Past two visits have been somewhat disappointing. I do not recommend the meatloaf or the steak & shrimp. Meatloaf was like a pressed meat product, (didn't even look like beef, more like SPAM), served with a bland brown gravy. Grilled shrimp served with the steak, were "bait shrimp"! We had a delicious meal at Cheddar's! We were exhausted from driving all day. I'm not sure we were even talking in coherent sentences. Our waitress was sweet and helpful. Our food was delicious. I had the Pot Pie and dinner salad and it was delicious. The chicken melted in your mouth and it tasted homemade. My husband ordered the meatloaf, baked potato, and Caesar salad which said we're all excellent. They were very pet friendly with our two little Shih Tzus in their pet stroller. Service was speedy. Cheddar's is the definition of a safe meal. You know exactly what you're going to get and the quality of the food. I got the Lemon Pepper Chicken with corn, and the chicken wasn't dry at all, unlike most places that serve chicken. However, there was nothing that excited me while eating. The same goes for the rice and corn. The wait staff and service was standard, as to be expected with Cheddar's. IIf yo I upu haven't been to a Cheddar's you're missing out. Overall quality food and a great price. The menu has soups, sandwiches, steaks burgers and ribs. This location has some local inspired fare, Cajun style alfredo pasta. Inside they have a nice aquarium to check out with the kids and family if you have a wait. There's also a bar on the side of the restaurant if that works out for you. They also have some nice decorative ceiling fans. One thing this restaurant did great was social distancing and face coverings. All the tables with patrons were spaced out well. All the staff wore masks and were friendly. I've seen other restaurants in the area that could step up their Covid guidelines, so kuddos to this Cheddar's. Inside you may want to consider bringing a jacket. It's definitely chilly and breezy in some areas. Restrooms are in back left side or the restaurant and clean. Had the trio sampler. It with spinach dip, chips and salsa and chicken strips. While not bad it was ok. The quality of the chicken was good, with great texture breading. It just lacked a little extra flavor for my taste. Would like to have more pepper or seasoning to it. Had the sirloin and ribs with baked potato and steamed broccoli. All was great. The ribs easily fell off the bones. The steak was great. Cooked just right to medium rare and seasoned well. Was the highlight of my meal. In fact the steak and ribs may give Texas Roadhouse grill a run for the money down the street. One small thing that was lacking was the draft beer selection. Went here a few days ago and it was just terrible!! The food all came out cold including the appetizers. The whole restaurant was basically dead at lunchtime which should if been the first sign to leave immediately. Our server knew absolutely nothing about what was on the menu and honestly seemed like they did not care about helping us at all. We were diverted off interstate. Had heard of Cheddars. It was very disappointing. First our table had not been properly cleaned. There was ketchup and some mysterious liquid on the table. I tried to order a hamburger. Was told they were out of hamburgers!!! Really? How do you run out of something so basic? It was really amazing inside, was greeted with a smile and was seated very quickly. My server was on top of her game, had my drink and honey butter croissant and it was a delight. I ordered a full rack,, anticipating tender flavorful ribs. What I got was dry, overcooked ribs. They were not good at all. Our server was friendly, and helpful. The restaurant was very crowded, but that is no excuse for the lackluster food. I will admit that this was the first and only time I have been to this location. For a table of 4 adults and a child...with simple orders. Their previous stellar credits were not showing why they were deserved. Our meal order was simple: 3 steaks medium-rare (with their sides), a New Orleans Pasta, and a child's grilled cheese. Our order took approximately 30 to 40 minutes to get to our table and during the time we needed to engage our waitress for drink refills and checks. The food arrived and the steaks were ALL WELL DONE, nothing near medium, med-rare, or another color close to shades of pink. The pasta arrived cold throughout with only a sense of warmth at the bottom of the bowl. The grilled cheese, though simple in its measure...was cold as well. We debated on the option to protest or to eat...we chose to eat versus the option of attempting to get our orders correct or having a further delayed dining experience. Overall, we enjoyed the company of our meal... we met some old friends, but the food service was hardly anything to positively note; sad, as I truly do look for ANY positive notes I can find.
