I love this place (all Cheddar's) mainly for their onion rings, but they always have great service no matter what location you are at and HEARTY portions. Hearty meaning you will have leftovers most likely. I ordered the Monte Cristo for lunch, should have done the half special because I could literally only eat one-quarter of the sandwich. Visited 5/3/23. Upon arriving we were informed the ovens were broken. There were to be no complimentary croissants. I asked if there were to be any compensation he immediately said NO. I ordered a painkiller (drink), worst I've ever had. Watered down and the caramel tasted like it was going bad, sour taste. I left it after attempting to drink it. I couldn't taste the pineapple juice or coconut. Once I paid, a good amount of money with tip, about $80, the manager, I'm assuming, comes over and says, wish you had let me know, before you paid. Ordered takeout with the family pack of chicken tenders, loaded mashed potatoes, red beans and rice. The order came out to the car early, hot and the order was correctly put together. The chicken tenders were huge and the honey hot sauce was spot on. Mashed potatoes had plenty of large bacon pieces and real cheese, red beans and rice had lots of sausage mixed in and spiced perfectly. Croissants are always delicious so that's expected. Worst 1st experience ever at this San Antonio local resturant chain! Very busy yes, was told at 520pm that a curbside order would not be ready until 600pm...it was NOT! Customer service fail, contacting management fail (no one asked why I was calling, was put on hold, no one answered in a reasonable time frame). No pics because never got past being "checked" in for the curbside pickup. The young man that took my call at 6pm for the promised pickup did not check me in!! which I was told after my wait of more than 25 minutes. No apology, no immediate corrective action...just "we'll bring your order out now" all credibility was gone! I got a call 15 minutes later as I was going into the grocery store, letting me know my Cheddars order was brought curbside but they couldnt find me! Really? Cheddars you can do better! I ordered the salmon and it was surprisingly really good! The portions of the sides are kind of small but that's an overall theme of cheddars. The store was extremely clean and the waitress very attentive to our needs. I recommend for a family meal, not too cheap but also not too expensive. read more

This place is PACKED during lunch!!! Not sure if you could get reservations, but don't count on this being a quick lunch! Service is really lacking, we were not given silverware and water for the first 15 minutes after sitting down. I'm sure our waiter forgot about us. When the food came, I was happy! The ONION RINGS were HEAVEN!!! It's a HUGE serving, but I had no shame eating most of it!!! Also had the potatoe soup and BBQ chicken salad. All were good!!! My coworker had the sheperd pie. Saturday, Feb 27, 2016 about 8:00pm - The crossant's are to die for. The Mac & Cheese was ok, not too exciting, the shrimp was ok, fried too hard and the size was small. And the worst off all: THE SLIPPERY FLOORS! I am disable, walk with a cane and the floors were too slippery for me to use my cane. My cane was sliding all over the floors, which were dirty and quite slippery. The floors need to be cleaned before a customer falls down. I had to hold onto the wall when trying to get to my booth. AND .. why were the golden carrots taken off the menu? The carrots were the highlights along with the croissants. PLEASE, BRING THE CARROTS BACK, I TRULY MISS THEM. read more

The food is great here; made from scratch, home cooking, comfort food. I decided on the Dijon Chicken with mushrooms and it was really good! The chicken was a tiny bit dry but the mushroom sauce made it more moist. It came on top of rice with two sides for under $10. A great deal for all the food you get. I was a little hesitant based on reviews, however I have been #teamCheddars for awhile now...even though it has been a couple years since last visit. We were a party of eight and arrived around 6pm. We were seated right away! The greeters were very welcoming and polite. Within minutes our server came around the corner, greeted us, and introduced herself. Service: Let me tell you...Erica is AMAZING! She was attentive and checked on us regularly. Her timing was so perfect...no long periods nor quick random pop ins. When she checked on us, it was timely and she made sure we were taken care of. Food: Our food was great! Well portioned and flavorful. At one point, they came a silence upon our table...now you know when that happens, the food is good (or we were just really hungry)! Haha! The food was delicious! We ordered anywhere from the steak to the ribs to the seafood and grilled chicken...baked beans to mac/cheese to loaded bake potatoe to broccoli cheese casserole and of course golden fried fries for our sides. Food came out in a timely manner and everything was perfect temperature. Experience: Overall, we enjoyed our time. Prices, as always, remain reasonable. After already done eating we noticed our glass's were extremely extremely dirty. It wasn't from our drinks because when we tried to rub it off with our fingers we could not but was able to scratch off the buildup with my nail. . During a pandemic this is unacceptable. Also noticed some waiters did not have their noses covered with their masks. It's unfortunate that this restaurant cannot follow basic guidelines let alone sanitize correctly after each customer. First ordered a glass of wine that came in a dirty glass with lip markings and finger smudges (not good at all in these days of COVID). Then the food came .. my husbands baked potato was cold and so was mine (mine was also missing the sour cream). The carrots were not fresh at all and we're not edible, tasted horrible, and we're also cold. I asked for green beans instead. And they also serve croissants with sweet butter on top as an appetizer so before you eat you get something sweet and savory. It also won top honors from Consumer Reports and Nations Restaurant News. The best part is that you get a free pie on national pie day and free honey butter croissants every time you eat there. Never thought I'd be giving Cheddar's 4 stars. The Cheddar's in Mobile, AL (now closed) was terrible. When my brother chose this place for his graduation dinner I was NOT happy. However I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Our server Eric was awesome! We had a party of 16 plus 2 babies. He was prompt and polite. The food was hot and actually good! I had the bourbon salmon and my mom had catfish and broccoli casserole. My niece had broccoli casserole and dang near licked the bowl! I didn't take many pics because I was starving. So for tonights episode, the server I got was Tarshanae. Busy Saturday night, waited about 30 minutes. We ordered both a country fried chicken and it was so damn good. The server wasn't too bad. She even came back a few times to check. My four star is that for the server, for things that are free, just always max it out. Just give me a few extra napkins without even asking and refill the water without even bothering to ask. DISCLAIMER: If I could give negative stars I would. Last time coming to this location! We were seated rather quickly since there were only 2 of us. Let me start off by saying THAT was the only good thing about our visit. It took about 5 staff members and 25 minutes to order drinks. Another 10 minutes pass and we receive napkins and menus. I asked for a manager, who arrived 5 minutes later, and let them know about the lack of service thus far. We are 40 minutes in at this point. Our server, who was not one of the 5 people who took our drink order, finally arrived to take our order. Food comes out and order is completely wrong. We did not order what we received and decided we should just leave as our movie time was approaching. We informed the server of the food error and asked to pay for the drinks we ordered, 2 beers and 2 margaritas, so we can go. She fought us trying to say we ordered this and she has it written down. I asked to see where she wrote it down, and looked through her book. She then notices that she never wrote our order down and gave us someone else's order. While this was clearly her error, she brought the bill and it still had the food on there. At this point we were late for the movie and it took another 15 minutes to get the bill sorted out. What a colossal disaster. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. read more

Cheddars has a wide array of options to choose from. I always stay with their strawberry tea. The tea is flavorful and comes with free refills. It has actual strawberries in it as well, and isn't overly sweet. They have a lot of combination plate options with steak or ribs. I usually get the ribs with Buffalo chicken tenders. Both are delicious! If you're more interested in just Buffalo chicken, they have wonderful chicken wraps. The broccoli cheese casserole is wonderful, and I get it each time. I would also recommend the croissants. They are extremely fluffy and covered in honey butter. I rarely get dessert because I'm so full by the end, but when I have I enjoyed both the hot fudge cake and the monster cookie. read more
