Stopped in after my flight landed. Was not a good service. I ordered half ribs and half tenders with corn and fried my sis got shrimp dish. Let's start off that the fries was cold and 2 of my tenders. It the other tenders was ok. The ribs seemed like they have been sitting under the heat lamp in the back. It was dry. Finally someone came over told them about he fries and told them replace it with coleslaw (since it's cold) the the server came over and told her about the ribs. She said I can bring some more out, I refused and told her just bring me tenders in its place. My sis just took hers home to reheat herself. She did the change the price from the combo to tender dinner. No sincere apology and we hardly seen the server much. Not sure if she got over loaded but service was soso. Given the line and hype I may have built this place up to be more in my head before eating here myself. From the outside they showcase that they ate a from scratch restaurant where everything is made on site. This was obviously appealing. We had a 35 min wait at 5 pm on a Saturday, so be ready for a wait, even for an early bird time. Since it's a large restaurant, that gets crowded is also very loud inside. I struggled to hear my dad taking right in front of me. All the food was good, but nothing crazy to rave about or drive out of the way for specifically. I've been visiting different Orlando eateries since work has me in the area quite often. This time I decided to try Cheddar's after my coworker's raved about it for lunch. I've been on Keto, so I went simple. A bacon cheese burger with no bun and southern green beans. The burger was pretty tasty. A solid burger. The green beans were perfect and I didn't miss the fries (that much, let's be honest). I was initially really taken by how friendly and warm my server was. She was really sweet. I was so hungry I couldn't wait to devour my meal! Imagine my surprise when I open the bag and... well you know what I'm going to say... instead of my burger, there was chicken tenders and fries (it hurt even more because I'm keeping away from carbs, lol). I called the restaurant back. It was almost an hour after I had picked up my order. They immediately knew the problem and worked quickly to get another burger started. I am staying close by so driving back only took like 15 minutes and wasn't a huge deal. The manager was very apologetic and I know mistakes happen. Overall I really liked Cheddar. I'll keep it simple and sweet. I've been wanting to go here for a while. Finally got a chance to take my wife and kids. My daughter had a ceaser salad that she said tasted funky, followed by some weird tasting chicken Alfredo. My son had his usual tenders and fries... He never complains other than the waiter taking forever to bring him BBQ sauce and salt and pepper. My wife had a half a rack of ribs which were more fat that anything else. Only the well done burnt parts were worth it. I had a steak and ribs and my ribs were the same as my wife's . I didn't mention sides because I gotta say they a stingy as hell with the sides. 2 Samuel 1:27 - How the mighty have fallen! So after a few lackluster visits recently, we decide to make ourselves vulnerable and give Cheddar's another try. Based on an awesome looking picture from their website, I ordered the Redfish with Crab Sauce. My wife ordered the Country Fried Chicken, as she often does. When our food came it was then that we realized we had no silverware. Our food started going cold while we waited an oddly long time for the silverware. My wife's Texas toast was hard like a crouton. She asked for a new piece, which came out barely toasted at all. Sigh. On to my travesty of an entree: Be sure to check out the pic. The left is from the website, the right is what they served me. The fish was overcooked, and there was barely a splash of crab sauce. Thankfully our server had an awesome attitude, and he got me some more sauce without hesitation. And somehow our fries were dry on the inside. Yeah... that takes skill. The Fry Snob in me was not pleased. In this restaurant review, I will review my experience at Cheddar's. This restaurant chain first opened in Irving, Texas, in 1979. Now, the franchise has more than 186 restaurants opened around the nation. This has to be one of my favorite restaurants ever. For a restaurant to be good, it has to be clean and have a beautiful ambiance. It also obviously has to have delicious food. This restaurant always has these things, no matter what location. When I went to this restaurant for the first time, I was impressed by how it looked inside. The restaurant's atmosphere is cozy because the lighting is dark and dim. What I mean by cozy is that it makes it relaxing and calm inside. I was also surprised that the majority of the servers are young adults. Which I like because it makes the environment feel better. All the servers at Cheddar's are kind to you. This is essential because I want to avoid mean people handling my food. This is why I would recommend this restaurant. Many of the employees at Cheddar's also speak Spanish, which comes in handy if you need this service. This restaurant's menu has a lot of varieties. So, even if you do not like their specialties, you will likely like what you ordered. They have meals from Shepherd's Pot to Shrimp Alfredo. This is also another reason why I recommend this excellent restaurant. I do not know how they make their meals, but they are delicious. I usually order their grilled salmon, which comes with two sides. I always get their broccoli and baked potato as my side. I recommend this dish because it has a unique and excellent taste. Besides, this dish brings a lemon, and grilled salmon with squeezed lemon is so delicious. But recently, I tried a new dish called Country Fried Chicken. As it sounds, it is one chicken breast with gravy and the choice of two sides. But, like always, I choose the same thing as the picture. So, I ordered it with mashed potatoes and green beans. I enjoyed this dish. I recommend it. In my opinion, it made me think of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. Since it was a southern meal. On Sunday, I went again and ordered the five-ounce grilled salmon. The salmon was soft or easy to chew, which is good. This time, instead of ordering the baked potato. I ordered their french fries, which were a little soggy. I do not like soggy fries because they are greasy. To drink, I ordered their raspberry iced tea, which tasted like raspberry. It was sweet and refreshing. I used a stopwatch on the phone, and the exact wait time was 12:58:30, which was not that long to wait for the food. Before the dishes come, they always give you croissants. The croissants were a little smaller than always but were still sweet and good. Our waiter was friendly. I do not remember her name, but she was attentive if we needed anything. In conclusion, I recommend Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. It will never let you down. There are not many places I have been to in Orlando that have the ambiance or great prices of the chain Cheddars Scratch Kitchen. The look of the restaurant gives a sort of modern-yet traditional feel with its exotic looking fans and leather booths. I visited the restaurant with my sisters due to the fact that one of my sisters exclaimed that "it was her favorite restaurant in the area". When we entered the restaurant was bustling with people and I wondered if it was going to take a while to get a seat, then as if she had read my mind, the hostess let us know that there was no waiting time and we got seated. Our server was a nice girl named Darlene and she gave us the opening spiel regarding the restaurant and type of food that was served there. I decided to go with the breaded chicken tenders and breaded shrimp combination with broccoli and cheese casserole and macaroni and cheese while my sisters went with the salmon and rice and the half rack of ribs and the chicken tenders' combination. For our appetizer we got the chips and queso and it was delicious. The food only took about 15-20 minutes and when it came out I can say my mouth watered immediately. The breading on the chicken was crunchy while the meat was juicy. The casserole was good as well. The mac and cheese was average however. By the end of the meal everyone had cleared their plates and was suffering from a food coma. The price of the food was very affordable and we ended up spending around 40$ between 3 people. The reason I'm giving this review 4 stars is because I did not get a chance to try the drinks and would have loved to do that. I will definitely be coming back again. read more

This is a brand new franchise food chain and so far the place has been popular! The times we have came to eat my portion of the foods have been "salty"! Its sad because foods are made from scratch yet they tend to overseason foods! The first time I have eaten here the onion rings were tad bit salty so I had to cover it up a little bit with their homemade delicious ranch dressing dipping sauce - the chipotle sauce is not favorable for my palate. The cheddar burger from the first visit was huge and cooked perfect "medium well" - it was juicy and just tastes fresh! It was a popular entree from here and was excited to try it UNTIL AGAIN - too salty! WHY??? I barely touched my pasta and ate the garlic toast to get over the over salted taste of my entree! The manager came by the table and mentioned the sausage, chicken and other meats are pre seasoned and that may have cause the dish to be salty and offered options for me to replace the entree. I heard raves of the Mac & Cheese and I chose that and she also offered a soup and I chosed Baked Potato. The Mac & Cheese was delicious the pasta was odd shaped - I didnt have the chance to eat my baked potato soup but when I was preparing it to my doggie bag containers I tasted whats left in the spoon and it was delicious! They waived my entree and my 2nd option of food was on the house! My wife, my daughter, and I had just finished a movie at Epic Theaters and wanted something to eat. We usually stop at a local seafood place; but, I had suggested Cheddar's to my wife, as we really like it. As on a prior visit, the parking lot was packed; but, surprisingly we were seated almost immediately. Brandon was our server; and, he took our drink orders right away. I got a Newcastle Brown Ale, which is one of my all-time favorite beers; but, that's another story of Hubb's Pub and Brews Around the World (echo effect on!) My wife got the Presidente Sangria, which she enjoyed very much; and, our daughter just had water. We started with the Croissants, which are drizzled with honey butter; are so flaky and tender; and, oh, so very very good. Our daughter got one with her Chicken Caesar Salad, so my wife and I had two each on the appetizer; and, she only had one. For mains, I ordered the Baby Back Ribs, which are so tender, tasty, smokey; they are just perfect. There were so many, I had to take half home; and, they were just as good the next day! Cheddars is an all American cuisine that has comfort food for everyone. For appetizers we started with the fried onion rings that were stacked! It was so nicely prepared for us. I later decided to have the country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and the homemade Mac and cheese they're known for (my friend got the same thing) and we both loved it! The Mac and cheese was really cheesy and warm. This location is great with for big groups and is a really nice place to go out with friends. Well, we just found a favorite place. Thanks yelp as I did not even know this place existed until i saw a recent review on the main page and checked it out. A solid 4 stars for food quality and friendly, knowledgeable server, Carissa, and an extra star for the prices and quantity. I had the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and wife had the vegetable plate all of which was very good. My favorite part was the mashed potatoes. My wife is a coleslaw connoisseur and said that this was some of the best she has ever had. At Carissa's suggestion we tried a couple of the mini desserts and were very glad we did as they were much better than expected and for the price we will definitely get them again every visit. And the prices! I can't remember ever having such a good meal in a nice looking restaurant with a great server for such a small sum. Two meals with sodas and desserts for less than $25. So I decided to go to cheddars for lunch. As I was looking at the menu for a chicken Cesar salad. And talking with my server who was very knowledgeable about the menu. She suggested having the chicken Caesar pasta salad. With substituting the grilled chicken and adding the fried chicken tenders on the salad. I'm visiting from Chicago and this restaurant was recommended to me. I order the cheese bites appetizer. They were salty and the oil they were fried in was old. We also ordered the New Orleans pasta and the Cesar chicken wrap. Pasta was bland and the sausage in the pasta was horrible. I'm not some Bennigan's freak it is just a monte Christo hater because Bennigan's is close... But I do consider myself somewhat of a Montecristo expert. I tried money Christo several times once it was outstanding, once it was disgusting and hardly cook and the third time it was just a man yeah no so-so. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment for orient three times anyway. They do offer an interesting bunch of sides that you don't see and get a chain restaurants they haveBroccoli casserole, very rich and spice sort of earthy mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, french fries get the idea. Cheddars claims to be a scratch kitchen, it I don't know how much I believe that 100% with prices so cheap. The croissants are good but you have to buy the "bread" for the table. Some dishes are better than others. Like I said the sides are pretty solid so you can go in and give the simple solution---side sampler you where they can pick from dishes and get a feast of the most fattening stuff ;-) It's worth giving a try being on semoran near the airport where choices are somewhat minimal. In other locations I normally love this place.They give good portions of good comfort food for a reasonable price. I normally like them but this location was lacking. We arrived before the lunch rush. We were one of about four tables total. Yet somehow once we were seated, we didn't see our waiter for about 10 minutes. We had to call him over to take our orders. We had to ask REPEATEDLY for some croissants and when they came, they were cold, even though he said that the long wait was because they had just been baked. Then we waited forever for the appetizer which came at the same time as our food, ALL COLD. The spinach dip and queso for the nachos had that dried skin on top. Then to top it all off, dude charged me twice: once for my meal then again for my sisters meal that she had already paid cash for. Then asked me twice if I was sure, as if he didn't believe me, AS I'm showing him proof on the receipts and the card thingy at the table. The amount of times we had to ask him for the same things was ridiculous: napkins, silverware, our drinks, water refills, sauces, and yes- the croissants. Several times I could see him in the hall between the kitchen/back and the dining area just talking to people. My sister asked for management but they never came so we just left. Idk if the whole restaurant needs to be thrown away or just the waiter, but I do not recommend. I'm pretty sure the waiter's name was Chris. My meal was the half rack of ribs with grilled shrimp combo. It came w rice plus two additional sides for $14.50. You get a lot of food for the price. Everything was good but not great. Ribs were a little dry for my taste (good flavor, just on the drier side) so I brought most of them home. My table stayed a while chatting and not once did they try to rush us out even though the restaurant was crazy busy with people waiting outside. I came here on Saturday evening with my girls for dinner. We were greeted very promptly by our waiter, Chris. Before I proceed, I must say Chris is one of the best waiters that I've ever had in my times of going to restaurants. He is hilarious, and makes you feel very comfortable especially when ordering your meal. We were starving so decided to order chips and queso as our appetizer. The serving size was enough for the three of us, and before we were finished, Chris came and brought us more chips. We also got this amazing frozen drink. I think it was called Texas strawberry swirl..... (I stand corrected) And boy oh boy was it HUGE!! Dinner came in about 15 minutes later. I ordered the chicken Parmesan. And Chris warned me about the portion size. He said I'll have your carry out box waiting for you cause you're gonna need it. When it arrived I was stunned at the size !! The food was amazing! Probably one of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. Many open tables but was told we had to wait 10 mins. Then once we finally sat down and asked for a booster seat for our 3 year old it came about another 10 minutes later. While we were sitting and waiting, we witnessed 3 different tables, that sat in the same section well after we arrived get served before a waiter/waitress even attempted to look in our direction. After the 4th table was sat down and waited on before us, we finally decided to get up and leave. On our way out we talked to one of the managers and told him about what happened and he acted like he didn't even care in the slightest bit. Definitely do not recommend this place unless you would like to be completely ignored and then getting an I don't care attitude. read more
