For my breakfast, I ordered an iced green tea and the Eggs, Chorizo, Avocado and Toast. The eggs were perfectly poached and matched well with the salty chorizo. The avocados were also a nice touch. As for the tea, although I was not wowed, the presentation was quite good. On my first trio here, I also had the fortune of trying the latte which was very good. I would definitely recommend this cafe for breakfast.

I loveeee avocados in all forms....in tortilla soup, fried, sliced in burgers, homemade guac dip, and straight from a raw cut half sprinkled with sea salt. Just throw them at my face. I'll eat it. So I loved the combination of avocado diced with almonds, alfalfa sprouts, thinly sliced radish, and whatever else magic was on there. All that covered over one piece of sliced bread. The other slice had a perfect poached egg. A bite of egg and a forkful of avocado mix was just scrumptious. I will have to recreate that at home. Iced soy vanilla latte was dynamite! I think it kept me up while adjusting to time change since it was day 2 of traveling. Lastly, had to go with a take away dessert. The buttery baked fig dessert was gone in 4 bites. It was a little on the dry side. But I saw potential in the making....beautiful piece of baked good.

Like many places in Hong Kong, Studio Caffeine does not seem to have drip coffee available, so if you're just a plain black coffee drinker like me, you'll have to be okay with an Americano or a shot of espresso. My Americano was pretty good, though not the best, but the prices here are extremely reasonable so no complaints. As mentioned, the English breakfast comes in a few different varieties. I went with the "Classic," which consists of scrambled eggs, baked beans, toast, bacon, pork sausage, and salad. Each item was very good (and again, excellent value for the price, though I would have liked to see maybe a little more protein and a little less lettuce) and I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. Well, just around the corner was another sit down restaurant, no reservations needed and we were lucky to get seated quickly. We had to wait about 30 min before afternoon tea so we started off with some delicious fruit mock tails . The afternoon tea (we went with dai pai dong) definitely hit the spot and we of course ordered the menu option with tons of delicious little bites. It's been almost 3 months now since I had it so I can't remember exactly what we ate but I remember there wasn't one thing I didn't like. I was impressed, then, that this outlet has a grab-and-go section stocked with pastries and sandwiches. We had just eaten lunch so I decided to go with a pastry. I got a Salted Caramel Tart and it was...just okay. It looks amazing and it's clearly been made with care, and yet in terms of flavor it's just nothing terribly special. The caramel taste is far too subdued to make any real impact, and the whole thing is sweet to the point of distraction. (It really lingered on my palate afterwards, to the point where I had to eat something salty just to get that cloying taste out of my mouth.) I have to assume Robuchon's savory options are much, much better than this.
