Think about what that means for a minute... you'd be better off eating from the open air salad bar located in one of the busiest airports in the world. I must say I'm amazed that this place has such low reviews. Maybe people have experience at some of the other locations and are comparing. Personally, this is the only location I've been to for Cheeburger Cheeburger and it's haunted me ever since (in a good way)! They have a really cool ordering system by touch screen where you just go up and put exactly what you want. I think I put feta cheese on mine (not an option at too many other burger joints). Anyway, I'm not lying when I say that it is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. How pathetic is it that the best food I had in NY was in the airport on the way home? Oh well. Worst burger I've ever had. This terminal at JFK for jet blue sucks. Nothing I would eat here anymore. Went from wanting shake shack to never wanting a burger again. I am not a religious man at all and never feel the need to have a spiritual scratch to take care of my existential black hole of on itch. In the name of efficiency (I guess) I ordered the burger from not a "cheeburger cheeburger" shouting server but from a kiosk. Thankfully I was ahead of one of my sisters and ordered for me and the kids and then showed her how to hit the buttons to order the meal (maybe we would have missed out next flight if she had been the first to order, who knows). I said "BurgerMeNow" into the computer but didn't even get a "does. not. compute." let alone any sass-mouth. I quickly got over the ordering procedure when I took a bite of this burger. I went to one of their regular locations in Long Island a while back and don't remember the food being bad, but the food I got at this one was awful. One of the driest and most flavorless burgers I've ever had. I paid extra for mushrooms and they were rock solid...I couldn't even bite into them and had to take them off. The burger and fries were room temp, and the fries were very soggy and tasted like they'd been sitting around all day. The food is awesome for an airport(and decent for otherwise) but the service is pretty miserable. So disappointed!!! Ate here yesterday while waiting for our flight to Reno. We ordered 1 semi serious burger and 1 regular burger, an order of onion rings and a sprite. It only took about 5 mins for our order to be ready. When we picked it up, we were told (by a girl that clearly hated her job) that they were out of onion rings and gave us COLD fries instead (no offer for a refund) at this point we were tired and hungry and just took them. When we opened them, we had two dry cold burgers that looked like they had been sitting for a while. Never, and i mean NEVER had we had such a tasteless cold blah burger. While there are many high quality options for dining in Terminal 5 (http://www.yelp.com/biz/terminal-5-at-jfk-jamaica), I decided to get a Grilled Chicken Sandwich for my flight (the Terra Blues onboard won't fill me up enough) from here as based on other experiences at Cheeburger Cheeburger here and at other Cheeburgers, I find that this is a tried and true option for me due to the very good food and decent pricing. When I flew out about a week ago in the morning, I arrived at the counter at about 8:30AM. I was greeted by two friendly ladies, who were happy to help me in the clean kitchen. I first used the kiosk to place my order for a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with most of the vegetable toppings and mustard. Unfortunately, there was no option for ordering the sandwich without a bun, but by using the order number from my receipt, the two ladies taking care of my order were able to take my request for no bun, which worked out perfectly. About ten minutes later, my sandwich was prepared and when I had it on my flight to Orlando a little later, I found the sandwich to be very good, as the grilled chicken breast was moist, juicy, and well seasoned and the vegetable toppings were all fresh and crisp, adding a lighter element to the sandwich. While the $9.25 price for the sandwich seems high, it was not that bad considering I was in the airport and the quality and relatively generous portion size justified the price. While I did not try these items on this visit, I can say that based on other visits to Cheeburger, I would recommend the crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside hand-cut fries and/or the thick and creamy milkshakes. I should also note that compared to a standalone Cheeburger Cheeburger, the menu is a little more limited. In addition, you pay at the end of the food court area in one spot, so you should be prepared for that. While there are many very good to excellent choices in Terminal 5, Cheeburger Cheeburger is a solid choice if you have a hankering for burgers and the like! read more
