decent to eat at around 10:30pm. Thankfully Melanee Thai was open. It was a new restaurant to all of us. We were greeted and seated, provided menus and water. I had the melanee special which was glass noodles with shrimp. It was so good! I don't know how people can say it's expensive and then say "the portions are huge I have left overs for days!" That means there is value then because you're saving on another meal, being able to eat it again. Everything is expensive nowadays but at least you get a large serving. Old school style, hole in the wall with strong options to choose from. My friends had the garlic Chicken and rice and Thai coffee which they also said were very tasty. I would definitely visit and recommend to see for yourself. read more

Small and cozy Thai food restaurant. The food was great! The Pad See Ew, Orange Chicken, and pineapple fried rice were all delicious and I would definitely order again! Service was pretty slow, and we had to ask multiple times for them to fill up our water even though there was only 1 other group in the restaurant. Parking is also very difficult, metered street parking only. read more

Omg the best little Thai place on the planet!!! I ca not rave enough. If you live in Beverly Hills area it should be a daily ritual. Paul the owner is the nicest man & such a great host. The dumplings were so good my 8 year old had 2 orders. The adorable decor & the cleanliness were a breath of fresh air. It had such a pleasant vibe. Thank you Paul we can't wait to come back read more

I wanted some thai food on my way home and just happened upon this place and I'm sad I didn't find it sooner when I was working basically next door! All I got was pad see ew with chicken but it was really solid, the flavor was great, they actually used Chinese broccoli not regular broccoli (which is such a red flag in my opinion, regular broccoli gets too soggy for pad see ew!) and the chicken is still moist and there's big chunks of it. But where this place really shines is the portions. Dear lord. I don't think I'll be able to finish this over the entire weekend and it's currently Thursday. Like yes this was $21/$22 dollars but I don't think I've ever seen this much pad see ew in my life. Oh I also got vinegary jalapeños on the side which were nice and sour and spicy. The wait also wasn't too bad, he quoted me 20 mins and it took about that long. The owner seemed kind and the food was tasty so I'd come back! When I'm looking to feed a family of 4 lol. read more

07/01/2021 Along Pico Blvd, you can literally pass this place if you aren't looking for it. It's on the south side of Pico on a hill. Couple of meters in the front with a 5 minute loading space. When you check-in, you receive 10% off of your bill. In my case, it was just 1 item ordered. I called it in so I could pick it up as soon as it is ready. I talked to Paul and he asked the small or large order. I don't know as I have not been here before. $12 vs $15 for the order so I went with the small order. When I stopped in, I talked to Paul for a minute. Showed him the check-in discount. He suggested I eat my order of pad Thai with white rice. Comes with 1 veggie egg roll with dipping sauce. It's a good healthy portion even for a small order. Next time I want shrimp instead of chicken. I took a selfie with Paul as I am sure to return to try something else. There's a small bar counter in the back. I'm sure you could take sips while waiting for your food order. read more

Found this mom-and-pop place when looking for a late-night snack after a film screening in Beverly Hills...and, half-dozen times later, I haven't gone for Thai food anywhere else! Excellent, courteous service, fair prices (considering the high quality of the food), and the best red and yellow curries I've ever had, thin but flavorful beyond imagination. *Yelp's Thank You Thursdays* Thank Paul & Melanee Thai. You're always there & here when I need & needed you. And I'm truly grateful. You're always extremely kind, considerate & professional and you continue to show genuine gratitude to me and all your customers. You're also some of the hardest working people I've ever known. Your lunch specials are all delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. You offer a wide variety of Authentic Thai food and what I call "Paul's Americanized unique spin on creative Thai cuisine." Your steamed fish & veggies is one of the best and still one of my favorite quick go-to meals whenever I don't feel like cooking or tired of eating the same ole foods from my daily rotation. Every friend & family member I've taken here, and everyone I've recommended, all enjoyed their meals and returned for repeat dining experiences. Even though I'm not usually awake & hungry after midnight, you provide a necessary & great service with staying open until 2am for those night owls - too bad we didn't know each other back in my night owl days :) Thanks again for being a true gentleman & restauranteur. The neighborhood & regular customers appreciate you so much. As I do too. read more

I love the food here! Spicy basil and egg rolls! Service is great every time I come in friendly and definitely has a family feel.

Such great food, I never go wrong when I come here. The gentleman behind the counter is always so pleasant and welcoming. You feel at home with how warm he is. The place is dimly lit, with a lot of space and it feels almost like you're walking into a classic movie scene for what you expect a Thai restaurant to look and feel like. The food is great quality, you can tell there's pride behind the food being passed out of that kitchen window. You can taste the QUALITY ingredients that make up their dishes and they're open late! They're one of the only Thai restaurants open this late in the city and that alone makes them deserve your business. read more

I was on a business trip in May 10,2022, and wanted something good for dinner that was within walking distance of hotel. I ordered Julien's special pineapple fried rice with pineapple chicken curry and Thai iced tea. There was enough food for two people to share and very reasonable prices. The pineapple in both the rice and curry added a sweetness to the fried rice and curry that was very pleasant. The owner treated me well and his wife made great food. Unfortunately I won't get to try any more dishes since I fly home tomorrow. read more

I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars because it's open late, fast, reliable, and the entree I like (basil chicken) isn't overly drenched in heavy sauces like other restaurants. Also last time I ordered the sticky rice mango it's was inedible because it tasted like fish. I accidentally ordered this on UberEats a second time after vowing not to eat here ever again and now I remember which place this is. I'm not terribly upset because I like the meal but it is a slightly pricier Thai restaurant compared to boom Thai down the street... and the memory of the fishy mango is very disturbing especially when expecting fresh mango over quality sticky rice. I don't know if this is traditional for the dessert or not but you can tell this restaurant has a particular style so I'm not going to rate them any lower since the desert was edible this time (not fishy) but still not very good. read more

Open until 2am, clear vegan options, and a chef who is actually from Thailand practicing his craft in the kitchen for decades, say no more. Wanted to order vegan take out to ensure they do not use fish oyster sauce, egg, meat, shrimp oil etc. Kind man answered the phone with so much positivity I had to place an order. Huge portions, wow. Ordered Pad Thai with vegetables (broccoli, carrots, sprouts, green onion), no peanuts. Half thin rice noodles, half pad see ew flat rice noodles. There was a different orange color in noodles which I'm not normally used to, but I believe it's from tamarind/paprika/light chili pepper like sriracha without brown colored oyster sauces etc. Chef Paul is amazing and really cares about customer needs. If you order through DoorDash or delivery services, just specify in your notes! I called in advance to be sure and they will pay attention to your instructions if you have allergies.
