I found out about Pulpernickel from a Sassy HK article that recommended the food (the author said it was her favorite spot!), so I decided to check it out! They have good combos here where you can get an entree plus orange juice or milk. Their poached eggs are very good! Their salad is also ace. They use a delicious, tangy dressing - I wish I knew what it was! The restaurant is small (hello hk) but it was clean and bright with large windows. I love the convenience of this cafe. I lived nearby and it was the perfect spot for grabbing a healthy breakfast before starting my day. It was also a great place to unwind while using my laptop after a long day at work. I'm no longer in the area so I miss Pumpernickel a lot!!

As for the set lunch, most locations have the same items available, but with slight variations. E.g. one of my favorite options is the chicken burger, and here it comes with gouda and portobello on top, but not all locations serve it that way - they offer different toppings. The french fries are also great. Food is fresh and seasonably chosen in terms of what comes in daily soup/salad options. I definitely recommend this restaurant as a great lunch option for a working lunch or weekday shopping trip!

Since Taiwan is heavily influenced by Japan, this place also feels like the the resturant's you see in the side streets in Taipei where rent is cheaper and folks can have a place that only serve one thing (like chocolate or bubble tea) or have just 2 tables. That's the way if feels. Japanese version of western in Taipei.... not American.

Many students as it is near a few schools. Many people bring dogs and if you're a dog person and coffee person this is a great place to relax with a nice cup of coffee.
