It was one of my mission to eat at Lady M on my most recent trip in Hong Kong. Yes, there are locations in Irvine and Beverly Hills in LA, but hey I hate LA traffic just as much as you. I went to the concierge at the Harbour City Mall TST for direction since it's a ginormous mall. But it was not hard to find in the middle of Level 2. We were fortunate there was no wait at the dine-in line on a Friday night about 9pm. The takeaway line was a different story though! We ordered the HK limited special Rose Flavored millie crepe cake and every bite just melts in my mouth. We also tried the Salted Caramel Flavored. Although a just a tad bitter on top it was still quite tasty. I also saw the dine-in line growing longer and longer as we're enjoying our slices. Yes, it's pricey at $75 HKD ($9.75 USD) a slice! But hey when you're on vacation you gotta live a little. We left Lady M with a big smile on our face. As I'm writing this, I'm told there's a pop up Lady M location at the Arcadia Santa Anita mall during the holiday season. I guess that's much closer to home!
Lady M, wherever I go it is what I wish for. Having had Lady M in multiple locations in NYC, I love getting to taste special edition cakes when I get the chance! I came for afternoon tea and did not get to try lunch here but my main event are the cakes anyway. While I usually do a-la-carte ordering, they had a two person special including four slices of cake and two teas. With this special, you are only limited to two mille crepes out of the four. We had chosen the green tea mille crepe, chocolate arc-en-ciel, gateau aux marrons, and the Hong Kong special edition rose mille crepe. The presntation of cakes and tea set were of same fashion from NY including the overall environment at its sit down locations. The green tea mille crepe is my favorite with layers and layers of thin crepes and a light matcha flavor. The chocolate arc-en-ciel was enamored by creamy semi dark chocolate and it's smoothness. I'm usually not a big chocolate cake fan but this made me change my mind. The gateau aux marrons was quite light and fluffy with a subtle taste of chestnuts. The rose mille crepe had an interesting rose jelly and rose petals atop the crepe cake, which I'd recommend to any one who admires florals and sweets. The tea we chose completed the experience by providing a balance between the richness, sweetness, and density of the cakes. This is a wonderful spot to bring a date or just enjoy tea time in midst of all the Causeway Bay hustle and bustle.
I had Lady M mille feuille cake when I travelled to NYC. As an avid dessert lover, I definitely would try Lady M at Hong Kong again. My friend pre-ordered a matcha mille feuille cake for me and no need for line up an hour to have a slice of crepe cake. After we got the cake, we took taxi and returned to hotel right the way (within 20 mins). Taste-wise, it's great and not sweet to Asian. Another 3 friends said, it certainly hype and really overpriced ($750 for 9"). May be.....
Amazing Bakery. My girlfriend is a lover of bakeries and desserts. We had seen people around Hong Kong with to go Lady M boxes and were delighted to find this place in the center of a mall. It is an interesting location, almost dead center in the middle of empty mall space that is walled off. It gives the vibe of a food court. That aside the cakes they have are all amazing. They have the exclusive Earl Grey Crepe Cake here. Otherwise the standard great Lady M cakes and crepes. We had the Earl Grey, Green Tea Macha, Carrot Short Cake and the standard cake, everything is tasted great. My favorite was the Earl Grey. Minus one star for limited seating and how crowded it is, we waited 45 minutes to be seated.
3.5/5 Lady M is a well-known American cake place, and they have branches in Hong Kong, including this one inside Harbour City. Shame they don't have a branch yet in Canada, but maybe in the future... Anyway, it's not hard to find where this place is. Look for a huge lineup somewhere in the mall; chances are they're lining up for Lady M! Even on a Friday afternoon, the waiting time to enter the shop was 90 minutes. Personally I wouldn't dine here next time if the waiting time was over an hour. I was a little disappointed that they ran out of mille crepes when I was there, since I knew it was their specialty. I decided to settle with their checkers cake, as well as an iced chocolate. Their checkers cake was essentially a chocolate cake, but decorated similar to a checkers board. It tasted quite good, although $58 was quite a hefty price to pay for something that's "quite good". The iced chocolate for $58 was also quite good, but again similar price, similar situation. I'll give the benefit of the doubt that their mille crepes are better tasting, hence why they're so popular. I'll probably give Lady M another try when I'm in NYC...once the Canadian dollar improves.
Made the mistake of ordering a green tea mille crepe when the HK exclusive is the earl grey flavor. Also made the mistake of thinking the HK location would be cheaper in comparison to the USA locations. Take a seat with the number they give you. Look at the menu and WALK UP TO THE COUNTER TO ORDER (we sat there like fools for a while waiting for a server but nope). Green tea mille crepe: So I thought, "Cake is cake. What's the hype?" and then I tried it. It's not dense at all because instead of typical cake sponge texture, it's alternating layers of thin crepe and cream. It's a light but filling dessert. Iced cafe latte: They give you extra sinple syrup and I suggest you add that in because it's yummy after.
It wasn't hard finding this Lady M in Hong Kong. Located in the middle of Level 2 in the mall, they have two lines. One for a sit/eat area, and one for take out. The line for the sit/eat area was a bit long when we went, so we decided to just take out since it was shorter. Process was quick, and we got our Earl Grey. They include a little packet of ice in the box, so you don't have to worry about the cake melting. Lady M is so over hyped sometimes, that I'm tired of it. The Earl Grey had a strong flavor, although a bit bitter. And like the Signature Mille Crepe, a bit too much cream for me. I do like the many layers of crepe of the cake, so I'll still buy them whenever I get a chance. However, the excitement I have for them has passed.
Really a 4.5! I've never been to Lady M in NYC so I can't compare... but the cakes are AMAZING in HK! After browsing at the cake selection, we ordered the Earl Grey Millie Crepe and the Red Velvet. The Earl Grey cake was SO DELICIOUS, with a strong tea taste but cloud soft layers! (I could have eaten another slice myself...) As for the red velvet, it tasted like a well made red velvet, plus the cream cheese filling was pretty good. If you're stuck WHAT cakes to get, always go for Lady M's Millie crepe cakes! I walked past Lady M on a weekend around tea time and the line was ridiculous - over an hour with nearly 40 people in line. However, I came back in a weekday around tea time and I got a table immediately. All in all, would I come back? ABSOLUTELY! I need to try all of their cakes... hehe
I have to give a five stars because my wife loved the dessert and drink that we ordered. Both had rose flavor and have very unique taste. It is inside the Harbour City mall and is very crowded. It's a good sign that what they have there are good. I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the desserts and drinks.
If you are ever in Harbour City mall I highly suggest making a visit to Lady M. You might be greeted with a long line but it's worth it - their cakes are truly phenomenal. We waited for about 15 minutes and were seated at a communal table with other customers. I ordered the earl grey Millie crepe and my mom got the Gateau aux Marrons, which is a chestnut cake. I've never had a Millie crepe cake like this before - it had a smooth and rich filling with perfect evenly stacked crepes. The earl grey flavour wasn't overwhelming and had the right amount of sweetness to it. The Gateau aux Marrons was also good but I thought it was a bit too rich for my taste. Service could be a bit more friendly but overall I would definitely come back.
Lady M is one of the best purveyors of Mille Crepe cake outside of Japan. I have not found anything comparable to Japan's Mille Crepe cake other than Lady M....and I have been aggressively searching for years. Lady M carries a wide variety of cakes and Mille Crepe cake flavors. (I remember several years ago when they only had 3 flavors and a short menu.) I would mostly suggest tasting the Signature flavor to get the best experience in Mille Crepe cake. Because this is a small shop, it is a bit difficult to sit at a table to eat, unless you do not mind waiting in line. Ordering take-out would be recommended, so you can eat your slice of heaven in a less crowded place, but finding a seat in the mall is a bit challenging. I would still recommend trying out this shop. Just don't eat it all in one bite!

I'd give Lady M a solid 4.5. Apparently, Lady M is from New York and it's been a popular trend for the local Hong Kong people - so much so, there ships have opened in different cities. I'm a local Bay Area native from San Jose, so suffice to say, I was really curious about Lady M when my HK cousin was raving all about it. Taste wise? The first half of the cake slice was very satisfying. However, it is a bit too rich for my taste and I find myself getting a little overwhelmed by the time I get to other half of the slice. This is the first time I've ever tried a crepe Mille cake, and I'm very interested in the concept. Lady M is definitely upper scale at about 9-10 USD per slice. My cousin and I ordered the earl gray while my mom ordered the original. I did love the ambiance and the simple, classy decor of the place as well as the bags/boxes. Hopefully, they'll bring a Lady M to the Bay Area! read more

Lady M is known for their Signature Mille Crepe Cakes. Originally coming from NYC, they offer some of the unique desserts in a variety of places. There is always a line so it is beneficial to go ahead of time. We got the Tiramisu and the Earl Grey mille crepe which were both mediocre. Considering the price a the long wait time, it was definitely just HYPE. We got the earl grey latte which was strong in flavour but I just wished the tiramisu mile crepe was less sweeter and more prominent in coffee flavour. read more

This is pure perfection! Loved the earl grey crepe cake and the earl grey latte. I am especially pleased since the staff was so friendly. This place must not be missed during any Hong Kong trip. read more

I remember I was really excited when Lady M first opened in Los Angeles. After trying their signature Original Mille Crêpes and the Green Tea Mille Crêpes, I didn't understand the hype about Lady M and why their cakes were so special. It wasn't until my friend introduced me to their Banana Mille Feuille that I actually started to appreciate Lady M. Needless to say, I was overjoyed when I found out they were going to open a branch in Hong Kong. Signature Mille Crêpes Their signature Mille Crêpes did not disappoint. The layers and layers goodness filled with thin slices of crêpes and soft, light cream is something that people in Hong Kong would like. Since the local tastes have gravitated towards desserts that are not as sweet and heavy, it's no surprise that you'll see people with Lady M takeaways throughout Tsim Sha Tsui and two long lines in front of their boutique in Harbour City (one for dine-in and one for buying takeaway). Green Tea Mille Crêpes I was really against ordering the Green Tea Mille Crêpes today because I thought it tasted more like almonds than green tea when I first had it in LA. It was a pleasant surprise when I took a bite and realized that it actually tasted like green tea. Banana Mille Feuille My personal favorite though, as mentioned, is the Banana Mille Feuille. It's hard to eat all the layers in one bite but if you do, you'll taste the layers of the flaky pastry, featherlight sponge cake and whipped cream and a touch of banana. Yea, it's amazing and there's a reason why I order this every time I go to Lady M. read more
