I wanted to love this place, but thought that the execution of the Harry Potter theme, the space, and service was only OK.
My friend and I came here for a quick bite before our main event that evening. The cafe is located on the 4th floor of a building along a "gai see" (or street market). The cafe itself is small,. The space looks like they turned someone's home into a restaurant. The main area seats under 10 tables, to my recollection. There's a small room to the side that has 3 tables. There we sat, at a table for two.
We ordered a small meal - a drink, an appetizer and pasta to share. The server had tried to push the Christmas set menu on us, but we only wanted a smaller meal. The server seemed a little surprised. Oh well, we were sticking to our plan. The food came and I thought the food was pretty decent, and for a good price. I would say you get a pretty OK meal for what you pay for.
The Harry Potter theme was slightly underwhelming, though. The Harry Potter soundtrack is playing, there are wands and HP glasses for those who want to take photos, and there are some decorations all around the cafe to make it look like HP. But you can tell this is definitely not a legitimate Harry Potter cafe. Also note that reservations are required. No drop-ins.
Try it out, but don't have your expectations too high and I think you'll have a good time. read more
