Extremely disappointed with this order... I ordered a two-person meal and somehow nearly every item was wrong. The first steak was ordered medium, but what arrived looked more like a hockey puck. It was severely overcooked, dry, and even burnt on the outside. There was no pink left at all, definitely not being prepared to the requested temperature. The fried shrimp was even more confusing. Instead of being crispy and crunchy, it was soggy, wet, and falling apart. The breading had absorbed moisture and lost all texture, making it completely unappetizing. Fried shrimp should not feel soft and mushy. (The included picture was *after* I drained out the liquid from the to-go box.) The only part of the meal that was remotely enjoyable was the croissants, and even those were disappointing. They arrived cold and hard with very little honey butter on them. Anyone who has eaten at Cheddar's knows the honey butter is one of the best parts, so seeing barely any on them made it feel like an afterthought. To make matters worse, I paid extra for honey mustard and never received it at all. When you're already paying additional charges for sauces and add-ons, it's frustrating to open the bag and find that they were completely forgotten. For the amount of money spent, this meal was nowhere near the quality I expected. The majority of the meal was inedible. One steak was severely overcooked, the other streak was over peppered and both that steak and the shrimp were soggy, and the chicken was also not enjoyable. Aside from sampling a few bites, the majority of the meal remains uneaten because it did not meet reasonable expectations for the items ordered. An overcooked steak, a soggy steak, soggy shrimp, cold rolls with barely any honey butter on them, and missing sauces that I paid extra for made this feel like a complete waste of money. I was looking forward to dinner and ended up still hungry and also frustrated instead. I was also really looking forward to the broccoli and carrots, but those were also inedible due to all of the moisture collecting as pools of liquid in the to-go box. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst takeout experiences I've had from Cheddar's. I would appreciate a refund or store credit, as the food received was not representative of the meal that was ordered or paid for. read more

First, let me start off by saying...AMAZING cocktails after a long day of traveling! I had their classic margarita and it was fabulous! You also must try the spinach dip as an appetizer...so creamy and full of flavor. There's not a time that I have hit Cheddar's and not gotten this must-have starter! For an entree I had the bourbon glazed salmon with grilled shrimp, carrots, broccoli, and rice. Our server was attentive and friendly. She brought our food to the table with a smile and in a timely manner. A lot of bang-for-your buck at this restaurant. It has a casual ambiance with a relaxed vibe. Food was absolutely disgusting; I actually threw up when we arrived back at our Hotel. Ordered the "Trio Sampler" to share with my wife. Fries were cold with some sort of hot cheese poured on top of them. "Cheese Bites" were greasy like they had been sitting around and reheated, the spinach dip was the only thing that tasted great but the bowl full of chips and pieces of Tortias you could not even use to scoop like they came out of the bottom of a bag! The "Double Fried Chicken" we shared, In pics below! YUCK! That is what I think literally made me vomit when we got back to our Hotel. One bite, gravy was cold, Mashed potatoes were hard in a lump, gravy on chicken was cold and salty, like ridiculously salty and the chicken was the exact same way! Oh it was hot, so was the plate it was on from being MICROWAVED and one bite was absolutely disgusting! Our server did ok, not very personable, Xaviah S., but very attentive. She ask us if we wanted a box for our leftovers, we said just for the trio, you can take the chicken and mashed potatoes back to the kitchen, so she did. The entrees were very tasty, however the honey drizzled croissants were under baked, and the salt shakers (2), on the table, were not only caked up with damp salt, the caps were rusty upon opening the shaker to inspect contents. The salt inside was also brown, dirty, damp. I sent back the croissants, informing our server of the quality. I took photos of the gross salt dispenser. Manager was not available. Never again. It was a Monday night, about two hours prior to closing. The bar had 5-7 people enjoying drinks and watching the football game. The hostess sat us in the bar area, next to a family dining in pajamas with fuzzy slippers and two toddlers and an infant. I knew it was going to go downhill from there. We were absolutely FREEZING. My teeth were chattering and my nine and 16-year-old were literally shaking. We asked the waitress if we could move, she consulted with the hostess and they said the entire restaurant would be freezing, no matter where we sat, because the AC had recently been fixed and "they fixed it too good." We should have just left, but it was late and I had a long day at work. Completely out of the restaurants control, but the family with all of the kids were SO loud. I'm all about enjoying a night out with the family, but the cackling and the hollering and then the toddlers and infant screaming randomly and crying the entire time off and on was just too much. The teenagers they had with them were running around the bar area in pajamas. Wonderful. Cheddar's provides you with three complimentary croissants. We ordered three more and our six croissants came to the table ice cold with barely any of the glaze everyone loves so much. We ordered the spinach dip appetizer. It took about twenty minutes to come to the table, also ICE COLD. So gross. The chips were unusually thick and STALE. At this point I was kicking myself for not leaving the minute we were told we had to endure ice cold AC blowing on us for our entire visit. Our food came just a couple of minutes after our appetizer, surprise... not really. My chicken tenders were okay, kind of rubbery. My fries were, as almost everything was, COLD. They were also stale tasting, as if they either sat out way too long, not under a heat lamp, or they had been made WAY earlier and not even reheated. The mayonnaise in the coleslaw tasted funny, either rancid or it was Miracle Whip. I hated my meal. Period. My sixteen-year-old ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and fries. All of it was ice cold. She will eat just about anything and she couldn't eat it. We asked for a box for hers. She said she would heat it up at home and add hot sauce and it seemed they didn't even coat the chicken tenders in Buffalo sauce judging for the two bites she took. My 9-year-old ordered a grilled cheese and corn on the cob. She ate it and had no complaints. The ONLY good part of our experience on this night was that our waitress was super friendly and kept the refills coming on our drinks. We will not be back, there are too many options in the area to ever endure ice cold, unseasoned food and to have to shiver while trying to eat the edible parts. read more

I really want to give them more stars but I can't fabricate the Luke warm experience. I walked in 10 minutes after they opened and was greeted by a dirty bar (the seats, bar top and floor), and not just a little messy but crumbs and food debris all over the place. I had to wipe my chair and the countertop down. Clearly they didn't close the way the were supposed to and that's sad. The bartender was running behind setting up but I understand that things happen in real life. I ordered the Texas Margarita with the strawberry swirl frozen, The Maui Margarita (which was my favorite for the flavor alone), the buffalo shrimp appetizer (sauce on the side) and the kids chicken tenders meal. The drinks were the highlight of my experience and the shrimp was good as well, but the chicken tenders (which is sadly supposed to be the star of their menu) were so salty that I couldn't even eat them and if I would've tasted them there I would've sent them back and talked to the manager. I will say that I love their prices (way cheaper than I thought it would be). I would definitely come back for the drinks alone but I probably wouldn't order food. read more

Cheddars is Cheddars no matter where you go. Our favorite Cheddars in Tucson is the same as our Lexington KY & Bloomington, IN ones and just like here. All of them are great! My favorite Cornmeal White Fish Platter was excellent as always. The Red Beans & Rice side was perfect as always. She got her usual Bourbon Glazed Grilled Salmon with a Loaded Baked Potato and the Red Beans & Rice. It was so good she ate too much. The girls ordered the Chicken Tenders and Fries. They both finished half an adult sized portion and were well satisfied. The restrooms were very clean and pleasant smelling as usual. I can only review about the chocolate cake. I had a sweet tooth, and I didn't want to drive to the store from my hotel. Cheddars was a short walk away from my hotel, so I ordered a chocolate cake from there. What I got was way more than I anticipated. The cake had whip cream, caramel, and chocolate plus additional chocolate and caramel to go on two cups of ice cream. This was a lot of cake for me, and way too sweet. I reviewed this cheddars almost a year ago and nothing has changed. We had Brittany for our waitress and she was great, kind, attentive, and genuine. I like being sat at a table since we need a high chair. I've been specific about wanting a table yet the hostesses here love seating their booths for some reason (especially when I have my 90 year old grandpa with me). Kitchen is always SLOW and it's guaranteed they'll mess up your order. Manger was promised an appearance tonight and didn't show up. The place is also always dirty. Food and garbage litter the floor and the bathrooms are too gross to want to touch anything. If you're a new customer or a cheddars fan I wouldn't waste your time. You'll leave disappointed every time. I recommend getting it Togo and eating in the comfort of your home. And definitely check your order before you go. Sorry cheddars. I don't usually leave reviews, but my experience at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen was so shockingly bad that I felt compelled to say something. From the moment I walked in, I noticed how dirty everything was. The floors looked like they hadn't been mopped in days sticky, stained, and littered with scraps of food. The hostess stand was chaotic and unprofessional, and the staff acted like they couldn't care less that customers were waiting or confused about where to go. The entire restaurant had a stale, greasy smell that was genuinely nauseating. When we were finally seated, the table was still wet with whatever half-hearted wipe down had been done before us. The menus were filthy and sticky to the touch. The server looked disinterested, barely spoke, and never once made eye contact. It felt like we were bothering them just by being there. The food was, quite honestly, disgusting. I ordered a simple meal chicken tenders with fries and a side salad and it was almost inedible. The tenders were greasy, overcooked on the outside and somehow cold and rubbery on the inside. The fries were soggy and flavorless. The side salad was brown, wilted, and had clearly been sitting out too long. Nothing tasted fresh. My friend's burger was raw in the center, and the bun was soaked with grease. No one finished their meal, and we all left feeling sick. As for cleanliness the staff looked disheveled and unhygienic. I watched one server wipe their nose with their hand, then continue handling food and plates without washing. Another one was chewing gum with their mouth open while delivering drinks. It was seriously disgusting. The bathroom was even worse. Overflowing trash cans, dirty sinks, no soap, and a stench that hit you like a wall. It was honestly one of the most unsanitary public restrooms I've ever been in. Cheddar's should be ashamed of the standards they're operating under. Between the filthy environment, the awful food, and the apathetic staff, this was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We were traveling and after finally arriving at our motel didn't want to get back in the car so we walked over. They brought tasty hot rolls right away. Our drinks were good. I am staying at the Hampton Inn that is close enough to this restaurant to walk to easily. I decided to eat supper here and have a couple of drinks because it's close and I can walk back to the hotel after drinking instead of driving. I was alone and I walked in behind a couple. The hostess sat the couple normally and then tried to get me to sit at the bar. When I asked to be seated at a table instead she went in back somewhere and I assume she was asking if I could be seated at a table instead of the bar. This made me feel like a second class customer before I was even seated. I was seated and my waiter got me my drink. Then he disappeared much longer than he should have before taking my order. The only positive part of my experience was the waiter was polite and he apologized for making me wait too long. I ordered a cheeseburger and asked for it well done. The cheeseburger came out and the fries were stale, the bun wasn't toasted, and the cheeseburger was pink in the middle. I pushed it aside and waited...and waited, and waited some more for my waiter to come out so I could get a well done cheeseburger. After a few minutes I played with the computer that they have on the table and found the "call server" button. I pressed it and 3 minutes later I got tired of waiting so I left my food on the table, got up, and walked out the door. When I walked out the door there were two employees at the front. Neither one of them asked me how everything was, thanked me for my business, or even said goodbye to me. I went somewhere else for supper where the employees did their jobs, made me feel welcome, and cooked my food properly. I would strongly suggest skipping this place. The cornmeal fried "whitefish" is catfish. You just can't disguise that old muddy bottom musky taste. And the waiter told me it was Cod which I'm sure he was told it was. I know my fish. I also know some seafood distributors tell their restaurant customers to list several Asian farmed fish (basa, swai, etc.) as other premium fish. I've ordered grouper and been served one of these bottom feeders more than a couple of times. The chains seem to be the worst offenders. May be served this trash fish again in the future, but it won't be here. In defense of the management; they don't print the menus or place the bulk orders so they most likely don't know what's being mislabeled. My family and I decided to eat at Cheddar's tonight after having not eaten there in quite some time. We have normally had very positive experiences there but tonight completely changed our minds- this place needs to be shut down immediately. We were seated and not greeted for 15+ minutes. Our waiter was apologetic and said he would attend to us more "swiftly" from then on. This was the first of a lot of apologies. Since we had ample enough time to look at the menu, we ordered drinks, appetizers, and meals all in one. He wasn't writing anything down but fiddling with the small table game computer that doubles as a food selection and bill pay device, so we were a little hesitant about the results of this visit pretty early on. Our appetizer came out but we had no drinks. My child's meal came out, and still no drinks. We finally got his attention and asked about drinks and he brought mine and my husband's drinks but not my child's. My drink was wrong, he kept bringing me Dr. Pepper and I had asked for Coca-Cola, this happened a couple of times. We finally had to shout to him to get his attention and ask for our child's Sprite. Another apology ensued. So, we had our appetizer and kid's meal, and soon our meals came out. Mine was fine but my husband had ordered the white fish (grilled), broccoli, and baked potato. He got the grilled white fish, more on that in a moment, corn, no broccoli, and rice. Our waiter came to check on us and noticed that we were missing the broccoli, but said nothing about the baked potato. At that point, we just wanted to eat our food and leave, so we left the baked potato issue alone. As my husband was eating the fish, he stopped suddenly and put his napkin over it because he had gotten to the center of the filet and it was slimy and raw. Again, rather than make a fuss, we really just wanted to leave, so we indicated that we were ready for boxes (my food was fine), and the check. At this point, my child asked to use the restroom, so I went with her while my husband settled the bill and packed the boxes. We were in the women's bathroom and as we were walking out of the stall I saw a PILL ON THE GROUND. I didn't think, just picked it up because I could only imagine a child going to the bathroom without a parent and picking it up and ingesting it later. I know it sounds crazy but I've been a teacher for 14 years and have witnessed some sad things. Anyway, we got back to the table- no check, no boxes, no waiter in sight. I told my husband about the pill and he chastised me for picking it up, again, I know it was dumb but I am always thinking about what kids are capable of doing when left unattended. Our waiter finally materialized and we asked for the bill and boxes. He cleared our plates, my husband's almost full plate was covered with napkins and side dish plates. When he came back with the bill and boxes, he asked my husband about the fish, and he admitted that it was raw and slimy inside. Our waiter did immediately ball up the bill and said he would comp it for us, which was really nice. Also, we got to pay the bill on the table computer which allowed me to do the fun survey at the end where I made my feelings about our visit visible to whoever sees those surveys and comments, probably nobody. The blessed moment finally came and we were able to leave. When we got to the car, my husband really started feeling sick and queasy. I pulled out the pill that I found in the bathroom and had my husband google it while I drove us home, he was too sick to drive. The grand finale of the visit was finding out that the pill I found on the women's bathroom floor was a freaking OXYCOTIN. I don't know how this yelp review will help this terrible establishment either clean up their act or maybe get shut down, but I'm happy to share our experience and maybe change some people's minds about coming to this restaurant with their families in the future. read more

There was a little time about 5 minutes, before our waitress came to the table. I didn't like the booths because I'm 6ft tall and I felt like I needed a booster seat.
