Poor service. We sat and waited for 15 minutes after being seated and no body came to our table. We saw table of 4 people get seated 10 minutes after us and their server was at their almost immediately. They had drinks and ordered appetisers. Still we had no server, drinks, nothing. Finally, I got up and walked to Greeters booth and said "What's Going On?, we have no server. Then, I realised that I have the power because I have the money and my Yelp Power. Another very delicious meal with helpful service throughout (today by Angeline/Angie) with a group of six diners. My choice today was the fish and shrimp w/ garlic sauce, and it was better than expected, allowing me to clean my plate entirely. All in the group were please with the individual choices. I'm gonna say that our table was higher maintenance than the neighboring tables, but Angie seemed to take it all in stride, and kept a smile throughout our time there. I do believe they were rather under-staffed this day as all servers seemed to be very busy. As busy as the restaurant was, there was still rather easy parking available. Stopped here for lunch while in town and had the cheese bites, pot pie and buffalo chicken wrap. The cheese bites were tasty, but very greasy so we didn't eat all of them. The pot pie had a very flaky crust, but needed more flavor (it was given a 3.5 stars by my lunch date), and the wrap was really good. All were nice portions; all in all, not bad. read more

We haven't been her in awhile, we used to come here all the time. But we've started staying home more, so we decided to go give it a shot. Cheddars has very rarely let us down. We show up, hostess was pleasant, we were seated right away. It did take a bit until our server showed up, but she did have a trainee with her, so I imagine she was going over things with him. Not a big deal. We ordered our drinks and our dinner. I had the single portion of the country fried chicken which is my usual go to. The wife had the grilled white fish. Our mules came out, good drink. Oh, I forgot, they brought fresh honey butter croissants. So that keeps you happy, then drinks, then the food came out. My wife loved the grilled white fish. I was not so lucky with my chicken. It's always been my go to, this time it was cooked to death. It was rubbery and hard to cut with a knife. The breading was cooked to a crisp or just gone. It took extra time to get out of the kitchen, I didn't want to wait for something else, I ate most of it, but it was nothing like I remember. From fried shrimp with pickles to their chicken pot pie, this place has a large menu with many drinks to choose from as well. We love the honey butter croissants they are soft and have that creamy honey butter. The fried shrimp and pickles are tasty good. I hate pickles,but the shrimp do not taste like it at all. My other half ordered the chicken pot pie and loved it, definitely was very filling for him. I really liked my lunch special of half a monte cristo with a chicken Cesar salad pasta. The monte cristo is deep fried so it is a bit much, but that chicken Cesar salad pasta is good and really filling. We got there at 11am when they opened which I would recommend otherwise it does get a bit busy. read more

I paid $12.68, for my take-out order today and was very disappointed. This was the WORST chicken-pot -pie I have ever had. The crust was awful, no flavor and it came in a black plastic container. This has been on my list of restaurants to try FOREVER! One of my colleagues told me about it years ago and so finally got a chance to try it while visiting Orlando. Let me just tell you, it was delicious. The host (who was expecting) and the waitress were friendly and great. We had the Santa Fe Spinach Dip as an appetizer and it was a great start to our meals since we came in famished. I had the Hand-breaded fried shrimp with Mac and cheese and broccoli as sides. I enjoyed every minute of it. My husband had the Dijon Chicken & Mushrooms and asked for the honey mustard sauces and rice on the side since he has to cut down on carbs. He enjoyed that meal but really didn't care for so much sauce on it. Because I love mushrooms of course I had to try a bite and that part was delicious. Kept saying food should be out soon but never came to check. Walked over to our table after we waved her over and was surprised to see we didn't have anything. I have been to cheddars quite a few times l, but this particular visit I was not impressed by our food service. The server, she was great, but my food came out cold the first time around and my sangria was missing all the fruit. My sangria only had lime and lemons inside. I notified the server about the issues, she gave me a complimentary potato soup, which was decent. I wasn't very impressed by the pasta itself. I ordered the Alfredo with shrimp rather than chicken. The entree only had 4 little shrimp the first time around and they brought me one more shrimp letting me know they forgot the other shrimp. I wasn't sure if it was just busy or if the kitchen was forgetful today. The (manager) was nice enough to discount the meal, but it's the principle. I shouldn't have had all those issues in one sitting. I would recommend better food service for future visits. read more

Unfortunately, I have had multiple bad experiences at this Cheddar's location. Tonight my husband and I went to enjoy a casual dinner, but we ended up taking more than half of our meals to go so we could heat them up in our air fryer at home. We ordered the Wisconsin Cheese Bites appetizer, which took a while to come out but I'll admit was delicious. Our meals came out not even five minutes later, which was frustrating since that ruined the purpose of getting an appetizer. I got the Chicken Tender Platter, and he got the Chicken & Shrimp Platter, both with fries. We were disappointed to find our meals already cold the minute they arrived. They must have been sitting somewhere in the kitchen for a while. We ate a couple of bites and decided it would be better to take them home. There is a Cheddar's on East Colonial that has never failed us, so if you're choosing between the two, it's well worth the drive for an overall better dining experience. **It's the next morning after writing this review, and my husband and I both feel awful. I have visited Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen a few times. It reminds me of a Cracker Barrel type restaurant. Their menu is more comfort food over healthy. The service is always good and their food is served hot. Prices are very reasonable and the service is good. On my last visit my husband and I started with Cheddar's Trio Sampler. ($10.99) It came with spinach dip, queso, salsa, chips and four fresh breaded chicken strips. The spinach dip was loaded with spinach and very cheesy. The queso and salsa taste good but the tortilla chips that came with the trio were a little stale. We both really enjoyed the chicken strips. We did not know what we wanted to eat so we ordered the Monte Cristo ($9.99), Chicken Pot Pie ($9.99), New Orleans Pasta. ($12.99) and a regular salad. Out of the three entrees the pot pie knocked it out of the park. It had tender pieces of fresh white meat chicken and a nice amount of vegetables in a creamy sauce. The salad was cold and fresh and I liked that the dressing was on the side. We finished with coffee and an apple cobbler. The coffee was fresh and strong. We had the Texas TBone and it was cooked exactly how we wanted it, it was tasty and cook to the desired temp. The spinach dip was ok, as were the chips served with it. We recently dined after getting off the plane in Orlando. I normally read reviews and do a lot of research before committing to a restaurant because dining out with a dairy allergy can be challenging but we were all famished so I took it on faith that they'd be able to make something dairy free. Our group members were all pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was and reasonably priced the meal was as well. The service was quick, our server was attentive and we all had leftovers to take home. The server was very knowledgeable about what contained dairy which set my mind at ease. Then the manager came over to reiterate my order and make sure I understood that the fryers are shared. I was highly impressed at their attention to detail. We can't go buy a Cheddars and not stop. It was always so good. My husband has this thing where he has desert first. What would that be? The made to order cookie sundae of course. He has been doing this for over 25 years and it's the only place he does it. However, the food is great as well. I had ribs and shrimp. They offered a "pie one get one" -order a pot pie and get an unbaked one to take home, with instructions included! An appetizer we always order is the onion rings, which come in a fun stack. Cheddar's Chicken Pot Pie is incredible and the portion is ridiculously huge IMO. You can choose a different side to replace the salad stated on menu. We ordered another crowd fave, the Monte Cristo -a ham, turkey, cheese sandwich breaded in funnel cake-like batter with a raspberry dipping sauce! We told our server one of our side fries were cold and she immediately had the kitchen fry up some new ones. Our server that day could have been more attentive with drink refills, but I guess it was a little busy that day. All in all, Cheddar's will always be one of my casual favorites. First time for me at Cheddar's. Received a Darden restaurant gift card for Christmas, so my bestie and I stopped in for dinner this past Thursday. Not many cars in the parking lot at around 4pm...thought this might be a bad omen. Turns out we were just extremely lucky because our meal was fantastic! Seated immediately and graciously greeted by our server, Raphael, who treated us like honored guests. We were famished and Raphael took very good care of us throughout our visit. I had already perused the menu, photos and reviews on Yelp, so I knew exactly what I wanted. First order of business...THE PAINKILLER! It tastes just as good as it looks in the photos folks. If fruity rum drinks aren't your thing, there are plenty more specialy cocktails to choose from that won't drain your bank account. A excellent place to prime your motor before a night of clubbing. I've never been much of a fan of onion rings because they are usually pre-breaded, greasy gag-bombs. Cheddar's claim to fame is that all their offferings are made from scratch. Now I'm a believer because our tower of golden-ringed goodness was delicately battered and perfectly fried. Crispy and piping hot. Yummy dipping sauces too. Both entrees were excellent! I've never had a more crunchy chicken finger in my life...and I'm a chicken finger aficionado...I knows my fingers. Mega crispy on the outside with thick juicy slabs of chicken breast on the inside. No minced mystery meat here. And Cheddar's don't skrimp on the skrimp either. DELISH! I would have to say the best part of our dining experience at Cheddar's was the incredible value received for the money spent. The portions are enormous! I had enough leftovers for a late night snack as well as lunch the next day. Raphael was so cool and made sure I had fresh sauces to-go. I could barely close the box! The specialty drink prices are mind-blowing. I have found fruity rum drink nirvana. The only reason this wasn't a 5 star review is because one of my sides (cole slaw) never made it to the table. I was so dazzled by everything else, I didn't even realize it was missing till I got home. Or maybe the Painkiller was to blame. Yelp 100 Challenge 2017 - 6/100 I'm love that this place is extremely affordable, has a country kitchen feel and you can just relax. The lines for a table are usually long but the hostess moved and sat everyone quickly. My favorite here is the spasagna ( only thing I've ever ordered) and the buttered croissants. read more
