We love a good comedy show! There was quite the lineup of comedians coming to town -- as seen on the screen that was flipping through upcoming acts before the openers took the stage. Since there was an earlier show before ours, that meant the two shows were back to back, and we had to first wait for the earlier show to get out. That pushed us back about 40 minutes. The line in the lobby was a wooooorm. Once finally seated, there were 3 openers! All hilarious and entertaining, but that meant the main act didn't even come on until 11:45pm for a 10pm show. I've been here twice, for national acts. Both times the sound system made 50% of the content inaudible. The only time everything was clear was when the comedian inadvertently did not use the mike. The sound with the microphone was booming breathy and distorted. This is not a huge venue. Making everything audible should be easy. The first time we attended I simply attributed it to a bad night. Went to 90's drag today and it was a complete let down. The queens were desperate for tips without actually doing anything. They barely knew the words to nearly every song which made their lip synching feel like you were watching a horrible 70's dubbed movie. The host kept saying how nervous she was throughout the show - the whole vibe was just awkward. The ticket came with a "VIP" cocktail however the woman passing them out didn't know what was in them and other cocktails were also watered down. Let's start with the Comedy, Tickle me Tuesdays the comedians (Coco Brown & Friend) was great. A lot of the menu items were unavailable, not good since we skipped going to MJ O'Conner next door. We thought why not wait and eat at the show. WRONG It was the worst service I've had all year (It's Just January) After being told I could order on my phone only to find out that system wasn't working that night. Once the waitress took my order who very VERY unfamiliar with the menu. She returned with chicken tenders cause they didn't have Wings and was like oh well. You have to pay and tip upfront The Manager finally came over and said it's the waitress 2nd night....‍‍‍Nice spot for comedy. It is in a stellar location. I love the venue. It is also very near great restaurants which is a plus. The establishment is clean and beautiful. It's located in the Westin Hotel in the Seaport. As a venue, its great. Parking is a block away, the stage and seating is great for the type of venue they are. Went for a drag brunch, and the drinks were good, not great. The drag production company? studio? they hosted were amazing, and it was a great show. The menu is limited, and when we went 2/4 of the brunch options were not available. The options were cheap, and the plates were probably microwaved, so I suggest eating beforehand. Pretty good venue, pretty mediocre bar/kitchen. Dont go for brunch, go for comedy/a show. read more

Yes, Laugh Boston! This is one of my favorite comedy venue for gatherings or date night. It's located in Seaport and is a walkable distance to Fort Port where some of the well-liked restaurants and bars are. Tickets are reasonably priced ($25 for most) and the line moves fast to get in. Once in the venue, there's no assigned seating, unless they are reserved for a party over 10, so if you want to sit closer to the stage you have to get there early otherwise, it's a free-for-all. Recently I came to see Andrew Santino and Bryan Callen, both so humorous and the crowd was astounding in a very intimate likeminded setting. Love it. The Heckler Bowl- If you're the type who likes to buy multiple drinks at venues knowing they cost an arm and a leg, go with a bowl since it's like having almost 3 drinks for the price of 2. This bowl lasts throughout the night and was really strong for those who could handle their liquor. This one in particular did not taste good but my companion enjoyed it. I'll stick to wine thank you very much. Overall Service: The folks at the entrance were cheerful, and the staff inside tended to everyone swiftly as people were getting settled in. There was one obnoxiously drunk lady during one of the shows which the bouncer here escorted her out seamlessly without interruptions. Awesome in my book. read more

A few weeks ago my wife had tickets for an event at Laugh Boston, and I went with her. I regret that I did. Laugh Boston requires male patrons, and seemingly only male patrons, to submit to a manual frisking to enter. As a person that does not like being touched by strangers, this was deeply upsetting. As I waited in line to enter, I saw every male being frisked, with the women being let by with a simple bag inspection. I was not comfortable being touched, and when the security personnel asked me to be frisked I asked why. They did not respond and proceeded to pat me down without consent. I felt angry, upset, and violated. There was no warning about this policy beforehand. In 2023 it is not typical to require a pat down to enter event venues, nearly every venue in Boston has wands and/or magnetometers. I did not expect this, was not comfortable with it, and post this as advice to others that do not enjoy being touched by strangers that you should avoid Laugh Boston until they change this primitive and sexist policy. As a result of being surprised and upset, I did not enjoy the show I attended. read more

Went to laugh Boston to see Onefunnylisamarie on 3/11/2023 @4 pm very organized, with timely seating with large group , wait staff was great food and drinks were great , staff and management were very professional, Onefunnylisamarie was outstanding, and the opening act was funny as well, not sure if he was a local comedian. The venue was nice as well. A little hiccup in the show and Lisa Marie handled it great and added it in her comical show just help all the unexpected event , my score for the whole night is definitely a 10 out 10 hope they have Onefunnylisamarie back for another show . read more

We very much enjoyed seeing Don McMilan last night at Laugh Boston. We had VIP seats, which meant we were in the front half of the venue and had a table to set drinks and food on. The food menu looked pretty sketchy so we ate before the show. The beer selection was decent and the service was quite good. Don was really funny, especially for us engineers in the audience. One thing I would change - you can park in the garage under the venue (part of the Westin Hotel). You can get your parking ticket validated at Laugh Boston. HOWEVER, once your ticket is validated it no longer works at the exit of the garage. Fortunately for us there was a parking attendant who took my ticket and credit card, ran upstairs, and paid for the parking ($16 if validated) then returned with the same parking ticket (which now worked) and my credit card and receipt. Whoever set up this system was not thinking correctly - validation should just give you a discount and the payment process should be the same as an unvalidated ticket - put the ticket in the card reader at the exit, and then pay with your credit card. The waitress who validated the ticket did not explain their process at all, and it is pretty confusing. read more

Ok so to be clear, the comedy was GREAT. All of the performers were hilarious and they were a lot of fun (when we weren't being disrupted). This rating is 1000% on the venue. There were no available seats (got there 30 min before the show), so they "made" space available behind a pillar where you couldn't see the stage. Awful. Took 20 minutes into the show for a waiter to come over, and not joking, another 50 minutes to get our BUD LIGHTS (he got the order wrong twice, not hard to get bud lights?). Other groups didn't ever even get their first round. We got our warm beers 20 minutes before the show was over, but he suddenly became real efficient when it came to us paying the check. To round it out, the wait staff was completely clueless, they were loud and overly talkative with the customers, disrupting the show. Also, people were just chatting freely throughout the show and no one at the venue asked them to keep it down. Maybe I'm just used to the professional environment of places like the Comedy Cellar in NYC, but this was absolutely terribly managed and this completely ruins the experience. read more

Once you walk in, you are greater with a bar. a LITTLE bit over priced. So here's the thing...I've been here twice and both times, the beginning interactions between myself and the front desk were horrible and soured the entire experience. The first time, I came from the gym and the guy literally took out my sweaty gym clothes to make sure that I wasn't bringing in any contraband. Super invasive and just weird. They apparently patted down my husband "worse than the TSA" (I wasn't there when he arrived). The second time, we had leftovers from the restaurant down the block and they forced me to leave my food outside. The woman taking our tickets didn't even look at me when she was like "it's policy. No food in there." And then she said it three more times, like I didn't hear her the first time (all while not looking at me). So beware-don't bring a bag. Don't bring a coat. Don't come from work. Don't bring leftover food. Just don't come. I'm going to Off Cabot in Beverly (accessible by commuter rail) for the same comics, cheaper, and super laid back-100x better. read more

WARNING- SUNDAY ESCAPE IS NOT A COMEDY SHOW. My friend and I were highly misinformed. My friend and I bought tickets to "Sunday Escape" on February 19, 2023. When we bought the tickets we were under the impression that it would be a comedy show. This impression was continued as when we received our tickets there was a time that was labeled as "show". Additionally, the day of the event we received an email telling us that doors opened an hour before the SHOW. This was extremely misleading, as the only part that ever said that it was a club style event was the very small print on the ticket purchasing website. We showed up an hour early to grab a good spot, and was told to come back at 10, which we found odd since the email had said so come an hour before. We did not know that is was a club style event until doors opened & we walked in. All in all, my friend and I were very disappointed with our experience. And we think that it was a little much to ask people to pay $25 for a club event that was not very entertaining what so ever. That is high for a cover charge. We ended up leaving less than 30 mins in after paying $36 for two shots. read more

I went to laugh Boston for a 90's drag brunch. Now granted we arrived late...There was no brunch. Poor advertising!The venue was overcrowded making it hard to see the show. Dancers did minimal entertainment but expected generous tips. I've been to several drag shows where the entertainment was A+. 1/2 way through the show the owner of the entertainment company presented some sort of slide show asking for donations for substance abuse, talk about a buzz kill! I'm all for helping the community in anyway possible but there's a time and place... read more

Management (or at least I'm assuming she's the manager) is great. The bar staff, especially the girl with the reddish hair color and Siofra were great. The woman at the front was very polite and friendly as were most of the guys walking around with the black "staff" tshirts on. If I were rating just the venue and waitstaff it would have been 5 stars.. I was there for the entire weekend of shows with one of the headliners.. The last night, which happened to be New Year's Eve, security disrupted me 2-3xs as I walked out the venue to conduct phone calls he tried to be overly flirtatious with me while walking towards me as I tried to walk out. During the last show of the evening he came up behind me twice whispering instead of just allowing me to enjoy the performance. At one point during the evening I was walking towards the green room past him and another staff member when he asked "are you a comedian or a comedian's girlfriend?" To which the other staff member replied "I don't know but she's been a distraction all night" Upon trying to leave the club after the show was over and the staff was doing clean up/shut down procedures I was once again on a call walking out of the venue which was attached to the hotel we stayed at, the security guard was at the door in his coat, hat & gloves, seemingly already off work. Once again he's speaking to me while I'm on a call and reaches to grab my hand and proceeds to place a small piece of paper with his phone number and name "Anthony" written on it. He made the evening uncomfortable. It seemed like he was waiting for me to leave. I don't believe he would have handed me his number if the comedian I was with was standing there. He didn't speak to me anytime either comedian was nearby. I chose not to raise concern about the issue that evening because as stated above I was with the performers and did not want to draw attention away from the night's purpose. read more

I was staying at the Westin Boston Seaport Hotel on a work trip. My sister came to visit me one night and we had already been out all night, dining, shopping, and having cocktails in the North End. We ended up getting back to the hotel around 9:45pm and we discovered a line of people outside of Laugh Boston. We had to check on the scene and see what it was all about. Apparently there is a show happening at 10 PM and the opener had already started. We love comedy and my sister used to perform at the Comedy Store and Laugh Factory in West Hollywood. We asked how much it cost and I believe it was $39 per person. We had to go back up to the hotel room and drop off our shopping bags and leftover food anyway. We had about five minutes to decide if we wanted to jump on the bandwagon or not. Although I had an early flight the next morning, we thought "when in Rome." It's not every day that you have a comedy venue attached to your hotel. We went back and the people working at the ticket booth were super nice and friendly. We were able to pay the $39 each and then they escorted us to a table in the back. The place was completely full. When they told us there were only a few seats left I thought that was a bargaining tool but they were correct, there was barely a seat left in the house. We sat down at a table with a few girls who had been there already. Our cocktail server came over to us and took our order. She was super nice as well. We ordered a few drinks and settled in. We were a little bit late to watch the opener but he was hilarious. I didn't catch his name and tried to find it online but couldn't. The headliner was Will Noonan. I had never heard of him but during the five minute debate upstairs in the hotel room, my sister and I watched a clip on YouTube and he was funny. I thought both the opener and Will Noonan were hilarious and very different ways. Being from the Boston area, my sister and I really dug the Beantown inspired comedy. It really resonated with the crowd. Not sure how it would play anywhere else but both artists really knew their audience. There was a lot of audience interaction which surprised me. Especially during the headliner's spot with the table directly in front of him. My sis and I could not see the table or understand what was so funny so that part was lost on us. The venue is all one level with no raised seating so it is pretty tough to see the full stage from the back. Worth getting there early for. Although we were only there for a little over an hour, all together. We had an incredible time.i Very memorable. I like the venue and want to go back and get good seats next time. They also serve food. I now am on their email/newsletter and look forward to returning the next time I'm in town. This way we can plan it a little bit better. Complete incompetence. Ordered tickets in advance and there are no seats available. Waited 15 minutes for a hostess to seat us who never showed up to seat us. The manager told us to find seats by ourselves and we could not sit as a group. The place smelled like a cold dick fried turkey piece of shit. They were too busy pumping out shitty food & drinks to care about the people who paid for actual tickets to the show. The supposed manager was nothing but a giant bitch. She was not equipped to handle the drive through at a McDonalds. She Refused to identify herself or provide a business card. She Also threatened to call the police because we would not leave without a refund despite the fact that they said they did not have to provide one even though they sold tickets in excess of the available seating. The absolute worst kind of comedy club. It's IN the Westin, to start. 16 people on the floor and it still takes half an hour to get a drink. I'm not kidding. Very much a corporate comedy club atmosphere - lots of "obstructed view" seats and huge glaring TVs EVERYWHERE broadcasting what's on stage right in front of you for no reason (I counted 14 in my field of view). Last place like this I had the misfortune to visit was in a mall in CT. Horrendous crowd. Embarrassing. The kind of screeching drunk townie morons who insist on letting you know that it's THEIR Fri night, even if it's no one else's. Disruptive, disrespectful, and of course the house did nothing at all. The opener was already struggling with them 10 min into the show. Speaking of the bookings, I guess they at least know their audience because it was a whole show of un-ironic "amIright" comedians in 2019. Ugh. Headliner did nothing but 45 min of basic ass front row crowd work that amounted to little more than saying one dude looked kinda gay (which apparently qualifies as a joke in this townie time warp hellscape) and then riffed endlessly on THAT to try to embarrass him in front of his friends for his whole stage time....? That's not a headliner. That's a feature at the Comedy Pouch in Possum Ridge, Arkansas. In 1992. At best. Getting really tired of this kind of garbage taking over the west end. Of a piece with Banners, City Winery, Big Night Live, etc. Places that impress out of town rural in-laws, or Mass folks that come in from far enough out that culture is 20 years behind. Laugh Boston sure did make me laugh. I went from giggling to full out hysterically laughing. On a warm Saturday night in August, my coworker and I stumbled in to watch High Hamlet for $10.50. It was so much fun! The food was also pretty good! My friend and I had a Sunset Bowl for $35. It was good, but not $35 worth. The Queso fries though...those were something else. That was phenomenal, honestly. They were absolutely delicious, and we had to cut ourselves off for our waistlines. It was crisp, cheesy, and gooey goodness. I also think High Hamlet was just overall an amazing show. The improv cracked me up, and now I'm inspired to try to do some myself. I wish the drinks were cheaper, but overall, it was an awesome time. I think the late night grub for sure helped. read more

Nice venue. What I would expect from classy downtown Boston. Only downside was the venue clearly is not setup with enough air conditioning given the size of the crowds. I was sweating for half the show. This is a known issue because I read it in other reviews from years ago and I also spotted several fans and a water table setup inside. Will likely come again, but next time I will make sure to dress appropriately and get there before hand to get a good seat. read more

The Moth hosted a storytelling event here and I really liked the venue. It's a bit out of the way. Walking here from Chinatown took about 25 minutes. It would be a nice walk on a nice day but in the winter it can be unpleasant. There's really no good public transportation options here. Parking is not bad later in the evening. The venue is new and large. There were no drink minimums and they had carafes of self-serving water, which was awesome. That's much appreciated. I'd definitely check out another show here sometime. read more

Lizzo Drag Brunch. We had high hopes, but were very disappointed: The Queens barely performed before they rushed into the audience to collect tips. They said this was being interactive, but seemed like a money grab with very little performing to validate the tips. You have to wonder if the $35+ that the hundreds of women there paid is reaching the performers at all. The manager who has been "organizing drag shows for 10 years!" got super defensive and said "well, you can leave" when we asked if that was it - awesome customer service. He said that it was NOT a comedy show either - don't expect anything funny, that's not what a drag show is supposed to be. The two of us and the other two people sharing our table have been to many drag shows and enjoyed witty emcees and actual performances. We followed his advice and left early. I don't get why comedy clubs seem to be a dying breed. I remember at the turn of the millennium.....we would hit up a comedy places in the theatre district and then other nights we would go see national acts in Faneuil Hall. Apparently, those are all closed so what we are left with are extensions in swanky hotels on the waterfront. The tickets were offered up to me by a promoter for free so I've got to admit, we may have not visited (nor did I even know this location) without getting those, so kudos to them for bringing me through the door. Now that I know it is here though, I'm pretty sure we will be back since I saw the list of upcoming acts and we are excited about one of them along with "Dirty Disney" nights they hold on occasion. The club was clean, the staff was really nice and I like how you can even get food service at your table/high top. The bar drinks prior to the show were a borderline disaster though. It was a busy night and the poor guy was ALONE, so they clearly weren't staffed well. It took us over 20 minutes to get our one round of drinks and I may have had more if it wasn't for how long we waited. It was also so noisy that he didn't hear the order right from me and we ended up getting the wrong item which I walked all the way back out to my date at our table she was holding, only to find out it wasn't it and needing to take it back for a new one. They were priced about what I'd expect from a comedy spot, $17 for one mixed drink and a beer before tip. The talent was all local that night and about a 7/10 in terms of funny. No, they weren't Chris Rock or George Carlin funny......but the laughs were there most of the time. They got progressively better and I understand why the last guy who went on was the headliner. The management is doing a great job at booking talent. Pro tip - don't park at the hotel itself. If it's a good weather night and you go to a later show (we were at the 10 PM one), there will be plenty of meters in the area that are free that time of night, vs the $25 or so you'd pay in the hotel with no means for validation. read more

I am so disappointed at the service here. We walked in with pre booked tickets and hosts were completely lost and could not even find us a seat. Waitstaff was not equipped to go around to all tables. After 1 1/2 hrs waiting I walked to the bar to learn they were backed up and could not handle all of the requests I was asked to wait in the table. Waited for another 30 min and walked back to the bar to find they were still struggling. And I said- Can we at least have water? So the host was annoyed brought a carafe if water. The show ended 15 min later. If you know you have. A full house, prepare for it! For the price range, and location of this spot I would have expected nothing but the best. Just OK.... I have been to many comedy shows, my wife and I love them. But for a Saturday night in Boston, the comedians were WOOF! There was a forgettable opening act which unfortunately, was better than the main event! I honestly forget both of the performers names they were so mediocre. I have been to basement clubs in a shady part of NYC that had better entertainment than here... my guess is this place will be closed down within the next year or so. It was a Saturday night and the place was empty. 2 stars because of the wait staff, drinks were fast and they were really good at navigating in the dark. Drank more than I wanted to help try and make the show somewhat enjoyable. This place has nothing on Giggles in Saugus. We have been there many times and it blows this place out of the water. It is worth the trip north if you are staying in Boston. The food is much better as well! Won't be coming back to this place... :( read more

Went here for the comedy show (shit-faced Shakespeare) for a girlfriends birthday. There is plenty of seating but Seating is first come first served so if you want to sit in front and your with a big group of people, come early or at least on time. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Parking is really difficult around the area. There is meter parking but limited. Soooo... If you don't mind being volunteered to be apart of the show or if you don't mind getting picked on during the show, then sit up front. Butttt if your shy and just want to be a spectator sit in the back row(3rd row). You can drink and order food before and during the show but we rarely saw our waitress during the show when we wanted refills on drinks. So try to order everything before the show. I liked the show but really in the beginning I did not know what they were saying- too much Shakespeare for me, but not really complaining about it. I have watched the movie so I knew what was going on but I'm not sure if my fellow girls did. So just be aware if your unfamiliar with Shakespeare literature, but it was entertaining in a rated pg13 way that it could be funny to a person not familiar with the storyline. read more

Overall, we had a decent time at Laugh Boston. The show started on time. We bought tix via Groupon - so I'm sure that played a factor on the seating options. The back seating layout is horrible. The seats are not staggered. You will have a hard time viewing the stage because the person sitting in front of you basically blocks your view.
