This place is such a hidden gem. The pricing is so reasonable, especially for the area which is always overpriced everywhere you go. The food is also delicious, the pad Thai, gyoza, panang, etc., all incredible! Thai food is my favorite so finding a good spot is always a delight, and Thai Boom is quickly becoming one of my new go-to's. The orange chicken and the pad see ew were amazing. You can actually taste the orange in the sauce and it was just marvelous. The wontons were tasty with a hint of curry flavor...just delicious. The food was amazing! It started with an appetizer: combination of egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and shrimp wrapped in crunchy noodles! Followed by coconut soup w/ shrimp, mushrooms, and lemon grass with a hint of lime on the soup. We also had Pad Thai and combination fried rice. Don't forget the fried banana for dessert! Me and the boyfriend eat here all the time. Well, once a week or so. We are lucky that we can walk here so parking is not an issue but I don't think street parking would be too difficult, at least not at night. Thai Boom is a cute hole in the wall Thai restaurant. the food is not super remarkable, but it's tasty enough, the portions are fairly big and the price is reasonable. I'm in the habit of always ordering the same thing which is drunken noodles with chicken. The boyfriend loves his super spicy with veggies. No joke, he starts sweating on the second bite. We came to Thai Boom for dinner, not knowing what to expect since Yelp reviews seemed to be hit or miss, but Google reviews seemed to be great. We got here a little less than an hour before they closed and we're seated immediately. The restaurant was empty so I was a bit nervous about what the quality of the food would be. However, I am happy to say that the two dishes I tried were very good! I ordered their Red Curry with vegetables and a bowl of brown rice, while my partner ordered a Pad Thai with Shrimp. The Curry was creamy and flavorful and there was an abundance of vegetables in my bowl. The bowl was pretty big as well, unlike some extra fancy places with tiny bowls of curry. I tried my partner's Pad Thai and it had the perfect amount of sweetness as well! I'd love to give this place another try in the future as there were a lot of items on their menu that look promising! There is inside seating only (the place is not too large) with table seating with partial booths. Interior is casual and decorated nicely. Service was good and adequate. Parking is street only (metered or anything you can find). On this visit we tried the following: Fresh Rolls - Shrimp, chicken, lettuce, bean sprouts, carrot, basil, cucumber, rice noodles, ground peanut in hoisin sauce. Fresh tasting, and good portion for two. Two large rolls cut in half. Enjoyed the hoisin peanut sauce. Spicy Eggplant (lunch special) - Purple eggplant, bell pepper, jalapeno, onion, chili, basil and garlic. It came with a salad and a portion of rice as part of the lunch special. Friend enjoyed this. Pad Thai Noodle w/chicken (lunch special)- Rice noodles, egg, green onion, bean sprout, ground peanut. When I resided in Beverly Hills, I regularly went for dine-in and pickup, and when I moved to the Culver City area, I always came back before or after getting my nails done at the nearby salon, Nature's Nails. Even now that I have moved out of state to Nevada, whenever I am back in L.A. (which is regularly because of business), I make a point to set my lunch or dinner meetings here. Thai Boom has delicious Thai food with generous portions, an immaculate dining area, and fabulous customer service. It is conveniently located in Beverly Hills on Robertson Blvd (easy parking on Gregory). Thai boom is one of my favorite Thai restaurant because it feels back to a family restaurant where you can unload and get a cozy seat, close to the staff and even hearing the sound stir fries, of course, the food is still the spirit. Ordered the vegan drunken noodles with tofu (additional charge for tofu if you get the vegan version but no additional charge if you get tofu with the normal drunken noodles which I found interesting). First off, it is rare to find people who take pride not just in their food, but in their culture. Every time we have dined in, the staff have been so kind and accommodating to us. Their combo fried rice is not only $18 after taxes, but lacks any meat-- 2 shrimp, barely any chicken or beef, a scant of green or onions. It's pitiful. This meal option is a big money maker, considering fried rice is cheap as dirt. They used to charge $10 for it, and provided a lot more quality ingredients. Tonight I discovered why they don't have at least 4 stars: The food here is okay, but it's not compelling, and at the price point I probably won't be running back. The epicenter of the problem with my meal was the chicken in my Spicy Eggplant Chicken. ($14) Some slices tasted good but too many had that bad aftertaste. Not bad in an I'm going to get sick way, just not the delicious melt in your mouth buttery taste that other Thai restaurants serve up. The vegetables were fine. The service was fine. Parking is at meters all over Robertson. Prices are 15% more than you would like them to be. They also offered Spicy Eggplant as a dinner special for $2 more than Ala Carte but was told that to make up for the extras you get for $2 more you get less of the main dish. Forget it! I ordered Pad See Eew and I received something else very spicy and tons of chilling flakes, similar to the Entree I ordered. I couldn't eat a bite, even if I tried, I did enjoy the egg rolls (but nothing special, they where not fresh , you can tell their was a little coldness in the middle , just my look to reheat fresh delivery food.
