Don't be thrown off by the strange spelling - Cheesess is a cheesecake café and a great place to go for an afternoon tea with a friend. The first thing you need to know about Cheesess is that it's tiny. Occupying a small corner of the sixth floor, there are a grand total of two - yes, two - tables, each with two chairs each. There's also a bar table with three or four stools (though I have never seen anybody sit there). So you need to try your luck with Cheesess; circle the floor a couple of times and you should be able to get a table.
Cheesess does great afternoon tea sets where you can get a drink and either a cake, cheese teacup or cheese cubes. The teacup is either blueberry or original cheesecake in a silicon cup, and the cheese cubes are cheesecakes in three small blocks. I've tried the berry cheesecake and both flavors of the tea cups.
The texture of cheesecakes at Cheesess is I would say different from most. It's extremely soft and creamy, and kind of melts in your mouth. It's definitely not the kind of cheesecake that's really heavy. The cheesecake here is kind of reminiscent of ice cream, actually, because it's so incredibly soft and light! I normally get a hot latte with my set and the latte is great as well. It's very smooth and not too bitter or milky. I adored the berry cheesecake - there was some blueberry jam in between the layers of the cake, and the 'berry-ness' of the cake didn't overpower the cheese. The base of the cake was my favorite part; very crunchy but yet still loose.
Overall, the cheesecakes here are really, really good but they are pricey. The tea set is $108 for two, and the portions aren't huge. You can buy a whole cake back, but even the smallest size (which is REALLY small) will set you back $138! read more
