Was there yesterday and the service was terrible. Food ok. It took forever to get our food. we had to stop the server to see what was going on. He came back and said they never prepared our order. We both had Caesar salad and a bowl of soup. My potato soup was good but only luke warm. Her Chicken tortilla soup had nothing but broth and a few veggies and tortilla strips, no chicken. Server did get another bowl for her which was better. Took forever to get drink refills. We were served after 3-4 tables that came in after us were served. The place was freezing. I did ask a manager to please turn the heat up. I dislike eating with my coat on and believe me there were plenty of other people I observed with their coats on. Our 1st time there we had received a gift card from friends. We were seated right away I thought it was romantic atmosphere I ordered the grilled chicken pecan salad with the crescent roll and it was all delicious my man got the lasagna/spaghetti dish he wasn't a fan of all the cheese and wish there was more meat sauce. Cheddars is a great place to take a hot date and not break the bank. It has a very nice atmosphere and the menu has a wide variety from chicken fingers and burgers to nicer food. For vegetarians your only option is the side sampler which is good, but I don't roll that way and enjoy my meat. read more

We decided to try Cheddars in Lincoln. Great place to eat. If you don't want to wait sit at the bar. We had great conversations with the other customers, got to see what everyone else was eating, and got to watch the bartenders make all their drinks. The prices are very reasonable and you get a lot of food for your money. My husband had the Salmon- lunch size portion. it was more than he could eat. Visited twice now - now I'm sure the service needs help! Both times the food was okay, once it finally arrived at the table. The latest trip we had placed a drink order and our server returned to ask if we were ready for our check. He then realized we had not received our food. Half of our drink order was filled twice. After two attempts I don't think I'll be taking my meal business here any longer. Food is not very good. We tried several things and most were "ugh". The hamburger meat for the hamburgers wasn't even seasoned - very bland. We now only go there for a dinner salad and croissants - their honey glazed croissants are very good and fresh baked tasting. At first we liked the onion rings too, but now we find them to be way too oily (on the last order the oil just dripped off the onion rings). The ribs were not worth the money either. The food was good. Nothing spectacular. The artichoke dip was a table favorite. The service, however, was not satisfactory. The onion rings are hand battered and made to order making the cooking process a bit longer. The server failed to tell us this. Though we ordered our appetizers several minutes before our entrees, the entrees came out first followed shortly by the appetizers. At that point we didn't want the appetizers but took them anyway. My father-in-law's burger was cold. When he told the server, the server said he was sorry then quickly asked us if we wanted dessert. The lack of concern for he cold food was upsetting. Worst food I've had in Lincoln so far. My shrimp was rubbery and tasted frozen. My rice and beans were pure mush, and my fries were VERY salty and burnt. Went in on the Friday after Thanksgiving at 6:00, seated right away at a booth in the bar. All staff was very friendly and very attentive. Not a large menu, which isn't a bad thing but nothing really popped to me. The wife and I shared the onion rings as an appetizer. They were awesome, plenty for the two of us. I had the fried shrimp, average, nothing special. The wife had the chicken strips, once again, average, nothing special. One thing that did catch my eye was "Scratch and Homemade". This isn't a big deal for me but if you are going to advertise it do it. I'm pretty sure, not definitely, but don't think anything I had was home made, except for the onion rings. When you want to eat somewhere good, go where the locals go. Turns out, this is my brother's friends' default place to eat. According to them, all the food is great (especially the deep-fried sandwich that'll kill any diet), reasonably-priced and the service is decent. From my two visits, they weren't wrong. Everything was clean, the large windows let lots of light in, the place was always busy and if you don't count the girl training at the hostess stand, everyone was friendly, too. I think she was overwhelmed though. More distracted and unsure of herself than rude. I had the fried shrimp and the chicken fingers and I soooooo wished there was more! On a menu this big (and fairly cheap) you have to know what's good and what stinks or otherwise you're in for a long service wait and ordinary food. Cheddar's does the honey butter croissants well. Order some of those. Maybe 2 orders. You'll get them fast. You'll eat them fast. The onion rings are decent. Light, flaky, easy to eat. The chicken and waffles entree is stupendously fattening, but, again, Cheddar's resolves to do it well. The burgers are fair. The chicken strips are as they would be anywhere, including your own kitchen. Why you'd order ribs or a steak is something you'd have to ask someone who did that. The broccoli cheese casserole is arguably the best side item so ditch the fries and go with two helpings of that. Like many restaurants these days, Cheddar's likes to fancy up salads with fruit and twigs without paying a whole a lot of attention to whether it really works. If I want pears, almonds and parm cheese, I'll just collect those things on a plate, rather than toss them with lettuce. I guess you'd call the joint middlebrow, you know? Trendy but cheap. Lots of people are offended by it, I guess, but I wasn't. Stick the formula: Croissants; onion rings; and broccoli cheese casserole, and you're cooking with gas. The service was average. This is one of the worse experances that I have had in a long time waited for over 30 minutes to get a table, waited another 15 to order waited another 30 to have wrong salads brought out. after and hour and a half walked out the door with food to go because of time constraints and to go was wrong. short a couple of meals. If you want to go to a place that is under poor management and can't get simple meals right this is the place to go to. I've had better service in 3rd world countries than this place. This is the worst place I have ever eaten at in Lincoln! It started off fine we were seated right away. The waitress took our order and our food was out relatively quick but both of our orders were wrong. My gf ordered the salmon and they brought out tilapia and when we said this to the waitress she said well that's what the ticket said. Finally our waitress said she would talk to her manager and see what they could do. She apologized and eventually brought out the salmon and said they took her meal off the ticket. I ordered chicken fingers with a side of ranch and they brought honey mustard, I had to ask 3 times to finally get ranch. They never refilled our waters and the place wasn't even very busy. Once we finally got the check there was no discount on it what so ever! They ran the ticket with an order of salmon, chicken fingers, and the tilapia. How dumb can you be? Ordered 3 meals for just 2 ppl. They finally took off the tilapia and we just wanted to leave. Very dissatisfied I left a very slim tip. And when i check my credit card statement today the waitress added an extra tip more than I authorized! I will never be returning to this terrible restaurant!!!!!! read more

We are regulars at Cheddars in Pooler, Ga, so we had to try this new one and see if they're up to the test. Went in at 12:45. My wife ordered salad with ranch on the side because she's not a fan of a lot of ranch. It came out with ranch all over it. I had her send that back right away. It didn't come out with the croissant either and said she would bring it out right away. We did receive our food right at 10 min, for how busy it was, which I thought was great service. My broccoli was suppose to be steamed and soft. I would say it was partially steamed and not fully done. I didn't complain, just ate it. Then my wife's plane jane cheeseburger that she ordered came out all decked out with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and mustard. She didn't want to bother them but it kind of irked me. I told the waitress and she said "they probably grabbed the wrong one" (because a different waitress brought our food out).And at that time, I also asked for my croissant because she forgot about it already. So then my wife had to wait another 10 minutes for her plane jane cheeseburger. She ate half of it because the middle was just about raw. We didn't mention that either because we were done complaining and it won't go no where. We got our bill and that seemed like another 10-15 minutes for her to bring the bill back for us to sign. Wow the wife and I decided to try the New Chedders in Lincoln last night. All I can say is WOW. It was busy but they had the call boxes and it only took about 20 to 30 minutes to get in. Looking at the menu it is full of great items, but most important resonable prices. I really can not say more about the prices other than for the amount of food it will be hard to beat. The onion Ring stack for $3.99 Was impressive. My wife and I had a appitizer, 2 main dishes, rolls, upgrade on a side dish to soup-(cost.99cents), 2 rasberry teas, and best of all 2 of the .99 desert shot glasses. All for $39 and some change (Before Tip). So Again very resonable in this economy. I think Chedders will do very good here and it will be crowded for some time. Top notch service was had as well, They were always checking on us to make sure we had a good time and if we needed anything. At one point I thought it got a little too much. Although I would rather them check on us, instead of wanting something and no one checks on us. ........Well what are you waiting for go now and get yourself some! read more

My fiance and I ate there last night for the first time on my birthday. We always look forward to try out a new restaurant in Lincoln. The parking lot was full and we anticipated a wait, but we were seated immediately by a less than hospitable waitress. The waiter was young and inexperienced, but enthusiastic. The food was hit or miss, large portions, and overall greasy. The drinks were inexpensive, but contained little alcohol. The tortilla soup was so salty I could not finish it. I went to this place as a young adult (19) in Okc and it was delicious! That was not my experience this time. I got the chicken fried chicken and it was under cooked and I got sick in result. My Mac n cheese came out cold as ice and my corn as well. They serve the smallest portions for an unfair price. I felt like an adult ordering food and paid adult prices with kids meal portions put in front of me. I barely ate anything and was just upset in general. I told me server that my food was cold and my chicken wasn't cooked all the way through and she seemed to only care about the cold food complaint. She didn't apologize or offer to have it re cooked she just brought me out more cold food which pushed me over the edge. She didn't offer a discount or to give me something completely different when I complained again about my chicken. I asked to talk to a manager because under cooked chicken is unacceptable. No one ever came. We sat there for a good amount of time and it seemed as if our table was just avoided by everyone. I will NEVER go there again, it was pathetic. We just paid and left because I didn't have time to continue to wait. I expected better for a sit down restaurant. read more

Pricey, but the food was superb. The Monte Cristo (I believe that's what it's called) was a fantastic sandwich. Waiter was polite and incredibly well verse in the menu, even offering suggestions of which side would best serve the meal. Cheddars is nothing special and you can get the same kind of food at any restaurant in town. What was so disappointing was the horrible wait service and their unwillingness to accommodate large parties ( we had 11). We were told we would have a 30-40 min wait, that turned into an hour, and we were seated in three different booths. Then we waited another 45 min for food. When it came time to pay, one of the booths had to pay separately because they were in another servers section and they couldn't figure out how to put the tabs together. All in all, hostesses and waitstaff stupid and unwilling to think and figure things out. Food definitely not good enough to go back. Folks don't waste your hard earned dollars going to this place. We were so excited when it was announced that Cheddars was coming to Lincoln. What a huge let down. We have been 4 times - three times and your out, but decided to give it one last try. WON'T BE BACK!!!! Place is very loud and totally having some major service problems. By now they should be worked out. Our first trip was two weeks after they opened. We went early and actually got in without any problem. We went with friends and we all ordered drinks. The drinks arrived 30 minutes after we ordered them at which time waiter finally asked about taking our order. We were celebrating our anniversary so wanted a steak dinner with baked potato. It is 5:00 and no baked potato that evening so we all ordered - I ordered steak and shrimp with rice and broccoli. Our orders came 60 minutes later. When my order came I had steak and ribs no rice and no broccoli. Waiter took order back. I told rest of party to go ahead and eat while food was still warm. Finally 20 minutes later my plate came back with two shrimp and steak - still no rice or brocolli. Waiter went back and came out with rice I never did get brocolli. So much for a nice anniversary dinner with friends. Second trip we went with son and daughter-in-law. Again we got seated right away it was only 3:00 in the afternoon so place was really quite. We all ordered a drink and an order of onion rings. Got our drinks in 15 minutes still no onion rings. Waiter keep saying the onion rings will be out soon. Asked if we wanted to place order. We did and all just ordered sandwiches. We got our meals in about 20 minutes - yep still no onion rings. Husband ordered a club sandwich - came out on untoasted bread. What the blazes is going on. He was so frustrated he just told the waiter and went ahead and ate the sandwich. We had finished our meal before the onion rings finally showed. Waiter said they could not take the onion rings offour bill so we sat and visited while we ate the onion rings. My husband was actually still hungry since his club sandwich was so small and not made correctly. Third trip my husband and I got off work early so thought since it was only 4:00 we would give them one last try. Ordered a drink and did get it within 5 minutes. Placed dinner order of nacho's and onion rings. Place had few customers and it took 60 minutes to get our order. Really......... WHY CHEDDARS is your service so slow. My in-laws wanted us to take them to Cheddars so we agreed to give them one last try. This was Saturday evening. We arrived at 4:30 already had a wait however I looked around to see how many empty tables I could see. I saw 6 empty - clean tables but we are waiting. WHY CHEDDARS!!!! Get the people in and get them seated. My mother-in-law can't stand for very long so we ended up at a high top in the bar. It was very noisy we could not even visit. Again we ordered our drinks and onion rings, they actually both showed up at the table within 10 minutes. We all ordered and my husband and I just wanted salads so we each ordered a salad - how can you mess this up? Mine was to come with poppy seed dressing actually came with ranch. At this point I'm done with saying anything to waiter so just ate the salad and vowed to never come back again. Cheddar's is a tasty restaurant, they can be hit and miss, however they are always more than willing to take care of you. I've been there several times. The first time I arrived, I looked at the bar menu, and was ASTOUNDED by the ridiculously low prices on their drinks. $3.50 for a jumbo margarita that is easily 8 dollars anywhere else? Fantastic. Then I saw their menu. Also cheap! Every time I have gone, I have ordered their queso with beef, and it was delicious. For $3.99 you would expect it to be terrible? But it was great. I got the Cajun Pasta then. Which naturally comes with sausage, chicken, and some sort of seafood. I hate seafood, so I talked to the waiter. Our server talked to the manager, and they substituted extra chicken for me, it was really good, BUT CRAZY SPICY. I understand it's cajun, but a lot of restaurants that are chain style, don't really get that emphasis. Cheddar's does. :) I also have ordered the Spagsana, their signature meal, and that was one of the best things I have ever eaten, in my life. I have only had one bad experiance, when I ordered Chicken & Waffles. The waffle came out dry, and the chicken was too hard. I told our server, and immediately the chef strolled out and removed out plates and said he'd take them off our bill, and even remake us new food free of charge. I was impressed with his tenacidy, although I opted for some potato soup rather than a meal. The best potato soup I have ever had. The low prices pretty much made up for the bad meal. The manager only made me pay for my partner & I's drinks. After he removed our waffles, he went a little crazy with the bill. We came at 6:30 on fathers day, we have been here many times before, but this will be our last visit. We ordered and waited for our food for quite a while (didn't time it, never had a service problem here before, at least 25 min). When we received our food, 3 of the peoples drinks at our table were empty and the waitress said she would bring us more, we never got them. My wife was supposed to get garlic bread with her meal, waitress said it was on the way, it never arrived. My sister asked for 57 sauce to go with her steak, never arrived. Waitress stated they were out of green beans and broccoli, people were getting both on our way out. This will be our last visit, we have had great experiences here in the past, but this is all completely unacceptable. read more
