I came here with some friends on a Sunday for the drag show. Compared to other drag shows in Boston, Dani's does not require a cover fee. We arrived before they opened at 11 AM to make sure we got inside. Without reservations, we sat at the bar. This made it a bit difficult to see during the drag show itself but I did appreciate how the performers went up and down the aisle to get everyone involved. I got the chicken and waffles and a bloody mary. They did give a pretty good amount of chicken to go with the waffle and I really appreciated the cup of syrup plus the cup of hot sauce, making a perfect blend of savory and sweet. They also gave enough of the sauces to not leave the chicken and waffle dry, something that can happen often. The bloody mary was pretty average in taste without too many accoutrements. Overall I had a fun time at Dani's and I would definitely consider it again the next time I want to go to a drag brunch in Boston. read more

We ended up at Dani's late night after the Marcello Hernandez show at The Wilbur (which was amazing, by the way). We just wanted a quick drink and somewhere with a good vibe before calling it a night and this place delivered. They've got a jukebox, so the music was all over the place in the best way. A little dancing, a little singing out loud. It wasn't packed, but there were just enough people there to keep the energy fun and easy. The bartender was kind and super efficient, she was holding it down solo and doing it well. Drinks were solid, no complaints. The best part? At the end of the night we found out someone had taken care of our tab. Such a simple, unexpected gesture and it honestly put the biggest smile on our faces. We paid it forward and covered the next open tab. So thank you to the kind stranger who started that little chain reaction. Would definitely come back. I visited Dani's on a bustling Saturday night, and I had a great time. While I am a cis man, it's a relief to have a queer bar that's a bit more femme-centered. I felt it led to a more relaxed vibe and felt very welcome despite the obvious gender-leanings of the clientele. Every staff person here was kind and gracious, even the bouncers. I went up to the bar to order my food, and I got the veggie burger and a long distance to drink. The veggie burger was well cooked and seasoned, and the yucca fries I got with it were fantastic. The sauce that came alongside them was far superior to ketchup, and I would definitely order it again. The burger fell apart for me pretty quickly, but with silverware available it was no big deal. The drink was perfect - well balanced between sweet and bitter - a great complement to my meal. My only critique was the music. This bar, at least at 7:30, is not an incredibly dancy atmosphere, but the music was so loud I could barely hear the person across the table from me. A slight decrease in volume, for me, would have improved the ambiance and made it a bit easier to socialize. But I'll definitely be coming back! read more

We had a lovely time having a drink and some dinner at Dani's! We didn't go downstairs to the club but the bar upstairs had a really fun yet relaxed vibe and the cocktails were gorgeous! It was really wonderful to be in a space tailored for sapphics It was very busy as it was Saturday night yet we were still incredibly well taken care of especially by the wonderful Jasmine! Who knew a queer bar could have delicious hot dogs?? The atmosphere at Dani's is nice, geared toward a young, 20-something femme audience. Bar/restaurant on the upper floor, and bar/dance floor on the lower level. Cocktails, beers and food were fairly priced-shot prices were higher than I expected-however the service was good (upper level) when I ordered food and drinks. I asked for a custom shot, the bartender told me they didn't have the ingredients to make what I wanted but suggested an alternative which I did purchase and enjoyed. I appreciated the recommendation for something new. Dj for the dance floor was good, and the bouncer/door tender was considerate about letting us use the atm inside to get cash for the cover charge. The service here is actually abhorrent. We reserved on a Sunday and ended up waiting over 35!!! minutes to be served - AFTER getting seated. After waiting 35 minutes, we had to ask the server to come over take our order. The server, rather than apologize and show some decency, said they "assumed" that they had "already taken our order" without speaking to a single member of our party. And then tried to gaslight us by saying that none of us were at the table when they were there... To add insult to injury, during that prior visit where the server decided to ignore a table of young woc, my friend walked up to the bar to try to get our order in. The server came by, sat in my friends (obviously occupied) seat, took the order of the table next to us (seated 15 minutes after us), looked us dead in the eye and left and didn't return again for another 25 minutes where we flagged them down and had to ask to be served. I don't know how that could constitute "I thought I took your order" but I suppose it works in some distorted worldview of someone who shouldn't be in the service industry. Anyways this is absolutely a white woman's club so don't expect to be served if you don't meet that ideal. Overall just concerned about the waitstaff's conception of common decency and respect. According to their website and Instagram the cover for this event started at 10pm. We arrived at 9:30pm to grab dinner and a few drinks and the individual at the door insisted the cover began at 9:30pm. We mentioned we had seen their website and Instagram stating that the cover began at 10pm but they insisted that was not the truth. My friends and I are consistent customers, always paying the cover and spending extra on food and drinks but will not be returning after the utter rudeness of the individual at the door and their inability to honor their own social media posts of when the cover charge begins. read more

I'm never going to Dani's EVER again. Dani's tried to take my REAL ID from me and kept threatening that I was going to jail. I went with a friend on new years and when I arrived the bouncer scanned my ID once and said to me "This ID is fake so it's mine now." I am 24 years old and have used that same exact ID at Dani's (and elsewhere) countless times. Because I am from South Carolina and I have a SC ID, I sometimes run into issues in Mass. but I have NEVER had a bouncer attempt to take my real ID from me. I immediately started to tell them that it was in fact my real ID and I kept asking for it back saying that I didn't need to go inside. The bouncer then waved my ID in my face saying "It's fake, it's mine now." I panicked and reached out to grab my ID back and the bouncer immediately accused me of putting my hands on them. I admit that I shouldn't have reached for my ID but never at any point did I threaten to harm them with words or my actions. The bouncer brought out another security person who started shouting at me. While both of them are shouting at me at this point I kept asking for my ID back and I asked for them to scan it again. They said the only way I could get it back was if I called the police to which I told them that I really didn't want to call the police on a lesbian bar. After they made it clear that they would not try to scan my ID again or give it back I had to call the police. While I waited for them to arrive, both Dani's bouncer and security person kept telling me that I was going to go to jail once the police scanned my ID and "realized it was fake." The police arrived, scanned my ID, told me it WAS real and handed it back to me. After the whole ordeal and being treated so terribly, I went back up to the security and bouncer and told them my ID was real and asked to speak to their manager. I spoke to the manager who did not admit a mistake or apologize but just said "this has never happened before." I asked if they could at least apologize or admit they had made a mistake and the manager just shook their head at me and continued to repeat that they had never had this happen before. I told them I have been to this bar many times with the same ID and asked again why they couldn't at least admit that they messed up but the manager clearly did not care to listen or take me seriously. I will NEVER be going back and I highly do not recommend that anyone else goes anymore. If their ID scanner can make a mistake without Dani's being capable of taking responsibility for the mistake, then they should not be conducting business. I have never been disregarded and threatened and treated SO terribly by a bar staff, and I cannot begin to express how painful it was to experience this from a LESBIAN bar that I previously adored and frequented. I cannot imagine how Dani's treats others, especially racial minority groups, based on the horrendous treatment I received as a white femme lesbian. Stop going to Dani's!!! read more

Great to have a queer bar in Boston. Everyone was extremely welcoming. Food was an added bonus and the drinks were great. We'll be back.

Surprisingly rude staff member who was collecting cover payments-- basically barked at my friends and me to get in line for their indoor ATM and continued being rude to us when we couldn't find it. Bogus that they accept cards for drinks but then make the cover cash only and corral patrons into an ATM line to even be able to go inside. Dani's, you're not the Taj Mahal, and if you'd like to retain patrons I'd suggest swapping your cover collector for someone who has minimal customer service skills. Other than that, it's a bar in Boston. You can get a 12 dollar vodka soda anywhere else downtown and have the same experience. read more

My friend had been multiple times and always had a great time, so she invited me to go. The wait for a drink was long, but I assumed it was because they were busy. But the bartender with the nose chain repeatedly ignored us, sometimes to serve people who had arrived at the bar after us. We watched her be perfectly friendly to other customers, yet she was cold and blatantly rude to me and my friend. We wondered if we had done something wrong, but then I saw other reviews complaining about the quality of service/rudeness of the bartenders. I was so excited to be in a space designed for queer woman and I was extremely disappointed, as the bartender makes you feel incredibly unwelcome to the extent that it ruins the mood. I will go back, because with other bartenders my friend has had lots of fun there, but that one particular bartender makes for a terrible experience. read more

Went here when I was visiting Boston the other weekend . I had seen that a new place was taking over Pourhouse (RIP) on Facebook and had no idea it was gonna be open when I was visiting. I popped in with a friend and it was during the day so it was kinda dead but it had a nice vibe to it. The bartender was super nice but the drinks had way too much ice in them. The food menu looked decent but didn't order off of it. Would definitely return next time I'm in town to see what the night life is like there. read more

I was excited to try this bar but unfortunately was disappointed. We went on a Saturday and waited in line for 30 minutes. However once we got in, there was another big long line (30 minutes) to get into the basement. The lights were very bright and not bar/club vibes, the photobooth was broken, and the vibes overall were not it. It kills the mood to have to wait in a secondary line for the basement with the lights all the way up. Bummer. read more
