I came here for a corporate happy hour, and everyone had a great time! The options from the bar are endless, and they have a full stack. I ended up sticking with espresso martinis for the night, and they did not disappoint. I do wish that the bartenders were more friendly, they were not very warm which impacted my experience. Every time I went for a drink or request, the bartender seemed as if I was a burden. However, the remainder of the night was filled with fun - they have a huge section for shuffleboard ($16/hr during the week), ping pong, and pool. The games were so fun and there were plenty of tables for everyone. We did come during the week, so there was no wait for anything. The menu has several options, but we only stuck around for some fries during the happy hour. They were very good and crispy, and seemed to be enjoyed by most. Stopped in for some drinks after the Red Sox game, waited on the bar for 20 minutes and the bartender said they're no longer serving 45 minutes before they closed. I work at bars so I know the regulations for last call and there was never a notice given. Kind of annoying to wait in line outside for 10 minutes and then waited inside with 3 bartenders behind the bar that can't even acknowledge you but can pay attention to all the bar mats they have to clean up. Since it's in the Fenway area, if you go when the Red Sox are playing you won't find parking. If you go when they're not playing, parking is fairly easy. I went on a Thursday night, the dining area was mostly full but the game area was maybe 50% capacity. Also, it was mostly an early 20's crowd. I grabbed a Smoked Tomato & Cotija Flatbread and Wild Blueberry beer then sat in the lounge area (it can fit maybe 12 people total). The flatbread was solid and wild blueberry was sweet--it took time to get acquired to it, but I enjoyed it. She needs this is in order to fly home, but we are now scrambling to find a different way to verify her identity at the airport. The security guards at cheeky money said we would never be allowed in and said that fake ID's scan too without willing to double check. The security guards were yelling and argued with us but quieted down the second the police showed up and they gave it back after verifying that it was in fact real. I would never recommend this place for the way they treat their patrons. He was quick to provide samples to my girlfriend and prompt in delivering the tasty Down Undah pale ale. We were just about to leave when I saw one bar patron eating chips and queso and another drinking a beer with blueberries in it. At that, we decided to stay there for the remainder of our tailgate. Being from New Mexico and currently living in Texas, I am a specialist when it comes to chips and salsa. The queso verde was INCREDIBLE. The flavor and consistency of the queso was truly authentic, and the chips were the perfect thickness and crispness. I then tried the Wild Blueberry blueberry wheat. While I am not typically a wheat beer fan, I couldn't resist the floating berries. I must say, the blueberry flavor and hint of citrus flawlessly combined to balance out the wheat. On a recent Saturday night my ping-pong playing friend and I checked into Cheeky Monkey Brewing for the primary purpose of testing our skills. We put in our name at the game table which also featured billiards and a type of skeet ball. After less than 5 mins of waiting, our table was ready. Since we brought our own paddles, we only needed the classic orange ball. The orange actually helped it stand out in the dim bar lighting and as it occasionally rolled around on the floor between other ping-pong games and billiard participants. The table was in good shape with just a few beverage rings from prior players who used the table to rest their adult beverages. The only complaints were that the lights were too low and occasionally interfered with the flight of the ball (on legitimate volleys with top spin). The lights were higher than the billiard table lights, but still too low for ping-pong. The fee to play was more expensive than it should be, but with the rare amount of tables available in the area unless you book a probate suite at GameOn or a private room at Jillian's, it was worth it. We played for 3+ hours and the table was $50 covering our rental time. The other complaint was the wait staff. Grossly understaffed and not very attentive at all. In 3+ hours I was able to get the waiter in our area attention twice. And rest assured, I tipped him very well with our first order in an attempt to get his attention throughout the evening. On the second trip it took well over 30 mins to get a drink delivered. The bar was quite busy and it was too far away from the tables. So paying for the table while you wait in line is not a good financial decision either. What I will do next time is double order and set my expectations far lower on the service end. With better service alone, Cheeky Monkey would have earned 4 stars for bringing a unique game offering to the adult beverage arena. read more

We left the Landsdowne pub and after we were rejected by one of our favorite bars due to a private event - Looking at you Bleacher Bar, we ended up here. It's a Hard Rock Cafe impression of a brewery with mediocre beer and mediocre food. The Harambe's Ghost, while a great name for a beer, fell flat as a hop bomb that a double ipa should be. The deviled eggs sounded great but when we got them, were nothing out of the ordinary and had an odd texture, chewier than expected. The wings and the calamari weren't much better. The service was pretty good, but didn't make up for the other items or the ambiance as a whole. If you don't like craft beer and you're looking for fried food to shove in your face after drinking all day, this is your place.
