Oh man, how I love Cheddar's. Of all the generic chain restaurants, this one is my favorite. The food is amazingly cheap, delicious, and they give you enough for two meals -- thus making it even more affordable. Plus the interior of the restaurant looks a little upscale to me and there's no tacky decor which is a nice change. My favorite thing on Cheddar's menu is the Dijon Chicken and Mushrooms. It's two grilled chicken breasts covered in a tangy and sweet dijon mustard sauce on a bed of seasoned rice with a serving of sauteed mushrooms. AND then it comes with two more sides. That alone is enough to fill you up and then some, but you get even more! Always get a salad as a side because then you get a delicious and warm, honey-butter croissant. This place has everything required for a satisfying meal. All the food here is just so flavorful! It seems like there is much attention to detail in their recipes. Even things like the french fries have a surprising burst of flavor. The service was very quick and polite. Prices are very reasonable for this sort of restaurant. Appetizers and soup are below 5 bucks. Most entrees are below 9. I tend to walk out of Cheddar's feeling astonished that I paid such prices. Bottom-line is that this is one of the most enjoyable experiences for dining that I've found in a long time. I'd recommend it to anyone. read more

We came in at 10:35pm on a Friday night, it took a while for the two of us to get seated, maybe 10-15 minutes. We were seated at a dirty table, I asked for napkins because the chairs were covered in wet food. I thought he may actually clean the chairs, but nope, napkins eventually plopped down for us to clean the table and seats ourselves. We opened our menus and was told that the kitchen closes in 15 minutes. 2 minutes or less the waiter came back for our order while we were still looking at the menu. We left at that point, realizing that the service could only get worse. No mention from the hostess that they were about to close the kitchen while we waited for 15 minutes for a dirty table. I've eaten here several times. Nice ambiance. Relaxed. Great prices. Food is all good. I tried the ribs last night. Can't say I liked them. Very dry. But the sirloin I got with it was like eating a filet. Very good. Mashed potatoes good. I've eaten salmon and that was a good dish. Burgers are outstanding. I think they have some of the best burgers around. Good drink prices from the bar and very good service. Yesterday they got swamped with a very large party just before us. Definitely recommend the lemon peppered chicken! They serve you a good amount of food, that is beautiful seasoned. The mash potatoes are marvelous, and their Mac and cheese is so bomb. But for once there were multiple large parties on a weeknight. (It was 04/10) The manager on duty, who I wish I could remember her name, (she has reddish hair and was wearing teal eyeshadow that matched her shirt) was so nice and accommodating. We were able to work out a seating arrangement to fit my family and I'm very grateful for her ability to problem solve on her feet. But the bread must have slid as they took it off the grill. Because the piece on the bottom was completely off to one side. Basically to the point where I was picking up a cheese side and. We decided to go to Cheddar's to have a nice, relaxing lunch....our experience today was anything BUT relaxing. Not once but 3 separate times-the fire alarm went off!! We were sitting right by an alarm with our 7 month old baby girl. I was freaking out about the alarm hurting her ears each time it went off. Our waiter told us it was a false alarm and that it happens all the time but he never apologized about the inconvenience. It was treated as if was no big deal? This was my first time at cheddars and I really liked the place. Me and my boyfriend were on a time crunch due to a flight so I was worried we wouldn't get seated right away. We waited only about 5-10 minutes and ordered the chicken pot pie, loaded potato soup, and salad. The service was good even though the place was so packed. Went with friends who enjoy Cheddars especially for their famous cocktail called the Painkiller. The establishment is clean and the staff is well trained and friendly. One of us had a rib steak which he claimed was very good. Another of us had a vegetable plate which consists of for sides and a bowl of soup. She said all was very good except for two of the sides which arrived cold. Our server replaced the cold food with fresh new dishes instead of reheating themno had the chicken Caesar pasta salad which was really very good. Fresh greens, freshly shaved parmesan, a grilled chicken breast, croutons and a great dressing. All in all a very pleasant experience. read more

I really liked this restaurant. We went on a Sunday at noon. When we arrived we were seated right away and our waiter attended to us right away. He was friendly and attentive. in driving home with our dog, we went to web site and ordered carryout off the web menu.Then on getting home discovered each of three entrees cost us MORE than web site menu. I called manager Steven, he had no explanation other than that has been "policy" to up-charge by 12% for 8 years. There is NO GOOD REASON to charge more for carry out, after all we leave them better ability to use a table, they provided food only in Styrofoam, no plastic cutlery or condiment or napkins etc, if anything carryout should be LESS cost. Keep in mind if we ate in and had leftovers to go we would of got the same Styrofoam containers. read more

We normally love Cheddars! And maybe we just hit a bad night. Went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was odd that the hostess asked if we wanted a booth in the bar. It wasn't too crowded and it seemed odd since it wasn't too crowded, but we were fine with it. She said we could go ahead in a and find one. We walked into the bar and there weren't any. Came back out and waited for her to look up. We told her there weren't any and she asked if we wanted one "out here". Seemed a bit obvious that we did, since we never asked To go into the bar area, but, ok..we said "yes,please" . We were lead to a back booth and when we sat down the seats were so soft the table was chest-high. We moved to a nearby booth, as there were several to pick from. Service was "off". Had to ask for our water after 15 min. because it was forgotten. Never offered a refill. & Had to ask for a straw. Fried onion rings Appetizer was delicious and huge. I ordered the blackened salmon salad for my entree. It too was delicious. However, my husband ordered the BEEF SHORT RIB POT ROAST special. He rarely complains, but the meat looked terribly dry (and was very dry). I noticed my husband wasn't really eating much of the mashed potatoes either, so I asked if they were good. Again, he rarely says anything negative, so when he said no, they taste weird. I tasted them and could hardly swallow them! It tasted like spoonful of really old, used grease. This location was good on Tuesday when we came around the time and sat at the bar where the awesome African American bartender made our drinks and we were feeling them. Today, Thursday we came order drinks and here is were the trouble started. We ordered 3 drinks while sitting the bar area. The first drink came while the rest of us waited on for our drinks. One drink came to the table wrong, got sent back followed by the second drink coming back with the wrong topping. Meanwhile my friend was at the bar looking for her drink and it was not in the line up. John the manger came and was assisting the situations , after serval sips of my drink and my friend drinking hers we realized there was no alcohol in either drink. The food was great, my steak was cooked exactly as requested. Our server Dominique ( I apologize if I misspelled it) was awesome he gets 5 stars from me! He was attentive without hovering. He made stops after we got our food to check that everything was good. The couple of things I had forgotten to ask for he brought quickly so I could begin eating. He checked on as he passed us from another table and noticed little things. One of my pet peeves is my tea has run out and having to stop eating to try to catch my server as they buzz by several times and won't look my way. Let me start off and say the inside is very nice but, the handicap parking is on the other side of the Resturaunt while regular parking is up front near the door and for my handicapped Mother is was a chire to even get in. They have a door in the back we could use but also it had a sign saying "do not use due to weather" what? The queso and chips were bland tasting amd the meat inside the cheese was just as bad but their salsa was good. The jalepeno burger I ordered Med Rare was more medium while the bottom of the bun seemed to be soaked in what I hope wasn't grease and the fries were room temperature when arriving. Went here with my family to celebrate a new job. The service was awesome! Fantastic server and it surprised me. I am a manager at a restaurant so I appreciate good service. I had the chicken fried steak. It wasn't special but I enjoyed it. My husband had a grilled chicken dish with shrimp. I had a bite and the chicken was weird.. like it wasn't really chicken. Rubbery texture. Not like it was over cooked but almost like it wasn't 100% chicken. My daughter had the junior burger. Same problem. Just not right. I probably won't go back. My spouse and I went to this restaurant after we read the reviews on yelp. We wanted to see how it was compared to the comments posted. Regarding first impressions: The waterfall was very pretty and the landscape was well kept. We enjoyed the aquarium and the interior decorations. We started having doubts when the seating hostess was lacking in hospitality and certainly didn't make us feel welcome. She did at least say goodbye, but not at all as if she meant it; extremely passively. Regarding food: My spouse had the country fried steak with carrots and rice. Carrots were a little hard, but he prefers soft. The rice was good. The country fried steak, on the other hand, was a bit disappointing. It was "big," due to all the batter used. I tried to take a bite, but I didn't taste any meat. The batter itself was lightly seasoned but seemed to be a bit buttered. I had the steak & rib combo with green beans and a loaded potato. I requested medium well and the result was cooked well done, overly seasoned, and dry. The ribs were much better off. The hickory was not overly sweet and the meat came off the bone fairly easily. The green beans were okay, but the potato was disappointing. Though had lots of toppings, it was tough and not opened wide so the toppings were eaten before I got to most of the potato. Both plates were served in a timely manner and looked well presented. It was also reasonably priced, Regarding service: Our waiter, though polite, seemed to rush us. Looking around, they were not exceedingly busy (plenty of empty tables and no diners outside). I joined table a little later but waiter never checked what I wanted to drink. We were planning on getting desserts, but I didn't get the impression I would be permitted to sit and enjoy those, just as I wasn't permitted to take my time with menu or food. Been going here for quite a long time and the service keeps going downhill every year. I just got threw eating dinner with my wife and 5 year old and I left very dissatisfied. Food was mediocre quality, waiter was a ghost once we got our food, lots of dirty tables that where neglected the whole time we were there and the wait staff seemed to be have some kind of party in the back because of all the yelling and whoop noises coming from the kitchen. Came to eat during dinner time on a Saturday. Got sat in a decent amount of time, booth was great and comfortable to fit everyone. Food was excellent (Key West Chicken & Shrimp with pineapple pico is AMAZING) and came out pretty quickly for how busy it was. After having a terrible experience with the 'frozen' chicken fried steak and my just 'eh' chicken sandwich, we thought we would get it another try since we really don't have a ton to choose from having little kiddos. Took forever to get our drink order, we asked for napkins for the sprite that my toddler knocked over, which he forgot. Granted, it is not his fault she wanted to put her fingers into the styrofoam and make a sprite fountain but after neglecting the napkins, we asked a second time and we got a "I'm sorry, I thought I brought you some!" OK, benefit of the doubt... It's sad when you look at the menu and 1st: nothing appeals to you and 2nd: you think to yourself, what can they NOT screw up?! Ok, so we ordered the Chicken Salad and Chicken Strip and Shrimp dinner. You can't screw up simple fried food... We were right, it didn't taste bad, but nothing spectacular (you get what you pay for). The worst part about this visit was the waiter. It was busy but not too busy for the other waiters/waitresses to please their customers. I took the kids out to the car to wait for my hubby to pay since they were getting cranky. He came out 30 minutes later saying that after he asked for two to-go boxes, he got one, and waited for another one after being told "oh, I thought I brought you one" again and then after getting the bill, he had to track the waiter down to get a pen to sign the bill!
