For an appetizer, I ordered the satay chicken skewers. The chicken was very sour and adding the peanut sauce on top of it didn't make it better. It was a disappointment. For an entree, I ordered the spaghetti carbonara. The pasta was not creamy at all and the sauce was very watery. Another disappointment. What really ticked me off was that I didn't even get my entree yet and the waiter handed me the bill. I'm like, are you serious? I'm definitely not coming back here again.

The store is small but there are plenty of seatings in the common area outside the cafe (indoors). Soul Cafe offers breakfast and lunch. A lovely surprise to find perfectly done scramble egg here: tender, slightly runny and fluffy. A must for every visit. Benedict is excellent as well. Great value I also am totally in love with their coffee: rich, thick, aromatic and with little acid, it rivals many of the best coffee shops. Even though it does not have the best ambiance, the price is great and some days we come here just for the perfect cup of coffee.

Studio Caffeine is a great spot to get a well-made fry up/English breakfast in a few different…read morevarieties along with some strong espresso to wake yourself up. The restaurant is located right on Temple Street, easy to find. The inside is small, cozy, and clean, decorated in a rustic style with maybe 10 tables or so. When I arrived at about 10:30 AM on a Saturday there were several open tables, but by the time I left (a little after 11) the restaurant was full, so you may need to wait a bit if you arrive during rush times. The ordering process is order-at-the-counter style, with a staffer bringing your food and/or drinks when they're ready. Like many places in Hong Kong, Studio Caffeine does not seem to have drip coffee available, so if you're just a plain black coffee drinker like me, you'll have to be okay with an Americano or a shot of espresso. My Americano was pretty good, though not the best, but the prices here are extremely reasonable so no complaints. As mentioned, the English breakfast comes in a few different varieties. I went with the "Classic," which consists of scrambled eggs, baked beans, toast, bacon, pork sausage, and salad. Each item was very good (and again, excellent value for the price, though I would have liked to see maybe a little more protein and a little less lettuce) and I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. Overall, a fast and delicious experience at Studio Caffeine and I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a fast western-style breakfast in the area.

The pricing is on the high side but is in line with Hong Kong. I would expect to pay between 200-250 hkd per person. If ordering the more high end proteins then it will be more.

My SIL insisted I try the restaurant. So glad I did. Love the decor with such an Urban feel. Bikes, tires, and road signs. Clean and modern throughout. I was captivated by their desserts. From the syringe injecting into a Bloody Berry cake to these color dusted cakes with various flavors. Wow, can we say croissant galore. How can you turn down a chocolate dipped croissant or one that is something called creme brulee? Okay, onto their real food. The slow roasted chicken came highly recommended as was the fish and chips. I also wanted to try the gwei miu salmon with a watercress risotto. They also needed to add they garnish the salmon dish with baby arugula. Hello! No need to say more. Sold! The chicken was juicy (brinded almost), full of flavor. The fish and chips had an amazing color on the fry, awesome beer battered flavored, and chunks of fish with every bite. It was over like an olive tapinade tartar sauce, which I couldn't get enough of. The risotto was perfectly cooked, which is hard to do. It was loaded with butter and cheese. Aside from its green color, it was hard to tell it was watercress. The salmon was also perfectly cooked and juicy. My only regret was that I ate too much and didn't save room for their desserts. Next time, for sure. Definitely be back and will be taking the Hubs here when he returns.
