Had to ask twice just to get the appetizer after I made remark of getting food before appetizer. Wife's dish was supposed to have chicken included. There was none. I ordered medium well steak and it was beyond well done. Wife's pasta had shrimp in it with tails still on them. Never had this happen before. Brought us wrong sides. The person I was dining with had a half rack of ribs that she said were meaty and delicious. The french fries however were very bland. Service started off great, the waitress refilled my tea without having to be asked. Extra napkins were requested for the ribs but when she brought out the ribs she forgot them. Then our young blonde waitress decided to pretty much ignore us after we had our main dish. She had to be called for my next refill. She reached out to take my plate before I was finished because we had paid. She possibly ignored our blinking red light and definitely ignored me when she saw I wanted something. When exiting the bathroom area, BEWARE! I was met, head on, at full speed, by a waiter with a full tray af full sized drinks! Now. It's no Michelin Star, fine dining perfect restaurant. It might not impress the greatest chefs in the United States. However, if you're trying to get good food, good atmosphere, and delicious drinks. This is a place to go and fortunately for everyone, it's at a pretty unbeatable price. This is also one of the only restaurants that can have my mouth watering before I get there whether it be the food or(if you're 21, and please drink responsibly or have a designated driver) a Maui Margarita. If there was a non alcoholic version of it. I'd drink it every day. The greatest thing with this location is I have danced around this menu from steaks, to pot pies, to ribs and chicken fried steaks and whether it be the first time or the 30th time it's always came out as expected and delicious. Decided to wait it out and try this place out, since I've passed it so many times, but it's always packed with no parking and I figured even longer wait times. Drove there Sunday evening, found parking, and when I walked in there was no wait! The first thing you notice is their distinct features like a very large fresh water fish tank and unique ceiling fan. I can't speak for everyone else, but our server was great. The Chicken Fajita Quesadilla was frickin amazing. The picture I took doesn't even come close to doing it justice. I almost liked this more than my entree, but definitely more than my sides by far! It was a pretty fat quesadilla, but some how kept most of it's shape with it's thin crispy tortilla. The chicken was super flavorful, bits of thick cut bacon could be tasted with each bite, good veggies, and jack cheese melted and held things together perfectly. It's kinda sad that I got this the first time here, because next time I come back I want to try their other stuff, but there's no doubt this is being ordered again. The 6 oz. sirloin steak was so good. I couldn't believe how fast it and my friend's 20 oz. bone in Ribeye came out (Like no more than 10-15 minutes). I said medium well and it came out perfectly medium well (I'd definetly feel comfortable ordering my usual medium rare next time). My sirloin was super flavorful, not too juicy, but still a really good steak that hit the spot. The Mac and Cheese side was okay. Not the best mac and cheese I've had or can make, but you can definitely tell it's made from scratch. The roux was a little heavy for my taste and in my opinion the bechamel could have had a little more cheese or sharp cheese (but sometimes sharp cheese doesn't melt the best, so you need to mix it with other cheeses). The Mashed Potatoes side was pretty good. It's a mixture of a little of what everyone likes. It's creamy, with a little bit of soft chunks of potato, very tiny flakes of skin, and a lot of butter. The mashed potatoes were covered with a light white creamy gravy. The seasoned rice was kind of bland. Didn't seem like much effort went into it as the other sides, dishes, or drinks. Didn't even care to finish it. Definitely not getting it ever again. Tried one mixed drink and it was very good. I can't remember the name, but it had a limit of 2 per customer and I don't think I could taste any alcohol in it at all. BUT it was very tasty. I'm going to max out next time I go. In conclusion, if you couldn't already tell. I'd recommend this place and am definitely coming back. Their mixed drinks and list of them alone is reason enough to stop in, but their food is very good overall. So if you're looking for either or, or both. I don't think you can go wrong here. The only downside is, I don't know how I got so lucky where they weren't busy. After coming here Sunday, I understand whey this place is always busy. Oh, Cheddar's. You are my go to suggestion when I am eating out with picky friends. You are a place I visit on an embarrassingly frequent basis...you are well loved but also flawed... I live ridiculously close to Cheddars so I eat here at least once or twice a month. The menu is full of what I consider American style comfort foods-lots of meats & carbs, essentially. But there is also a decent selection for vegetarians, and I am sure vegans can find a decent plate here, too. I am particularly fond of the rack ribs-always tender, fall off the bone with the gentlest prod from a fork, and smoky and full of flavor. So good. Portions are huge, prices are fair. Truth be told, at this point I have tried almost everything on the menu. Never had anything I wouldn't try again! I will caution that coming on the weekends guarantees you will stand around for 20-30 mins waiting for a table. It is always slammed on the weekends. Do yourself a favor and wait by the fish tank, or be tacky like me and wait in your car with the table buzzer watching Netflix on your phone ;) Don't forget dessert! read more

Cheddars is always a favorite when it comes to chain spots. They offer food similar to a Ruby Tuesdays or Applebees, but with their own flair. On this last visit, the steak I was given was undercooked (I asked for MW, but received MR) our waiter took care of it promptly, and removed the previous steak. This was my first visit. I was incredibly underwhelmed with the service during my visit as well as my conversation with the manager later that day. I was prepared for a delicious leisurely meal and was patient. I ordered soup, was later advised it would be 5 minutes and continued to read my book. when my soup arrived it was quite cold, I'm assuming the "scratch kitchen" advertised is not on the premises. I had to leave my table to find someone to tell them the soup was too cold to eat. Once it was heated, it was quite tasty. I ordered two items to go. only checked one, it was not complete the server said he has ADD and forgets to check things. By this time, I was ready to leave. I tipped him well despite the service issues and went home. I then discovered that the main part of the second order (which I didn't check) was missing. I spoke with the manager who made some excuses but said he would credit the entire charge to my account. Nine days later there is still no credit. Unfortunately I had to take a star off because our waiter seemed like he was new and hadn't been trained very well. Our food came all out of order. Two of us got their croissants and main dishes first, then all three of us got our salads, then the appetizer came out and the third croissant was asked for and finally arrived, and then I asked the waiter to just bring my main dish out in a to-go box. I've eaten here for lunch three times, twice during the week and once on a Saturday. The restaurant is large but often has crazy long waits. They have a good selection on their menu. My favorite option is their lunch combos which offers a choice of either a sandwich and a soup or salad (or for an up charge you can get both). I usually go with the buffalo chicken wrapper with the Caesar salad. Their salads are served with warm croissants with honey butter, which are delicious. On my most recent visit I tried their Maui Margarita which was pretty good, and a good value for the price. The prices are very reasonable. The service was average. The food was bad. I order a drink and the waitress brought the drink bad overflowing and on to the table because they overfilled it. If anything, you under fill to save product costs. For being a scratch kitchen, everything should be made from scratch. I am lactose intolerant and cannot have milk or butter. I ordered a steak with shrimp. My first two sides were mashed potatoes and green beans. Both had milk or butter. I was not informed until I asked about my sides. Substitute sides had to be French fries and steamed broccoli. When my food came out, my rice under my shrimp saying it was cooked wrong. I never got rice. It was missing because it probably was cooked with butter. The steak I ordered was to be medium well. The steak came out well done and very dry. My dinner date experienced the same over done and dry steak even though it was order the same way. Oil or margarine would have been fine but I was not even given an option. First, I would like to thank our waitress, Blair, for the outstanding service that she provided. She was so kind and had a great attitude even after an admitted long day. The fact that she went to ask if I could get the Tuscan Chicken sandwich special ordered to be vegetarian AND even cut up fresh mushrooms for me was just fantastic. I have never had a waiter/waitress go so above and beyond. On the other hand, the food was ok. I know that Blair had written down exactly how I wanted my custom ordered sandwich and I was not served that sandwich. I am not sure if the cook was not happy about the order or somehow there was miscommunication, but my sandwich was cucumber, mushroom, & lettuce (which was far from the description which included a pesto spread and cheese). Another order of ours was also off. I have been frequenting Cheddar's since they opened in 2011. Their quality has always been high, as is the value for the amount of food that they offer. That being said, let's get down to business. Our server was Ashlyn. She was generally very attentive with keeping my raspberry lemonade coming when I was low or out, so this is appreciated. I am very thirsty while waiting for the food, so having something to drink always on-hand is excellent. She didn't clear away the empty glasses during my visit, so they just sat there during the the entire meal. I ordered the half-sandwich (Monte Cristo) and two bowls of soup (baked potato) for $7.79 (1/2 sandwich and two pairings). For those that don't know, this is an incredible deal. Normally a bowl of soup is $3.99, so getting two bowls plus a half-sandwich makes the breakdown at $2.56 an item. Seriously, split this with a friend and you will save money (and room) for dessert! Another issue was having to ask for the raspberry sauce that comes with the Monte Cristo sandwich. She didn't catch this, my fiance and I did. Overall, this visit was pleasant and enjoyable. My daughter and I really enjoy coming to Cheddar's. Their food is really delicious. Each time we have come here, we have tried different things and we haven't left unhappy yet! Their foods, they claim, are scratch made. I can believe that because the food is very tasty and doesn't have the taste of being overly preserved. Also, the food takes a little bit to be ready, so you know they don't just warm up your food in a microwave like some places do. I believe this is my 100th posted review on Yelp. To celebrate, I ordered a Maui margarita along with fried cheese popper appetizers and the Spagsagna dish. Service was excellent on a crowded Friday night and everyone was well mannered and promoting positive civil behavior, from opening doors for others and moving away from the reception desk to make room for others who were lined up behind them. The prices have always been reasonable and I consider this location a we'll run establishment. Come early unless you don't mind waiting close to an hour during prime time. Parking is still ample and easy to navigate. I would prefer this place on crowded nights just to see professionals being their best. read more
