First off, why am I deducting a star? Lack of organization. We were told it would be 20 minutes till we were seated. After 40 we were annoyed, & after an hour I asked if they'd like to give me a more accurate assessment of our wait time. That's when they asked for our buzzer number, then our name. She said we'd been called...and then seated. That's right: someone apparently called our name instead of ringing the notification buzzer, then some other classy people told her they were us, got seated, & left us standing there none-the-wiser. Somehow the hostesses didn't look at the buzzer number or anything. So that was incredibly irritating. Otherwise? The food was marvelous! I had the shepherd's pie, which had good thick gravy, lots of veggies, & great potatoes (a little dry, but nothing to complain about, given the gravy). My husband had the grown-up grilled cheese, which is essentially a pot roast sandwich with lots of melted cheese. Super delicious! We also had the appetizer sampler with nachos, chicken tenders & fried cheese. All three were good, but the nachos were my favorite. There's real strawberry lemonade, which is a major plus. The server was friendly, & if we didn't see her often, I'm chalking that up to this place being new & constantly packed. Just finished eating at Cheddar's in Jonesboro, AR. I ordered the Key West grilled chicken, I will never order that again. The chicken was like rubber and the grilled shrimp was burnt. The house salad I payed extra for was about one quarter carrots. The steamed broccoli was good and the rice with the sweet sauce was very good. I just wish the entree was up to the same level as the sides. My waiter told the manager but no effort was made to come talked with me about the meal. A pleasant waiter served us. I ordered battered fried shrimp with coleslaw, macaroni and cheese. I've had this same dish many times while living up north. However, this is my first negative experience. I don't know what the shrimp were battered with, but it is not consistent with other Cheddar's. As well the macaroni and cheese, it was dry and tasteless. The coleslaw did not taste fresh at all. My husband ordered shrimp and ribs with a baked potato and broccoli. We were excited to see a Cheddars open in Jonesboro, as we've have always enjoyed eating there when we came across them. The building is clean and new and we were served almost immediately upon entering. Our waiter was quick about getting us drinks initially but then we never saw him again. After waiting over an hour for our food, almost all our entrees (6) came out cold. The steak was to salty, the baked potato tasted like it was left over from lunch. We received our salad at the same time we received our meal. The waiter never asked us if we needed a refill. He never asked us if everything was alright. We asked for steak sauce and finally had to ask another waitress to get us some. He only came back to our table to give us our check. I've never been a big fan of Cheddar's but we've been on a kick of giving places 'one more chance'. The food is just so-so overall. The spinach and artichoke dip was pretty good as well as the onion rings. The chicken stripes just weren't all that, but I will say that there were plenty on the plate. Yes, it's another cookie cutter franchise restaurant. I'm usually not a fan of them but by the end of my visit I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I found the inside to be extremely clean, nicely decorated, and more upscale in appearance than the low prices would indicate. Regarding the prices, by northern standards, the prices are downright unbelievable. $5 for appetizers? $5 for hamburgers? $8 for entries? It made me wonder, are they using real meat? It would seem so, because my catfish tasted fine and everything else I tried was fine also. By the way, the entire staff gets bonus points for being really friendly too. read more

I will never return to this place. Our server Donavan was outstanding although the kitchen didn't have several items we had ordered. We were told they had no baked potatoes. Food was brought out and then we were told 2 entrees ordered were out. The Manager told us we could not order just a piece of salmon. The salmon was then brought out with the baked potato that we were told was unavailable earlier. The manager then chewed out the server in front of us. The server was told the items were out by the manager, he didn't have the sack to tell us himself. Wait, he lied to the server as the were not out as we found out later. What a scumbag. This has been the worst experience I have ever seen for a manager to send a server out with excuses. I figure the manger wanted to close the kitchen and lied about not having items but screwed up by bringing them later. At this point I have had enough, and we decided that's it we are out. Food is mediocre at best. This restaurant is definitely last on my list of choices for lunch and dinner.

So with all my friends having such a HORRIBLE experience here I'm reluctant to give this place 3/5 stars. But we really feel like we've dodged a bullet every time we eat here. I have NEVER had bad service or even a lukewarm plate served to me. Always hot and service is always been a great experience. AND the prices are about $7-10 for their best plates! My close friends however have had waitresses yell at them, appetizers forgotten, waiters forget about the table for 45 mins only to tell them it was somehow their fault their food wasn't delivered in time(this particular incident led to a free to go meal being offered only to be rejected bc it was such a bad experience). SO... if you are good at dodging bullets like me, join the masses, wait for an hour and check them out. Good luck. read more

My wife and I ate here a few days ago... Wife had some kind of chicken dish with shrimp on top, it wasn't bad but nothing at all to remember.. I had a burger it was just basic and nothing special, I also ordered the red beans and rice because it's one of my favorite foods, cheddars version is terrible I mean by far the worse I have ever tried, I couldn't even finish my tiny 2$ bowl of it....how this type of food can be served is beyond me.. Meh. I ordered a half sandwich and a Caesar salad for lunch. The sandwich I wanted was inexplicably unavailable for the combo (no restriction on the menu, the server just said it couldn't be done). The Caesar salad was lots of rusty lettuce and a ton of gloopy dressing. DH had lemon pepper fish which he said was good and the broccoli served on the side was fresh and well prepared. I would have preferred more heart healthy options. I know it's a chain, but four "light" meals is pretty sparse. I can usually make good choices out of a salad an an app, but the app menu is loaded with grease and cheese too. read more

So far, this was one of the worst dining experiences in Jonesboro. The service was slow and non attentive, the food was definitely frozen and microwaved. The appearance of the building makes it seem like the experience will be slightly upscale, couldn't be further from the truth. We had a good sampling of kids and adult dishes. We went on a Tuesday night and had a 45 minute wait to be seated. This wasn't so bad given that we had a party of 5, but when considered in light of the rest of our visit, it was way too long. So, everything started off well. Our waitress was friendly and engaging. We ordered some queso dip and bread. The bread was excellent as was the queso. But, we ordered the queso with meat. The meat was a huge clod of taco meat. No problem, it tasted great, so we overlooked it. So, we're now about 55 minutes in to our visit. Our appetizer is finished and we wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. Our waitress disappeared for several minutes, stopped by to tell us our meal needed just a little more time and then disappeared again. And, we waited longer. She came back and told us 10 more minutes. After about 15, a guy who appeared to be the manager walked past our table and in to the kitchen without acknowledging our presence. Finally, about 5 minutes after that (2 hours and 5 minutes in to our visit, an hour and 20 minutes after being seated) we got our food. I asked what had happened and was given an explanation that really didn't make any sense. Now, the food. Overall, the food was of good quality and reasonably warm, not hot. My grilled chicken was burned to a crisp on one side, but I ate it anyway since I didn't have another hour and a half to burn on a work night to send ti back. After trimming off the burned parts, it was actually very good. My wife ordered the fish tacos and they were excellent and well prepared. Our kids ordered sandwiches. Both good. They have a great selection of sides and plenty of healthy menu choices for people who don't go for the typical heavy "fern bar" fare. The dessert selection looked pretty good too, but again, no time after this marathon dinner. My biggest beef with the place is that no one ever really talked to us about what was going on. The manager never visited our table even though it was very evident we were annoyed and several large parties sitting around us had been seated up to half an hour after us and had eaten and left before we even got our food. The waitress blamed the kitchen. I don't really care, to be honest. The point is, they didn't really seem to care whether we came back or not. All it would have taken for me would have been a visit from the manager with an apology and maybe comping the bread (yes, they charge for their bread) or giving us a coupon for a future visit or something. The verdict? Well, I might try it again someday, but I'm not going to wait for a table for 45 minutes to do it. There are plenty of good places in Jonesboro. read more

Service was fast. Served at the bar where we ordered two Titos Teas. Drink was supposed to have Grand Mariner in it. When I ask if we could have some added, the bartender said that he put RUM in it, "which is the same" he said. I educated him on the fine spirits and he corrected himself. Have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. I have never had to wait to be seated although that is probably more luck than anything. I usually order the sirloin steak, but their chicken alfredo is very good. Love the honey butter croissants. Used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Jboro because of the fish tacos. Just found out they did away with them. Well, that did away with my need to go to Cheddars. I was never a huge fan of Cheddar's in spite of ending up their almost every week. I would usually order a burger or steak which to me is mediocre at best. Recently I decided to try the Key West chicken and it was outstanding. I have since started venturing out on the menu and I'm always impressed. The Caesar salad could serve as a meal in itself. The menu is well varied so everyone can get something they like, and they are significantly cheaper then most dine in places. Cheddar's is a great place to go after work. read more
