A convenient little diner/cafe in an area that desperately welcomes more food options!…read more I stopped for a quick lunch pick up. Easy to find and plenty of available parking out front. The menu is pretty large, but I'd say a lot of it is breakfast and they had finished serving breakfast at 11 am. I got the Chipotle Chicken Wrap which seemed like a new item, and a California Burger for David. Chipotle Chicken Wrap: Pretty standard and nothing incredibly mindblowing. The amount of jalapenos they put in there made it pretty spicy. Picked them out and gave it to David. I did like that they make it on a spinach wrap. California Burger: The patty was almost paper thin and definitely from frozen. It tasted fine and wasn't gross or anything, but not something I'd get again. Would be nice if both the burger and wrap came with a side to make it more of a meal tha just the sandwich alone. The service was quick and it seemed like the kitchen staff cooking behind the counter was efficient. I didn't wait long for my two items. Seemed like others eating at the cafe were regulars who may work in the area. Convenient for a quick lunch during break, I'd come back and try their other options or maybe that breakfast burrito which sounds like one of their most highlighted items.

We went during lunch - service is friendly. GRILLED TURKEY PASTRAMI SANDWICH - $14.99 Turkey pastrami, provolone cheese, grilled onions on sourdough bread. Served w/ pickle, chips, & dijon mustard. Meat was salty but tasty! Removed the cheese but didn't miss it at all - very good sandwich! VEGETABLE & BEEF SOUP - $6.50 cup Tomato soup w/ ground beef & lots of veggies - very sweet & good. CHICKEN SALAD MELT $14.50 My sister always orders this and loves it. Served w/ pickle & chips. If you don't want to stand in the long line for the fried chicken, this restaurant is a great option. FYI they're only open Thu/Fri/Sat.

So I told our waiter that i dont want any tomatos on my sub. Guess what! He brings my sub and says oh you said no tomatos? I said yeah. We will make you and new one. He then comes back and asks if it's OK if I pick it off? No thanks. They brought out a new one but no fresh fries. The sub was dreadful. It wasn't thiny sliced steak it was more like ground beef chopped up. There was some sauce mixed in with the mayo. Do not order the Philly cheese steaks. Just awful. Our waiters were never refilled. I think our waiter was absentminded. Not sure if I would want to eat here. However stopping at the Beilers donuts made things better.

We got 2 breakfast platters which have egg of your choice with meat (one had chorizo, the other had shredded beef), awesome dipping sauces, refried beans, generous portion of well-topped chilaquiles, and a slab of seared cheese. It was all terrific, very filling and a great value ($12/platter). The only negative was that it took 10-15 mins for our food to come out when there was no one else waiting for food. But, we had some time to kill and were not expecting much for a Mexican breakfast, so were pleasantly surprised and are planning to go back to check-out their dinner service.

This used to be one of my regular go-to spots, especially when I was craving a fresh veggie burrito, and this visit reminded me exactly why I loved it. I ordered my usual veggie burrito with extra cilantro, guacamole, white onions, and a little corn, and it was absolutely delicious. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and packed with quality ingredients. One thing I've always appreciated about this restaurant is the consistency. The ingredients are always fresh, the portions are generous, and you can tell everything is prepared with care. The customer service was just as memorable as the food. The staff was kind, courteous, and welcoming, making me feel like a valued customer from the moment I walked in. It's always nice when you return to a favorite restaurant after some time away and discover that the quality hasn't changed. This visit definitely reminded me why La Gula Mexicana became one of my favorite local spots, and I'll be adding it back into my regular rotation. Highlights: * Fresh, flavorful veggie burrito * High-quality, fresh ingredients * Delicious additions of cilantro, guacamole, white onions, and corn * Friendly and courteous staff * Consistently great food and service * One of my favorite local Mexican restaurants

La Poteria was the perfect midpoint to grab our morning caffeine fix and a bite to eat before we hit the Harpers Ferry hiking trails. The cafe was beautifully decorated with marble tables, a ton of plants, and plenty of couches and cozy armchairs. There was a ton of natural light from the giant windows, but they also had a number of aesthetic hanging lights, some of which were exposed bulbs and others of which were in little wicker baskets. As far as the food and drink goes, I loved their latte. The coffee was rich and not overly acidic, and it was strong enough that you could still appreciate the chocolatey, nutty undertones under the generous helping of steamed milk and foam. I also loved the little heart sprinkle they added in the center of the mug -- such a cute final touch! My friend and I also split two of their savory items, the cheese arepa and spinach and feta empanada. The empanada was a little different than what I was used to, as it was super flaky and buttery, with an almost croissant or puff pastry-like dough. It was delicious and the savory feta went wonderfully with the spinach and the slightly peppery mayo-based sauce they served it with. The arepa was also lovely, with a generous helping of gooey melted cheese on top of the slightly chewy, slightly sweet corn-based flatbread.
