Solid 4 star thai restaurant. Went on a random Wednesday afternoon with a large group. Everyone in the group got food from the lunch menu. Took about 30 minutes to get the food out so I'd assume all the food was cooked fresh. Server was prompt and efficient with orders and refills. Some of the foods were kind of weird. That's the reason for -1 star. All the pad thais were kind of sweet. But the curries were phenomenal! The red curry and yellow curry were both close to perfect. Had to add chili flakes to it to spice it up. Food quantity was on the large side. Solid amount of rice and salad came with the entree. They did add a mandatory 20% gratuity but thats to be expected for a large party. Solid spot in Hollywood if I'm around.

No frills Thai place with friendly service and huge portions in my opinion. The spicy noodle had great flavor, nice char on the vegetables and succulent chicken. Definitely give them a try if you are in the area.

Came here for take-out. This Thai restaurant is kosher and vegetarian. The food is very good. It's in a mini-mall so parking is very easy. The menu is large and has pictures of each dish which is very helpful. I have to come back here and try more things. It was hard to pick what to get. Everything looked so good. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. We got sweet potato fries, dumplings, potato samosas, spring rolls, golden tofu, and chicken nuggets. Everything was delicious. The sweet potato fries were really good (not your typical Thai food but I still suggest ordering them). I also really loved the chicken nuggets and the dumplings. It's very fun to share a bunch of appetizers. Of note, is that the golden tofu is a much bigger sized appetizer than the others. For our main course we got the pad thai noodle, pineapple curry, and panang curry. I asked for my vegetables to be well-done and they delivered. Cooked to perfection. You can never go wrong with pad thai. We added vegan chicken. I enjoyed it very much. Of the three things we ordered that's the one I would order again and again. The pineapple curry was good but the sauce was thin. I prefer a thicker curry sauce so I will get something different next time. The panang curry was also good but we got it with brown rice and next time we will order the white rice instead because it's tastier that way. A couple things stood out here. One is that they got the order perfectly which is not always the case with to-go orders and something I really appreciate. Another was that the packaging of the to-go order was done really well so that everything stayed at a good temperature and did not spill out on the way home. Service was also very kind and helpful. The ambiance of this place is cute. It's a small place but spacious at the same time. It's surrouded by windows which makes it feel bigger. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great for date night or meeting up with your friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would suggest eating here rather than doing take-out since it's a nice place to eat and the food is excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean and pleasant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had to get home on this particular day. Otherwise I would definitely have stayed.

Way too spicy food that's going to end up in the trashcan

We ordered the food to not be spicy and it was too spicy for anybody to eat. We ordered delivery. The restaurant refused to do anything to help us with unless we return to the restaurant, and with two small kids I could not do that. Very disappointing.

Pumpkin Eggplant Lover with steamed tofu - phenomenal!

I was so thrilled to finally get to try this place. It is certified kosher (which was an essential for my friend) and vegan, which is why I wanted to go here in the first place. There were so many things on the menu that I really wanted to try and on this trip, was only able to try 2 items. I'd love to be able to try their Tom kha soup, curry, and mango sticky rice on a different trip. It's extremely expensive in my opinion for Thai food, especially when you're just getting vegetables and tofu but sheesh it was delicious. We tried the pumpkin, eggplant, tofu stirfry with steamed tofu ($23 or $24) and the pad Thai with fried tofu ($20). Both were great and my favorite part was the eggplant in the stirfry! So tender and perfect! The waitress was also very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend and I can't wait to try again.

I was very disappointed with the food here. I heard good things about this restaurant, but unfortunately, I won't be recommending this place to anyone. The food was 2/10. Refrain from tasting fresh and flavorful like it's supposed to. I've been to many (non-kosher) Thai cuisines, and there are better options if you eat at non-kosher restaurants. The service was okay, and the ambiance was nice, but the restaurant seemed cleaner. Easy free parking.

Came back for takeout a second time, and still really did not disappoint (though man inflation has hit prices hard, $55 for 3 items) What we got: pineapple fried rice, spicy noodles, and eggplant pumpkin lover - our favorite dish consistently is the eggplant pumpkin lover! - pineapple fried rice was the second choice and spicy noodles was just OK The blend of flavors is just superb, and what they use as meat substitutes is so flavorful- especially their "chicken" and how they deep fry the tofu! We got takeout again, but the restaurant itself looked like a casually cute, intimate vibe. Around 4 tables around 9pm on a Tuesday, so pretty good crowd! 100% would come back- so far our favorite is pumpkin eggplant lover and curry noodles!

Nua is tucked discreetly inside a hedge on a beautiful street, across from City Hall, in Beverly Hills. You need to know where it is or you might miss it. I found it by chance while looking for unusual brunch places and it was more than serendipity, it was Kismet. I wondered what Nua, the name, meant. It seems it is most appropriately translated as "authentic" or "fresh". That certainly fits our experience. It can also mean "flow" or "movement" and that also applied as the entire time we were there, a cool, soft breeze wafted around us from a combination of the fresh air flowing in from outside on a sunny temperate California day and the delicate waves emanating from the brilliant Vornados (the only kind of fans we have in our house!) positioned strategically around the room. Our first impression was: wow, beautiful place! The mid-century decor and fresh flowers, the vivid colors that were well coordinated to confer a cheerful atmosphere everywhere we looked, and the glowing light streaming in from the huge windows enveloped us in welcome. Our servers were exceptional. Rachel and Josh took care of us as if we were family. They checked on us at the right times and made sure we had everything we could have wanted, and so we did. The menu is a dream, even for vegetarians. We had a hard time choosing, so look at my pictures to see what we got. Everything was fresh, unique, tasty, and beautifully presented. There was 1950s and '60s music bathing us in a soft retro mood, and the dining room was intimate and elegant. Parking: it is hit and miss. Sometimes the nearest public garages are closed or full. I would use the valet for the hotel, right around the corner. It is reasonable and convenient. There has not been a more perfect setting for this one-of-a-kind experience. But, for us, it will not be a one-off. We plan to return and soon. Loved it so much!

What happened to Nua???…read more It used to be a hidden gem; a warm, welcoming restaurant with exceptional food, genuine family-like service, and generous, satisfying portions. All of that is gone. The food is unrecognizable. The Israeli breakfast looked like a sad box lunch. The shook salad was essentially a bowl of arugula with a few stray vegetables hiding somewhere inside. And the famous Hummus Masabaha, once a signature dish worth returning for, has been reduced to a small cup of garbanzo beans with a drizzle of olive oil and a single egg, at less than half the size it used to be. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone who remembers what it once was. Bring back the real Nua!

I would give it 4.9-5 stars. For morning/lunch food, there are only a few places around L.A. that are their equal. Attentive staff. Our waiter Alfonso could not have been more hospitable. Checked in on us several times despite Lamalo being (understandably) busy. Our food was top notch and hearty enough to take half for lunch a few hours later. When I inquired about dessert even though we were stuffed, it sounded too good to pass up. Comfortable, bright atmosphere with plenty of outside seating as well. Love the Pico vibe with a clear ethnic majority. People heavily engaged in conversation and great food/drink. Guessing that many locals make this place a daily/regular meeting choice. Food, service, atmosphere/vibe all great. Looks like it's a popular place so would suggest coming on the earlier or late side of typical eating hours. The portions are quite large so you can easily share a meal. The place is very clean and they also have a bakery section for takeout. The servers are always smiling and are great with kids. It is super family friendly. We love all their food, but a must have is their Matza Ball soup. It is perfection from the soup to the Matza Ball. You can get it in a cup or bowl. We have been here a few times over the years, sometimes for breakfast and other times for lunch. Their Shakshukah is a great way to start your morning. It is a wonderful breakfast item. It comes with eggs and salad with a great home made tomato sauce. They also have just eggs if you want. For lunch we love the Israeli Vegetables Salad, which has Finely cut assorted vegetables with lemon dressing, tomatoes and cucumber. It is the bomb. If you want to be daring, get their combination salad, which is a combination of all their salads. It is so good. Their Humus is great and has a wonderful lemon juice and olive oil. There is not one thing not to like here, so go and have fun and relax.

We were celebrating my wife's birthday. Six entrées, multiple appetizers, a table of four. The Vegetable Rolls came out first. Overcooked, hard, soaked in oil that had clearly seen better days. My wife took one bite. I took one bite. We asked politely to return them. The waitress made it immediately clear this was going to be a problem. It was downhill from there. For the rest of the meal, she barely came by. No water refills. No table clearing. Dessert arrived with no cutlery and we sat there five minutes waiting for someone to walk past. No apology, no acknowledgment. When the bill finally came, the rolls were still on it. I pointed it out to the waitress. She nodded and walked away, bill in hand, and did nothing. A few minutes later the owner appeared to collect payment, as if the conversation had never happened. When I brought it up, she informed us the rolls were cooked to perfection, that this is simply how they're made, and that we had eaten from them. Two bites. Between two people. She wouldn't let us get a word in. Our friends tried to reason with her, pointing out that we'd just had a nice meal and simply didn't enjoy one dish. She just kept going. We still left a generous tip. The customer isn't always right, but they're always worth treating with basic respect. We weren't trying to get something for nothing. We were exactly the kind of table every restaurant should want, and fifteen dollars worth of bad spring rolls turned us into people writing reviews instead of making reservations. It really didn't need to go this way.
