If you were a feathered fowl in Valdosta, GA tonight you had to be a bit nervous. My buffalo chicken wrap was huge, cut into quarters and packed with chicken, coleslaw & pickles. This Ft. Meyers Cheddars is extremely busy. We always get here before 5 and still only get seated immediately occasionally. But, it is worth it. I have yet to get a bad meal here. My only complaint is that my phone does not get network connection when I am in the restaurant so getting Yelp is nearly impossible. I do have one more "irritation". Just when I settle on one meal as my favorite they change the menu and I must start over - poor me. read more

Treated myself to lunch here today. The service was great. The waitress I had was new, but she was really attentive and sweet. In looking over their menu I immediately noticed there were not many options for a vegan. They do have vegetarian options though. In the end I managed to create a veggie plate that was pretty good. This restaurant has the worst service that I have ever seen. We were going to have a family dinner after our mother's funeral. They got upset because we told them they brought the wrong food to the table. They got up and slammed the food on the table and walked off. The manager told us that we can order anything and it will be free. I paid for my food and then left because when you make people upset you wouldn't get the proper service. They would spit in your food or do something else to it. So I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

We ate at Cheddars for the first time today and I am sure that it will not be our last. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing and the staff was professional and attentive. We started out with two appetizers - cheese sticks and onion rings. The cheese sticks were food but the onion rings were great. The remoulade sauce was just right with the ideal amount of kick. My wife ordered the shrimp and they were fried to perfection. I had the vegetable plate with house salad. The red beans and rice was very good and the broccoli cheese casserole was fantastic. The edamame beans were the low point....pretty bland and not shelled as mature edamame beans should be. Overall, the experience and food were both very good and the prices were extremely reasonable. Just the sort of neighborhood grill experience that the chain was intending to deliver. I would highly recommend Cheddar's. read more

The portion/dollar ratio was phenomenal. We started with the spinach dip which was very tasty. I had the chicken tender plate. I think there were about 8 big chicken tenders on my plate and it was only 9 dollars! My mother had bourbon glaze salmon with a loaded baked potato. She really enjoyed it. Visited on a Friday night. Our server, Zoie was very attentive to us and quick to deliver our drinks and food. She checked on us regular to insure our food was satisfactory and it was very good. Been to this Cheddar's quite a few times over the past few years staying in the Hampton Inn right beside it. I'd say I have good service and am happy with what I've got 60% of the time. Other times it just feels like there is an 8 year old back there making the food. I usually get salads as well?? haha whatev, I don't really care honestly. This time I went with the blacked redfish with crab sauce. I'd say I definitely enjoyed it. The sauce was pretty rich, but very tasty to say the least. There is usually a hottie or two to check when walking in if you're in to that kind of thing. I keep planning on killing some apps at the bar and stumbling back to the Hampton, that sounds fun. We went to get takeout last night and it was a terrible experience. First of all it took about an hour to get our meal. The manager was aware and even went to the kitchen to help so we were told. When it finally arrived I counted the containers in the bag and we left. When we got back to our hotel we were missing our salad, Cole slaw and French fries. I called the restaurant and asked for the manager but I was told he was in the kitchen and would return our call. i then asked to speak to the bartender as she had been our server. She was very kind and apologized. We never heard from the manager. The food we did get was just okay, ribs, coconut shrimp and croissants. They gave us 3 containers of croissants. Asked her how the coleslaw was, and she brought a sample. It was ok... the side salad I ordered in place was great! Best salad I have had in a long time. The mashed potatoes were good, and the ribs, came in 2 sections, top section was pretty dry, but the bottom portion was much much better. Too bad I was too full to finish the good ones. We put our name in at the hostess stand and we were told 20 minutes for the wait. 30 minutes later we checked in at the hostess stand only to find out the hostess hadn't written our name down and they had skipped us for quite some time. We were finally seated but no server came to our table. Another 20 minutes went by. I finally stopped a server walking by our table and asked if someone was assigned to our table. The service was great, the drinks were strong, and the food filled me up and made my heart smile. I was addicted to the queso from the first bite. Some of my favorite dishes are the New Orleans pasta, sans shrimp because I'm allergic, the honey croissants, the apple pie a la mode, the potato soup, broccoli and cheese casserole, and of course the queso. The happy hour specials were a really great deal. I believe the appetizers were $3.50 as well as a few specialty margaritas. In fact all the prices are very reasonable. My Keylime chicken and shrimp shown in the picture was only $8.99. My honey's tilapia dinner was also only $8.99. Our dinner arrived in a reasonable time, it was very hot and everything was cooked perfectly. The red beans and rice are to die for.. Everyone I've ever met rants and raves about Cheddars, and to some degree, they're right. The place is louder than holy hell. The service is decent, and the food is above average. The portions are insanely American (which to me is a good thing!). They have a wide variety on their menu.
