Meet the Business Owner: Cindy C.
Meet the Chef Cindy “Chef Cindy” Carter-Hodges is a proud Stockton
resident, born in Merced, California, and raised as a
military child who spent five years in England before
settling in Richmond, where she graduated from De Anza
High School. Her diverse upbringing exposed her to many
cultures and cuisines, inspiring a lifelong passion for bold
flavors rooted in Southern tradition.
Her culinary journey began in her family’s kitchen, where
generations passed down recipes, warmth, and storytelling
through food. As the former owner of a beloved food
truck, she spent three years serving thousands of
concertgoers at the Concord Pavilion, sharing authentic
Cajun, Creole, and Soul flavors with every plate.
As Executive Director and Chef of Feeding Opportunities
On Demand, she led efforts that provided over 30,000
home-cooked meals to families across Alameda and
Contra Costa Counties — proof of her belief that food
should nourish both body and soul.
