For a tourist with a coffee addiction, this is the treasure of Sai Ying Pun. The cold brew comes from a London roaster, All Press, and is strong enough to cure jet lags. One bottle of cold brew has the same amount of caffeine as four shots of espresso! Located right outside the entrance of the A2 exit from the MTR station, this small little coffee spot comes with very helpful and friendly baristas that will make you the perfect coffee drink you want.

I was pleasantly surprised at the hipstery yet welcoming vibe of this place. The Art Deco marquis on the outside and the people here make for a welcoming environment--Tunny is the best and I have heard he makes a killer cocktail. I had an iced latte and a protein toast with peanut butter and banana a la Elvis. I would've sworn that the latte had sugar in it but it was the coffee-it had a great caramelly sweetness but was still strong enough to go up against my Monday morning (er, afternoon) weekend overhang. My only complaint is that it's not really a place one can get cozy. It's small and the only seating available are utilitarian back-obliterating wooden stools (ouch).

    Amazing place - come!

Awesome. Super small coffee shop with a surprisingly large selection and great baristas and coffee shop guys. This place will make expats and tourists feel at home, in a good way. We got: - Bacon egg sandwich. Perfect. Not too much bread, lovely egg - Their showcase apple almond tart. Loved that it was rich without being heavy, sweet without sugar - Gluten free coconut protein ball. Good, nothing stellar - Cold brew coffee. Awesome! Just a great experience. These guys have coffee shop operations down and an unique food selection. Would definitely make this my daily breakfast if I lived here!

A small coffee nook off the main roads (and happy that is the case). Keeps with the theme of a tranquil vibe that it oozes. Besides being greeted with some 70s and 80s music throwbacks once you step in, baristas were kind and knowledgeable of the desserts du jour and patient while I browsed through the selection and inquired about them all. A simple long black and a chocolate whiskey cake dipped in glitter was the perfect start to my day. Definitely coming back to try other specialty drinks!

Stopped by Winstons Coffee on my way to the subway station right next door. I was craving some cold brew coffee so I decided to stop here and rest; walking around HK all day is tiring. The cold brew here tasted bitter compared to other spots I've had. It's a small coffee shop so be prepared to stand or just enjoy your drink outside. I did want to do some work/research while I was here but their sitting area is limited and it's small enough for only a laptop. I didn't try the food here but maybe I'll try it next time I'm in HK visiting relatives.

Winstons definitely my most favourite coffee shop in Hong Kong. It's not just the coffee, but the whole vibe. That includes the atmosphere, seating and the views. I always feel that I'm abroad and no longer in Hong Kong whenever I step into this shop. Makes me reminisce my time living abroad. Reminded me of the chill time at many cafes that I enjoyed in the past in other countries. Nevertheless I guess I should talk a bit about their coffee. I tried affogato and flat white at Winstons coffee. Both are very decent. All comes with a piece of biscotti and tap water without asking. Staff are always nice and friendly.

I can die for their piccolo. The staff is just having fun here. So are their guests. No rules or make your own rules. Old school tapes for bills, no paper. Breathtaking pastry with seasonal twist, you don't realise you are in hk when you sip there!

Small and charming with a hipster vibe. It's a nice little piece of home that I found in HK during our trip.

Love how the HK scene has (finally!) exploded with good coffee. And this spot is on my top 3. Visiting from NYC I had a chance to finally try their hole in the wall spot in Sheung Wan, that I'd been following (aka Instagram stalking ha!) for a while. The flat whites are awesome (and so is the little biscotti that comes with it). Didn't have time to try much else but definitely on my to-return list for next time. Thanks guys!

Great neighbourhood coffee shop, the place is always packed during the weekend. The location is perfect right next to Sai Ying Pun MTR station. There is outdoor seating and also a water bowl for dogs, how thoughtful! The coffee is great, I always go for their flat white. Service is always friendly and efficient.

The broth for the hot noodles tasted great though : light, not overly seasoned, tasted like the kind of broth you'd make at home. My husband said the cold soba was nothing special. We then finished our meal off with the matcha jelly (flown in daily from Kyoto!), which was really good, definitely full of matcha flavor and went well with the ice cream and red bean paste. My husband gave the matcha ice cream two thumbs up. 90 min dining limit and everyone must order one item. No free wifi. HSBC credit card holders get a discount.

It's already a huge thing in Hong Kong, with at least one matcha dessert store at every mall. When I found out that a well known matcha chain, Nakamura Tokichi, was opening up its first branch in HK, I made it a point to plan to visit and give it a try. Unsurprisingly, as with all well known restaurants in Hong Kong, there was a fairly long wait even on a Wednesday. I had to wait almost two hours to get a table for six people. When we were finally seated, we were presented with complimentary green tea and a menu filled with delicious goodies. I tried the green tea almost immediately, and already I was floored. Most green tea tastes fairly bland and generic, but this green tea was incredibly rich and flavorful. As to be expected from a matcha restaurant with as prestigious a reputation as Nakamura Tokichi. We shared several matcha and hojicha parfaits, a hojicha ice cream, and I got the kyo no fukiyose, which contained several different things including chiffon cake, matcha ice cream, red bean, whipped cream, and mochi. The parfaits were incredibly rich and elegant. Cereal was added to the red bean and ice cream, and the flavors all blended together perfectly. The chiffon cake was sweet yet light. The red bean was a real delight, not too sweet, and balanced out the sweetness of the hojicha and matcha ice cream incredibly well. In just one experience, I can see why Nakamura Tokichi is one of the most well known matcha restaurants in Hong Kong. It lives up to its own hype in many ways.
